- NOTE: CABIN FILTER WAS INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN. ARROW INDICATED AIR FLOW TRAVEL NOT WHICH SIDE IS UP. THEREFORE THE ARROW ON YOUR CABIN FILTER SHALL POINT DOWNWARDS

Thank you for this! I was originally going to skip to the oil change part but in fact I found every piece of info on this video to be helpful as I just got a cabin and engine air filter as well. Take care!
You're absolutely welcome! I'm glad I was able to be of help!
Good for Toyota going back to regular oil filter unlike the stupid cartridge filter they’ve had for 10+ years on most of the Toyotas
Agree nothing beats a spin on filter.
Thank you very much. You are awesome!
Thank you! I'm glad I was able to help ♥️
in most videos, after oil is emptied, oil filter is removed. in this video, you first removed the filter, and next, emptied the oil. So, you can change the sequence, and it is absolutely fine, right?
Yes you can change the sequence and it is perfectly fine!
You should check with NAPA about that arrow. Normally an arrow on any air filter indicates the direction of air flow. It only indicates which side is up if it says up next to the arrow. The WIX filter only has an arrow on it and does not say up or air flow so I asked them what the arrow means. Their reply was, the air flow direction, which is down. WIX may make NAPA gold filters which means the arrow should point down in the direction of air flow. Were there any instructions with the filter?
Thank you so much for your input! You are correct! After some digging I found the napa filters will indicate direction of air flow! That being said the cabin filter I installed will be flipped over! Appreciate you and your knowledge!

Glad to help.
But the cabin filter @01:46 has the words "UP" next to the arrow.
@kon don normal intervals are 3,000 - 5,000 miles depending on the car and oil used. We only replaced this oil because the vehicle had sat for some time
Do you recommend buying the filters and the oil from the dealer?
You're better off buying some Mobil 1 oil + Mobil 1 Oil filter and save yourself the money and time
Thank you very much.
You're welcome! I'm glad I was able to help 👍🏽
So it looks like the plug is facing forward. That means I can’t just jack the front up then to do it?
Incorrect! The drain plug faces the rear of the vehicle. Either way, you can jack up the front of the car and should be able to do the oil change!
The oil around the new filter was an old school thing ,50,60s and up to 80s,silicone changed that, not needed now
Love your input, I wonder why dealerships still train people to lubricate the oil filter gasket
About to change mine. Have you ever changed the same year and car with the other cartridge filter not sure what mine is yet and is it interchangeable can I switch to the regular filter if it has the cartridge? Thank you for the video btw much appreciated (this is about the oil change)
Those filters are not interchangeable. You'll need to buy a special socket for the oil filter housing. Here's a link to the one I have www.amazon.com/PBT-Toyota-Lexus-Filter-PBT-71117/dp/B073T7HSLP/ref=asc_df_B073T7HSLP/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312087868266&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=677444910277229450&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031090&hvtargid=pla-590805637405&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=58868507981&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312087868266&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=677444910277229450&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031090&hvtargid=pla-590805637405
@@dailymaintenance2751 okay thank you very much. So if it has this on it I cannot take it off and put a normal filter on? Sorry just confirming
@@dailymaintenance2751 also thank you for the link that helps a ton
@@wwjdCalebwwjd correct! You cannot put a normal filter on. You must use a cartridge type filter
@@dailymaintenance2751 thank you
one more question, i apologize! I'm doing the cabin air filter change. My fram cabin air filter has an arrow for air flow. Which direction does the air flow? wasn't sure if my airflow arrow shoudl be pointing up or down. Sorry to be a pain!
You want the arrow pointing up! Air comes from the blower right underneath the cabin filter, through the cabin filter, and out of the vents!
Ok thank you!
@@troyboulware3518 not a problem!
I just took my car for a oil change. And a couple days later I heard a noise under. I went to go check and one side of the plastic around the oil bolt is hanging down. It looks like a screw or something is missing. Could this have happened when my oil was changed?
That could be a possibility. Sometimes technicians have to remove the plastic under tray in order to access the oil filter and oil plug. They may have forgotten to place that screw back in
@@angelskater12 thank you 🙌🏾 I was able to push it back in and it stayed. Hopefully it won’t come off anymore. 🤞🏾
Great vid, what do u recommend I should changed at 90k kilos ?
At 90k there would be a few things to check and replace if needed.
- spark plugs (if dirty/old replace)
- brake pads (if pad life is less than 4mm, replace)
- belts (if excessively cracked, replace)
- tire rotation if necessary (if front tires have less tread then the rear, rotate your tires)
This isn't absolutely everything but this is a great place to start !
There may be other things but this is definitely a good place to start.
You mean 90,000 miles.
Just bought a 2017 corrolla from an older family friend and did my first oil change. I accidentally put all 5 quarts in before I realized it was only supposed to be 4.4 quarts. Is this going to be a problem? Thank you in advance!
It shouldn't be much of an issue. It's not ideal but I do believe you'll be okay
Ok thank you!
Ok thank you!
🔵ONE MISTAKE YOU MADE WAS WHEN REPLACING THE OIL FILTER YOU REFER TO THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE WHEN IT WAS THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE.🔴
You're mistaken, this is a vehicle that I work on occasionally as the person who owns it is a client of mine. The oil filter is located near the passenger front, not the driver front. Thank you for your concern!
🔵dailymaintenance, IT SURE LOOKS LIKE THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE. ANYWAY, THE OIL FILTER ON MY 2017 TOYOTA COROLLA IS CLOSE TO THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE NOT THE PASSENGER TIRE. BUT I LIKE DRIVING MORE MY 2021 760HP MUSTANG SHELBY GT500.🔴
😂😂 wtf??
You're both mistaken the oil filter is in the trunk
@@dailymaintenance2751 just did mine today, filter is on passenger side. The filter is SO easy to get at as well! did the job in like 10 mins
