  • "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on the earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." - Colossians 1:15-20 ESV

Thanks for singing this ancient hymn I was trying to make up a tune but sounded so bad and you have made it sound great! Such awesome words, just an epic nugget describing the Lord's supremacy over everything

Eric would you please send me the chord charts for both versions of the Colossians Hymn? Great job. I want to use with my Bible study to help people in our group to memory this scripture.

Sure thing. Do you have an email that I could send it to? Glad the songs could be of use outside our context. Hope they bless your gathering.

God bless you brother! I believe that a Christian should read and memorize Colossians and Ephesians! No matter how a Christian knows many things from Bible if he do not read these two books will miss God's great masterpiece, the Church! His body!

Hello po thank you for sharing your song to us. 😁 I'm from the Philippines and in behalf of our worship team ministry we would like to include your song in our service as a response to our message happening this coming sunday, we are blessed by your song 😁 recently it's not easy to find purely scriptured songs/hymnals. God will bless you more po as you continue to walk with God and make more hymns, and be used by God. 🎙🎶

Wow, thanks so much for the kind, encouraging words! It really means a lot. It would be an honor if you are able to use the song in worship. Please let me know if you need anything for that. I may just have a chord sheet or something but let me know. Also, if you're able to record a video or something, that would be great to see and hear. Blessings in Christ to you and your community.

@@ericanthonygraef Wow! 😁 Yes po. and so are we. Thank you so much for your kindness 🙏 It'll be a great help for us if you will hand us some of your chord sheet for this song. As of tomorrow here in the philippine time at 5pm we are going to practice your song as well as our line up for this sunday. We'll just rearrange your song and transpose it to my key. 🙂 And yes po we are always recording our practice and I can send it to you po so that you can also listen to it. 😁

I turned Colossians 3:1-4 into a hymn! I also realized that the Greek rhymes. I'm guessing it was a hymn to start with.

That's awesome! Yes, it is believed to be an early church hymn.

Thank you! Helps to see how these verses really could have been an early song that Paul quotes. May include in my sermon this week.

Amen! It would have been awesome to hear how the early church first sang together. What a joy to continue to sing the Word. Blessings.
