Onaga is mentioned in a couple of Geras's intros dialogues to Liu Kang of being a Titan treat more powerful than any other Titan. It has to be the original timeline Onaga they're talking about as the Titan that rules the other Liu Kang's timeline as well.
I think Liu Kang made Onaga more of a beast or monster in this timeline than an intelligent leader who can rival his power, however I think titan Onaga will be the boss in the next game, he will be more like the midway Onaga.
Hopefully Titan Onaga will be in his original Body seen in raidens ending in deadly alliance, Cause his original form is probably the sickest character I have ever seen in the series.
On one hand it does make sense for Liu Kang to try and neutralize Onaga like he did the other villains. On the other it means we won’t see him as the main villain for a long time as the endings for MK1 directly follow the main story so they are likely canon meaning this Shao and Reiko subplot of taming Onaga will follow up. That to me sounds like side villain territory.

Since MK1 felt like a Deadly Alliance Requel it makes sense that the next time we see the next Game will take place with Deception, I love that the Endings are 100% Canon and that they’re building up Onaga, Just Because the Dragon King doesn’t have his intelligence it doesn’t make him less Dangerous, he can work as the Doomsday of the Franchise.

I honestly hope that Onaga doesn't return for one simple reason - he'll be ruined. For some reason, NRS has proven incapable of handling it's biggest and baddest villains. Look at Shao Kahn: he was OK in MK9, in MK11 he was an idiot and now he's an absolute joke who jobs to midtier characters. Look at Shinnok: fallen Elder God gets knocked out by barely experienced teen and after that is unceremoniously decapitated and promptly forgotten about. Look at Kronika: she was supposed to be the most dangerous foe MK gang has ever faced yet it turned out that she's a moron who ruined her own plan. Even Titan Shang Tsung in M1K made that same mistake by revealing his whole plan to the heroes and former associates for no reason whatsoever. There's no reason for me to believe that they wouldn't turn Onaga into just another bumbling buffoon who gets defeated in the most underwhelming way possible.

But Havik on the other hand will basically be like Kang The Conqueror which he will be seeing the events of the previous games and will get to control the Hourglass. So he's gonna be in charge with the Dragon King basically like Darkseid.
My kind of guess is theyre gonna do 2 DLC packs based on the success of aftermath in Ed Boon directly stating they have a long list of characters plan for DLC; it also fits their trend of giving fan service to multiple 3-D era games all in this one. It makes it Lohr wise. Easier to have two or more DLC packs when there is a lengthy story to allow opportunities.
Usually when an animal is tamed, it follows the the one that tamed it. If Onaga is in an expansion DLC or the next game, will Shao Khan be at his side, will it be Reiko or both?
It should be noted that Havik might not necessarily be the bad guy for the expansion. He may very well be the next boss for invasion mode which will have multiple seasons

What everyone wanted was for Havik to be the main villain of MK1 and Onaga tease at the end. It didn't happen. Instead Havik was a jobber and having you play and beat Titans means Titan Havik doesn't seem all that threating now. It ended up backfiring. Onaga now a depowered mindless beast? They even had Shujinko defeat him in Armageddon. They even gave us a revamped Shinnok.

I’m only a quarter weigh done with the arcade towers I didn’t see any that talked about Onaga yet. That’s infuriating if an RS made him a mindless savage beast. And it’s even more unfortunate when the RK towers are all canon event that will continue into the sequel. For some reason, NRS has proven incapable of handling it's biggest and baddest villains. Look at Shao Kahn: he was OK in MK9, in MK11 he was an idiot and now he's an absolute joke who jobs to midtier characters. Look at Shinnok: fallen Elder God gets knocked out by barely experienced teen and after that is unceremoniously decapitated and promptly forgotten about. Look at Kronika: she was supposed to be the most dangerous foe MK gang has ever faced yet it turned out that she's a moron who ruined her own plan. Even Titan Shang Tsung in M1K made that same mistake by revealing his whole plan to the heroes and former associates for no reason whatsoever. There's no reason for me to believe that they wouldn't turn Onaga into just another bumbling buffoon who gets defeated in the most underwhelming way possible.

If i don't know any better, but i kinda hope Onaga makes a return in the game. But Havik on the other hand will basically be like Kang The Conqueror which he will be seeing the events of the previous games and will get to control the Hourglass. So he's gonna be in charge with the Dragon King basically like Darkseid.
My kind of guess is theyre gonna do 2 DLC packs based on the success of aftermath in Ed Boon directly stating they have a long list of characters plan for DLC; it also fits their trend of giving fan service to multiple 3-D era games all in this one. It makes it Lohr wise. Easier to have two or more DLC packs when there is a lengthy story to allow opportunities.
Usually when an animal is tamed, it follows the the one that tamed it. If Onaga is in an expansion DLC or the next game, will Shao Khan be at his side, will it be Reiko or both?
Remember, the original Shang Tsung tricked the MK1 Shang by going by the name 'Damashi'

If his body was only a mindless monster then the human form could be defeated easily if he gained power. The only other option that doesn't make Liu look like an idiot is if Titan Onaga showed up.

The threat that Titan Onaga poses is already taken less seriously with characters being ready for it instead of it being unpredictable like it was in mk deception where Onaga was never revealed to the main cast and plus we really had enough of Titans already, if anything its better leave Onaga alone if they continue to butcher his character and make most of the dialogues or endings non canon as it dumbs down his character to a dumb brute at best, unless they aren't willing to do all of this there is really no reason to bring Onaga back if this is the character butchery they commit to

What everyone wanted was for Havik to be the main villain of MK1 and Onaga tease at the end. It didn't happen. Instead Havik was a jobber and having you play and beat Titans means Titan Havik doesn't seem all that threating now. It ended up backfiring. Onaga now a depowered mindless beast? Onaga Was Not Apart of The Story Mode
Onaga was always a character they built up as this huge threat, but they made him so weak. He is tricked and poisoned by Shao Khan. Then he's not even powerful enough to withstand Shao Khan in Armageddon. It's like he's unpopular with developers because they didn't handle the other villains like this. They even had Shujinko defeat him in Armageddon. They even gave us a revamped Shinnok.
Onaga could've been a better character if they didn't just make him shao kahn 2.0.

I’m only a quarter weigh done with the arcade towers I didn’t see any that talked about Onaga yet. That’s infuriating if an RS made him a mindless savage beast. And it’s even more unfortunate when the RK towers are all canon event that will continue into the sequel.
