That's a really good example of why kids need to go through hunter safety classes and not only be well trained but have solid common sense or they should not have access to any firearms.
The time to start is when they're around 8 years old (old enough to listen, young enough to have respect for adults)I had a single shot 22 rifle that was dialed in by my dad as my starter gun. It gave me confidence and I learned how to handle it safely before being allowed to use anything else.

I remember when I was young I was looking out the window keeping in mind it was night I'm alone in my room facing the back yard looking at the fence it was a wired one 8 or 9 feet tall you could of corse see through it not to long after looking I saw something with long hair... sticking up similar to an the ostrich but the feathers or spikes whatever clear the fence like nothing started bolting at me. Definitely ran on four legs but could stand on two when it saw me it struck so much fear into me. Being that this was in a very rural area only Houses no forests nothing of that sort. Was scary is that it's hair whatever was protruding from it's head or back seemed to move with it like hair or feathers but with gravity not taking effect. It looked as half of its body was composed of it too... Then again it scars me too this day.
Also my parents called the cops being how petrified I was. I told them the story they said it probably was a burgler or smthn I've I was 9 when that happened.
Still plays in my mind like it was yesterday.
Makes me wonder one of many king of relate to the first story except I feels things from stuff (objects) with strong energys. Anyways there's a little story time... Give me a reply if you've had anything similar. I've seen a handful of things like that but this one was the worst haha.

Love the story where the teen tries to befriend it. Reminds me of my favorite wendigo story that I heard months ago and haven't been able to find again since. The person was an artist that moved out to an isolated cabin on top of a mountain and over months it got closer and started messing around just outside on the porch. One day he told a Native American local about it and was told to flee immediately and stay in his house at the base of the mountain. This is when it got vicious and ransacked the house and ended up chasing the artist down the mountain.
If anyone can help me track this story down, that would be awesome. I haven't heard it in so long and I loved the fact that it was curious instead of just bloodthirsty.

When I was 12-ish...I was in my room playing video games. My brother was in his room doing the same and my parents were upstairs watching TV. It was a quiet evening, everyone in the house doing what we usually do. It was dark out - probably about 9 pm. Out of nowhere I hear this terrible noise. It seemed it was right outside my window...my stomach dropped and I froze in a primal way, in fear. The noise lasted for probably 5 seconds. It sounded like... a guttural screech...alien...almost like the noise a cat makes when defensive, but too low and too human sounding for my brain to think "cat", a gurgle, demonic. As soon as the noise stopped I ran out of my room and into my brothers. Visibly shaken I asked, "Did YOU hear that??" He said no. I yelled upstairs and asked my mom to come down... everyone shrugged it off as an animal. To this day I have no idea what made that demonic noise. It could have been an animal - but no animal noise has ever made my body freeze in terror that that.

You know. I really like the first one because it goes against the reality of what a wendigo is. In native american legend (as far to my knowledge) the Wendigo is a horror and monster that a Human becomes if it eats another Human's flesh, and now only wish to eat more and more. So the concept that this thing has still retained or regained it's Humanity to the point where it would rather make a friend than eat... it is just so bloody fascinating to me.
