This is an IFA carer I,m sure but she's not going to tell us how much she earns per week (around £600 per child) In addition she gets money for clothing, holiday money etc. I'm not blaming the carer. The IFA directors charge local authorities an enormous amount to cover all expenses so they don't have to pay anything. The IFA's have privatised fostering and their carers don't realise that the funding comes from local authorities. It means that LAs who have been under resourced for many years, are now even more depleted because all of this money they have to pay the IFAs

Firstly, I agree with everything you say about IFA verses LA. It’s one of my biggest bug bearers about ‘the system’. Secondly, it’s odd to think you know who I foster for and state it with such conviction. Lastly, I’m a LA foster carer that doesn’t get anywhere near that amount of money per week per child.
