    I'm involved in a human rights tribunal here in Toronto Canada, and I have come very close to deciding to represent myself. It has been devastating, even a lawyer at the legal support centre, an arm of the tribunal, mistreated me so badly I ended up in the hospital, and an overnight stay at the mental hospital with a complete mental breakdown, and I'm considering applying to the Tribunal against them! Trouble is, they already have a preconception that I am overly litigious. These people are going to be the death of me, or I'll have a great outcome, but having you fabulous women post a video such as this is so incredibly helpful!! ❤ Especially given that the UK and Canada are similar, and there's not a lot in Canada that I can find to aid me.

    Excellent video. I am going through a Tribunal, also representing myself and have my PM in a weeks time. Everything you have said or experienced at the initial stage, I am familiar with. That gave me some 'comfort' (if that's the right word)! In particular seeking Legal representation from my Home Insurance Policy (waste of time) to so-called 'no win no fee' (another waste of time - I 'didn't qualify', they didn't want to represent me for free but would if I paid them). Your video was a chance for me to double check my Case Management form. Although there are no guarantees, best chance of success is to be as prepared as possible and stick to the facts. Thank you for the inspiring me and many others.

    Very insightful, no doubt. I'm currently in my last stage prior to my FH. In the process of drafting the WS and then schedule of loss! No idea where to start as I'm representing myself! Any directions please? Thank you

    Thank you so much I was very detailed I had to remove emotion and apply everything to the law I am very lucky to File July 2023 & get Hearing July 2024 - Respondents wanted to bully me into NOT BEING SO DETAILED, not to sue the firm and individual HR and other members of staff - I was determined to hold them accountable

    i have been refused a grievance (ignored, then denied access) and then refused a SAR for good measure & any future SAR will also be refused!! - an NHS Trust too & me a TU rep... - i am sure you may know - but there is an excellent case, Gallop v Newport Council re 'disability' status which is cruical to many claims - & the employer refusing status, simply rubber-stamping an OH report without consulting employees GP or hospital records - court of appeal called the report 'worthless' - funny 😊

    What if the respondents missed deadlines stipulated in the CMO for submitting their disclosure? It was sent a week later. Do i need to notify the ET by email or this needs to be flagged during the FH? And how do i claim costs for that please? Thanks

    Tribunal next week so much and feel overwhelmed to give in to settlement 😢

    • @valla_law
      @valla_law  5 месяцев назад

      A settlement isn't giving up or admitting that you were in the wrong! Sometimes it can be more important to move on, and a settlement can make the transition easier.

    I paid a solicitor to draft my first ET1 and then did my own second ET1 claim by copying his layout but I expect i have made some mistakes. I gave two ET1's and now waiting to see if both can be ajoined. Complicated case against my forner employer Merseyside Police which at current I have to represent myself. The first is for suffering detriment after making protected disclosures the second is for suffering further detriments as a result of making those disclosures and disability discrimination. Finding it hard work.

      It’s a nightmare. I’m about to head into tribunal after nearly 3 years of dealing with my employer and his lawyers on a whistleblowing case where he ignored multiple health & safety laws re our child employees.
