I miss my band. It was my only time in the month to be away from all the family stress, depression, divorce of my parents and gave me a lot of selfworth and a place where I can express myself. While my family slowly broke apart, my band mates and their family became my new family. Never underestimate the power of music. ‚Die Abendgesellschaft‘ forever ❤

Man I gotta say. You’re giving me all sorts of throwback vibes and reminding me of some of the best years of my life.
I’m 38. And from 2003-2007 I was I in a band, played guitar nonstop and basically music was my life. Being in a band at that time was unique because it was right before to dawn of the iPhone and the EXPLOSION of social media that followed. Today an amazing guitarists are a dime a dozen. But back then it was rare and learning riffs and showing each other songs we learned, not just between other band mates but just friends in general and people I went to high school with.
I miss the days of going to party. There’s a guitar in the corner and we would just jam and improvise on the spot. Or maybe someone learned a cool riff or solo and it was passed around as being a “big deal!”
We were raw, gritty somewhat, but most of all we were REAL. I discovered your channel about a week ago and you, your whole vibe, your playing, your style, is almost 100% from what I remember back in the day. Had you been around back in 2003, you would have fell in and easily become one of my best friends and or band mate. Hell you even look very similar to my best friend and ex lead singer of my band.
You are awesome, very talented , your playing is great and your whole channel just brings me so much nostalgia.

@@jacobiskandermusic Just curious what bands/music do you listen to?
I’m anything nu-metal/metal from the late 90’s and on. All the metalcore/emo stuff from the mid 2000’s. I also very much love classic rock (Zeppelin, Sabbath, Floyd..) and 60’s stuff (The Beatles, Rolling Stones) I like blues some jazz. I do listen to rap and EDM stuff but in all honesty my heart just doesn’t connect to a lot of it. My favorite band of all time is Tool. But my music tastes is so varied it’s hard to say sometimes.
I do gotta say, I’m assuming you’re in your early 20’s? It is SOOOOO refreshing and brings much joy to me that there are kids like you still out there. A lot of your generation severely disappoints me…but you my friend do not fall into category. You are above all that. Keep it up man and I look forward to seeing and listening to everything you and band create!

@@AT-yg4nk i feel that on the varied taste! Tool is great! our singer is a big fan as well :) i mostly listen to indie rock(?) and emo rock. i’m the type that goes through phases with music, lately i’m very into PUP, Microwave, Oso Oso, Jeff Rosenstock, Slow Pulp, to name a few :)
and we’re all around our mid-20s. i live near toronto, canada and there’s a bunch of local bands in the scene that are totally about the music the same way we are :)

This is all i've ever wanted since i was a kid, all my favorite bands got along well and were the best of friends, and I hope I can have something like that someday soon. Just making music and touring around with your people. Goofin off, makin tunes. And it would obviously have it's harder parts, but you never get lonely because you're all in this together supporting one another. You and them against the world. To me that's everything. That's a life worth living, to me.
