You will have to work hard and make your way with the sword and blood, same as I did it. I started from a scratch - from Comptia A+, then went for Microsoft (which was my mistake. Well, maybe not at all, but I spent too long studying it) and after went for CISCO. I think, CISCO cert helped me to find a job in IT in the UK. Even me being not the best English speaker. As David told, you need to study every day. And I agree with it. This is what I did.

This is an awesome video. This the kind of stuff I should have heard 2 years ago. I would have known how to structure my studying. I was all over the place initially before I spoke to myself about tanking a step back and not focus on so many things at once. I was getting nowhere but trying to cram in every piece of knowledge I could. About 6 months ago I decided to focus on Linux, python, an CCNA. This seems to be working a lot better than being all over the place.

Hello, David you are genius and basically my personal guru ! I’m 51 years old Pole who lived in France for 25 years and all these years I worked in construction. I decided to change my life fundamentally 6 months ago. I’m learning at school to become an IT technician. I also learn English and computer languages. I learning and preparing for Cisco CCNA exam. I tried on the Udemy platform in polish and french, but it wasn’t until I got your course that I was dazzled. So now I’ve bought a few other courses and everyone is so amazing that I would like to have them all :). Needless to say, but I follow everything’s on RUclips and Twitter. Maybe I’m your the biggest fan. I started late but luckily I woke up from lethargy. Your courses and words help me a lot. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, your philosophy and for showing how to get closer to my dreams.

I started studying for the new CCNA to refresh the basics, now i'm studying python, and planned to jump to linux next, and go back to the CCNA. There is so much to learn that sometimes i felt overwhelming. Time is always an issue but like you say, one or two hours a day is better than nothing. You're right about automation converging with networking. I'm in my mid-fifties with 30 years in networking and a CCNP. My plan is to start the DevNet Associate certification after getting some grounding in Python. The opportunities in network automation are huge. Enterprises all over are circling on the business case and ROI of automation. Network engineers with programming skills are nearly impossible to find right now. Going forward, the combined programming/network skills are likely to be hard requirements for any serious networking engineering position. I haven't been so excited about the future of networking since the introduction of 10Base-T! Thank you for posting this video. Just what I needed to see to keep my motivation.

Good and informative video David. I have done CCNP and thinking to take the new CCNP route to renew the cert and refresh my knowledge along that i am studying and try to get hold of web programming aswell such as LAMP and MERN stack. It is really important these days to develop cloud skills aswell for that knowledge and linux hands on is also required. Every thing is linked to one another. Techologies are changing rapidly we cant just get away with only one cert these days.

This video gave me a push and I think it will be better if you give another similar one for 2021. If it can come early this time It will help a lot of folks planning for 2021 Goals. I suggest the title to be : Don't wait in 2021. or Just do it in 2021.

22 minutes of time we’ll spent. I tend to feel overwhelmed when provided with so many paths at once, but as you said. “Pick one and start there. My CCNA expired in 2016. I will focus my efforts in CCNP ENCOR instead of recertification. I’ve been in more active networking roles professionally since 2015. Had I seen and applied the tips in this video then, I would be so much further along. As the saying goes. Better late than never so thanks David for putting this video together. Hope one day so you will be allowed to go home. In the meantime I look forward to future videos and quiz questions on Instagram.
