I tend to have a little bit more luck with the eyeshadow pencils with staying power. Lancome makes a pretty good one.
I dont think I’ve tried the Lancôme shadow pencil. On the list!!! 💕

I have yet to find a liner that will stay put on my waterline for more than 15 minutes, so thank you for this! I'll definitely try the PMG ones.

Mac brushbrown liquid eyeliner !
Hello Alexa! I’ve tried Mac liners but never the liquid. I’d love to try it. Liquid liners can be so so good or so so so bad. Good to know the Mac is a good one! 💕
Hi Rebecca! I think the perfect eyeliner for a person may depend on if they wear contact lenses and/or if they have sensitive eyes. I think it also depends on if a person will use it as lining their eyes (top lid) , doing a winged eye look or placing it on waterline/tightlining.We know that majority of the high end brand eyeliners claim to be safe for sensitive eye and contact lens wearers. However when wearing them it can be an entirely different story. I wear contact lenses and when I've used the PMG and VB eyeliners the pigmentation is beautiful and it runs smooth on the eyes....however with the both of them since the tip is quite creamy I have to be careful of being heavy handed (which I am by nature. Lol) or else the tip with smudge downward and I will have to sharpen (which shortens the longevity of having the pencil) AND some particles from the pencil will go unto my lenses. This has happened to me with the PMG and VB eyeliners. So I've learned my lesson in being quite gentle. Oh yea both brands has not irritated my eyes . Now the PMG and VB both lasted long on my eyes and the tips are just right to create artistic looks (including a winged eye)...but with the PMG it began to smudge and run slightly sooner than the VB. I also like that with the VB pencil it also has a smudger.
I was interested in trying the WG pencils but I was concerned about how the pencil would feel on my waterline during tightlining...as I LOVE to do that.
The fenty and CT eyeliners didn't have longevity for me and didn't run as smooth as I'd like on my eyes considering I do have sensitive eyes and I do wear contact lenses.
I wasn't interested in the Tom Ford and other eyeliners. I've also tried the Urban Decay ones and there are nice colors but they didn't last long on me.
You know what eyeliners are good BUT they dry TOOOO quickly...the Lancome Drama Liqui-pencil eyeliner. They are quite pigmented BUT they dry down TOOO quickly...so if you want to smudge or do a certain look you won't be able to as once you put it on within 2-3 seconds it won't budge...also when it dries down it becomes tooo drying on the eye.
I also like (but isn't my favorite) the KVD beauty Cake Pencil in Trooper Black. It's small enough for waterliner/tightlining and there's decent pigmentation but not that pop like the VB/PMG ones. Also Make Up Forever Aqua Resist eyeliners are quite good. There color eyeliners are awesome but the black one doesn't do it for me. The pigmentation of the colors are great and they last a good amount of time..but I dislike how you sharpen them with the built in sharpener.
Also I do like eyeliner pots as that with the right angled eyeliner brush you can better hit areas of your eye that would be difficult with the typical eyeliner pencil and it allows for more precision. Ive used thr Bobbi Brown eyeliner pot and I want to try the Melt Cosmectics one.

You know what I should have mentioned but it's been YEARS since I've used it....Smashbox used to have this little, super thin like a credit card....palette of eyeliners that you could dip your liner brush into. Oh it was the BEST. But I never tightlined with it. I gotta dig it out. Your comments on winged versus contact lens wearing etc. etc. are SPOT on as usual. 🥰 I wonder what you’d think of the Wayne liners.

I don't find eyeliner to be a boring subject since I'm pretty sure like myself most of us have been on the neverending quest of finding that perfect liner!
There is something that you should have mentioned when you took on this topic, the SHARPENER! I prefer pencils that can be sharpened because the point is crucial! Finding the perfect sharpener can be just as elusive as the eyeliner itself. I have found excellent pencils that ended up being almost unusable due to a bad sharpener. I always try to have a couple backups on hand because once that sharpener gets dull bye bye points, bye bye pencil.
My go to is always a black brown basically like the PMG you had shown though I hate to say her pencils just didn't work for me but her sharpener is really good! For some reason it applies nicely but melts & smadges in no time on me. I use to like the Smashbox liner in Brewed it had staying power but they moved to the twist type which I hated. I must know how much product I have left & those drive me crazy. I have found the Bobbi Brown pencils in mahogany work well for me & I do combine it with the Smashbox liner for the finish I want. I don't do the waterline but I line the lash line & below my lower lashes. I have really long lashes so I need the bottom line to balance things out. The top lashes are still long but not as long as when I was younger. When I was younger false lashes weren't the thing & I would be asked why I was wearing them. 🙄I also had a beauty mark on my inner cheek which a few people tried to rub off. Believe I wouldn't have placed it there & I have since had it removed lol
Estee Lauder use to have a good pencil but they discontinued it. It is hard because companies keep revamping their lines and changing their packaging to either streamline or cut costs. This becomes a dilemma as what they replace items with is usually never better or improved & the search begins again. I think you did a great job covering the subject & as companies change or close you will be able to do more updates.

You're SO right about the sharpener! I like the CT sharpener because it catches the shavings! That's funny how people tried to remove your beauty mark. What is wrong with people? They can't keep their hands to themselves. Haha. I LOVE the idea of a ten minute urgent update video! Sometimes that's entirely necessary! ❤️
Rebecca it always started with why did you put that there? Well let me see, I didn't want to copy Marilyn so I went inward. It was nerve wracking & insulting all in one. Years later it raised just a bit so I had it removed through insurance, pale people can pull it off. I was never a sun worshipper nor was my skin ever going to tan if I wanted it to do so but my doctor wanted me to have them checked. I went to a cosmetic surgeon & had a couple removed. He didn't think there were an issue but I could have them removed if I wished. The worst was a tiny invisible one by cupid's bow, that hurt! It wasn't easy keeping covered either as any time you move your mouth you have to readjust the bandage. He did a great job, you can't tell either was ever there.
As for sharpeners, CT is good, PMG & ABH are in my current circulation. I would buy another PMG pencil just for the sharpener alone!
Have you used the Bobbi Brown pencils? Just curious as I have found them to be a solid choice lately.
I tried the Bobbi Brown years and years ago. I should revisit them and I will! Ahhhh yes. I had some little moles removed off my eye lids a few years back. Not. Comfortable. To say the least! Had two black eyes afterwards for weeks. My husband did not enjoy the dirty looks he got. 💕
What an interesting video...eyeliner. Huh. It doesn't get enough love does it? Seems like everyone raves about eyeshadow palettes, foundations, blush, bronzers, highlighters etc. But hardly anyone mentions eyeliner and I think it is so important. I use and have used since I began wearing makeup only one brand and that is CoverGirl's Perfect Point Plus in black onyx. It is drugstore and as I've grown (aged?) evolved in tastes, it is the only drugstore item I buy. I love it because it is self sharpening, long lasting, rich in color, has a smudger built in and doesn't irritate my eyes. I wear contact lenses so it is important that eye makeup doesn't irritate. It is also under $10!!
I have tried that Cover Girl one and it's GOOD. I totallly agree!!!! And no sharpening required. Contact lenses and eyeliner are not friends!!! No peace treaty has ever been negotiated and the contacts always get the upper hand. 😍

This is a great topic. Next to concealer, eyeliner and mascara make such a difference on a no-make-up face. I just placed an order with an Etsy shop for some concealer and powder and was eyeing her pencil eyeliners. I'm still on the fence about if I want only mechanical. I do use liner in my waterline. I was reading that this can cause issues because the liner wax does not allow the eye to function properly. But my liner navigates off my waterline into my lash bed anyway. Sometimes I set my liner with shadow; it helps keep that wax in place!!! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Oh no! Yes. I hear this more than often with Charlotte eye liners. Lately my eyes have been a bit sore and almost....twitchy as if from irritation. Perhaps I need to lay off her liners and see if it helps. It's strange that I hear of it so often with her liners. Your aunt definitely benefited though! haha 🥰

Good recommendations. I think the Julep gel pencil is similar to PML and about half the price from Target. Maybe not as long lasting but pigmented and application is similar (no skipping).

Karen, that is the BEST eyeliner EVER. And that shade!!! It's not black. It's not brown. It's some perfection in between and lasts and lasts. I even used some eye makeup remover the other night on it. It smeared a bit and I thought, "Oooo, I STILL like it!" hahaha. ❤️

Hi Rebecca! Did you try the Milani "Stay Put" waterproof eyeliners? I have the color #03 Hooked on Expresso and #01 Linked on Black... the formula is very similar to the Pat Mcgrath liners and they are long lasting! Great Video! Have a wonderful weekend!

For Shade and BLK Coffee, which do you use most often and how do you use them? Together? Separately? Is one more natural and one is more dramatic as a brown? Would love your feedback! Hello Sutlana! I tend to use Shade more than BLK Coffee because Shade is a cool toned grey brown and it kind of goes with everything. I don't wear the liners on the lid at all, just in the water line and to tightline. When I am wearing an especially brown or dark brown look, then I will switch to using BLK Coffee. I tend to use the same pencil for both the waterline and to tightline, rather than mixing them, if that makes sense. Let me know if that helps or if you have more questions.

A really good Indie brand with amazing liners that I swear by is Lethal Cosmetics. They have very very nice gel pot eyeliners. They stay in the waterline, you can smudge them, they stay put, they do all of the above and being in a pot you get heaps of product. I am also a fan of the Marc Jacobs liners as well. OH! I almost forgot, I also really love the Linda Hallberg liners. They are also very good, I have quite a few of those too. I also like Charlotte Tilbury, however, I've noticed that my Pillow Talk lip pencil that I've only had for maybe 6 months is drying up. The product is starting to rattle around inside the pencil. I know thats a lip pencil and not an eye pencil but it's made me a bit wary of the rest of her pencils. And I do agree about the Pat McGrath liners. they are very very good
Oh yessss yes yes!!! Linda Hallberg. I have a ton of hers. They are very very good and I should have mentioned them. I love Lethal Cosmetics but have not tried their gel pots. Now they will be on my list. I have quite a few Charlotte lip pencils that rattle and then the product lifts out of the pencil so I absolutely understand what you say there. 😍
Guilty. I like the TF pencils because they are small and get really close to line for me and my limited lid space.

I don't know if high end liners are truly worth the money nowadays. I like the UD, MAC, Estee Lauder and Smashbox liners. We don't have Fenty, TF, PM, or CT where I live. I can order some of these online, but are they that much better than Too Faced, or even some drugstore liners? Maybelline, Rimmel and Loreal have some really good quality liners for the waterline or making a small wing. The rimmel liner reminds me of the VB liner. Is the KVD liner really that good for a wing? Should I try it finally? Is a regular gel better?
Hello Cynthias! Not only are you right, you're right about more than just eyeliner. With technology becoming more and more widespread, eye shadow is creamier, mascaras are more powerful, pigments are more dispersed, powders are more finely milled. ALL drugstore makeup is getting better and better and giving high end stuff a run for its money! I haven't tried the KVD liner, to be honest but I have heard, as you note, that the Rimmel liner is excellent. I love PML liners the most but talk about over priced! ❤️
Has anyone used the WG eyeliner pencils on the waterline/tightlining?
I definitely have, Andrea. That's all I do with liners is tightline and waterline. I never use them on the lids since I have hooded eyes. I barely have to touch that sensitive eye area because these are SO smooth and gentle. But they don't last quite as long as I'd like. Other than that, ZERO complaints. 🥰

Hahahahaha! They strap the packages to ducks heading south. Those ducks stop at various ponds for weeks on end and, since the load is heavy and they’re off balance, they also fly into poles. See? It’s not their warehouse that screws up the orders. It’s their ducks! 🦆

I’m yet to try an eyeliner that doesn’t transfer to the bottom water line after applying it to the top. I like deepening my top waterline but it always transfers to the bottom. I guess I should try PMG.
Also, try very very gently drying the upper water line with a little qtip before applying. That might help too! 💕

The case of the disappearing eyeliner AND blush!!!! 😂😂 I swear these two things disappear like magic in minutes sometimes (on me). Where does it go, dude??!!! Before I go any further, can we please talk about how absolutely GORGEOUS you are in the thumbnail?? Then can we please talk about how GORGEOUS you are (period) on the actual video with this glowing skin????? 😍😍 OK, now we can proceed to eyeliners. Only YOU to make me excited about eyeliner. I honestly don’t wear it a lot. Mascaras yes, liners not so much. BUT when I want or need or must wear it, then I have to have at least one on whom I can rely!!!! Mr. Liner must be reliable, or else. I don’t have the PML one, but I have to say that Wayne’s liners are sooooooo wonderful. Simple yet phenomenal. Another thing I like to do is wear shadow as liner. Soft. Shadow as a liner is lovely. I was mentioning below somewhere that i used to have this Smashbox little almost credit card thin palette with little creamy shadows to dip into for liner. I gotta find that thing. I loved it. 🥰

I still have their brushes because I am a brush collector (aka crazy) and they’re fantastic too. What happened to them? They still exist, but don’t seem nearly as famous as back in the day (Was it 2010, maybe 09?? Don’t remember what “the day” means 😂.) 💖
They are located, their photo studio, in Culver City here in LA. Pardon me for aging myself but for a short time they put on an LA Fashion Week along with Mercedes Benz, who did the NYC real shows. It was a bit of a farce BUT it was really fun to be at the smashbox studios and there was allllll the best Smashbox makeup in the goodie bags. 💕

Helllloooo Sheila!! Haha. I really thought people would think I’d choose VB! And I do love her. But I’m telling ya...you want it to literally not budge, it’s Pat all the way. Nails. Ok. I’m even considering doing a video somehow on this. I have such issues. It’s an OPI red but I’m foggy on which one as I’m trying a new technique that is working so far. A thin layer of acrylic (no tips or added length) and then gel over that. To keep my nails from breaking, bending (even with gel), etc. So I was excited and only saw the number on the color. Haha. I need to look better next time but I believe it’s good old Big Apple Red. 😊

Ok just got off the emotional roller coaster of mother’s launch. I couldn’t get on for 10 min the panic set in lol. It’s just blush it’s just blush. Whyyyyyyy do I deserve this punishment. Of course didn’t have bundles I was hoping for but I got blush highlighter and the lip devinyl u know nude Venus is my fav.
Honestly, Veronica, I was reading your comment, clutching my coffee like it was the most engrossing soap opera ever. I was gasping, "Couldn't get on??? Couldn't get ON????" OK. I got six blushes, the highlighter and the eye palette. I didn't do a divinyl lip shine even though I LOVE them but I will fool myself and throw one into a random cart when they show up at Sephora. Then I didn't buy it. An elf snuck it in and it appeared in my box. ❤️ I'll be looking forward to seeing everything....when it arrives in seven months or so.
