This is so much more useful than boss tutorials imo. Had to give up on Malenia on my blind run because i was getting too frustrated but next playthrough when i get to her i will try some of these moves. Thank you!
Actually incredible. I'm so glad someone did this without parrying; it feels so much more like it's a challenge and not just beating a dead horse. You didn't even abuse bloodhound step, only used it for the Waterfowl dance and her other big attack. Absolutely respected my man.

I wonder if those dodges are possible with medium roll. I think some of her moves are much harder to avoid with that. Also quikstep/bloodhounds make the dodge on her flurry a matter of FP management. Amazing fight great video.
Also the reason you aren't seeing the 'dance' so much is because he isn't using summons and you guys were, remember, every time you summon the boss gets a little harder and the health pool gets a little bigger

It's when you follow Hyetta's quest line. In the end, you get burn marked by the 3 fingers. This also triggers the ending as "Lord of the frenzied flame".

@@DELPHIIII The only way to "manipulate" that normally is if you use a summon. If you summon and she keeps changing target the cooldown can reset. I'm not even sure that that's an intended mechanic or a bug. I'm sure that the top comment either summoned for the fight or kept being nuked by the flower, but actually if you learn the flower move and Malenia keeps using it, that's an "easy" phase 2 win for a casual player on lower level.

@@Name-bn3vo I think there was a misunderstanding. AI manipulation is really common in souls challenge runs. I don't mean that I think he was hacking, I meant that I thought he was intentionally standing at certain differences/angles to effect which attacks the AI does.
No, this guy has memorized every single move she does and came up with his own counters to it. It’s not that you’re bad. Just takes time to develop your own strategies. People who do these SL1 no hit runs have every move memorized
This is the funny thing about Souls community, there's like 15-20 no hit and speed runners/youtubers (Lobos, Hobbs, Squilla, Faraz) that everyone knows and most ppl are under the impression that they are the only ones whom own this game and can no hit it :P some ppl are just unknown (like yourself) or just don't post (like myself, i'm not a no hitter, but i did no death DS3 so i have that to my name! full melee with no ranged or magic or summons ofc :) like real men) Ppl should check out Ongbal (this is the name of the player and youtube channel) he's the best Sekiro player in the world in my opinion, was a world class no hitter in previous series as well, but man he want apeshit with this game and is destroying all the bosses :)

How long did it take to memorize this, just curious. I remember it took me a while to memorize Isshin in Sekiro
It took me four months to reply and two to memorize, a third day to actually complete the fight at lvl 1. TY for your patience king

She doesn't use her waterfowl dance or big rot flower move often against you. Are you manipulating this somehow? Could you explain?
She used waterfowl dance 4 times in this fight. If it's happening to you more then I think you're the one manipulating it 😅
She seems to use it less when you stay close and dictate a response from a melee attack. But as said, 4 waterfouls is pretty standard.
