- This video is a tutorial on how to get extra moist stretched two strand twist on short natural hair using no rubber band on men or teen hair. This is a beginner friendly tutorial and you can do it yourself with a few simple steps. This natural 4c hairstyle is for all texture types. I first started off by hydrating the natural kinky hair with water using a spray bottle, then DETANGLE the hair using a rat tail comb. Next, I blow dry the hair on a low setting. Followed by sectioning the hair in 2-3 sections.The products used on this double strand twist is shine and gel, leave in conditioner, heat protectant , and foam lotion. Does the hair puff up after a few weeks? By that I mean shrink and get bigger
It’s does some, but to reduce that from happening so bad, I make him sleep with a durag and when doesn’t sleep with one I can tell a tremendous difference

What do you use to keep them from shrinking after they have been done for a few days from sweating?
They will usually shrink some. The only thing he did was sleep with a durag and put one on when he played football

Thank you so much. I maintained this style by having him wear a durag to sleep and this style usually last about 3 weeks before having to redo it due to frizziness.

The only reason I sometimes place clips at the ends of the twists, is because it helps with the stretching to give him a little more length, basically to reduce shrinkage.
Do you have any recommendation in NYC ?
Only think I would say is keep your hair wrapped when sleeping
