- This video is a tutorial on how to get extra moist two strand twist on short natural hair using the rubber band method on men or teen hair. This is a beginner friendly tutorial and you can do it yourself with a few simple steps. This natural 4c hairstyle is for all texture types. I first started off by hydrating the natural kinky hair with water using a spray bottle, then DETANGLE the hair using a rat tail comb. Next, I blow dry the hair on a low setting. Followed by sectioning the hair in 3 sections. First from ear to ear then a middle part creating two sections at the top of the head and one section at the back. The products used on this double strand twist is olive oil, leave in conditioner,some auntie Jackie’s no shrink gel, oil sheen and some holding spray. Using rubber bands to create square parting makes it easy for anyone to learn to do. It’s a great protective style and great for back to school. Hi! Did you take the rubber bands out prior to twisting it & how long does this usually last? What can you use at night so it doesn’t get messed up (my son is a crazy sleeper). Also, will this work on hair that’s not as textured? This video was so helpful! TYSM! 🫶🏽
You’re very welcome and thank you so much for watching. I did not take the rubber down they stayed in his head the whole time. This style can last for about 4 weeks before needing to be redone. He slept with a satan Durag. Yes this style can be done on looser curl types. The key is small square parting when someone hair is not long yet. The smaller square helps the hair lay flatter. Thank you for the video and showing your process. How long does he sit under the hair dryer? So my son never wants his twists to lay down, and they sometimes stick up in crazy angles. Would you you let your son keep his hair that way?Or would you insist they lay down?
Hey, thank you so much for watching. I let him sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes until it’s fully dry. I have him put his durag on every night or when he is not doing anything to just protect his hair but when we go somewhere he usually spray it with plain water run his hair through it and he let his stick up as well ”It’s the style for him lol” but I have him kinda push it down before school but by the time he make it home it’s sticking up, which is normal until his hair get longer…I hope this helps ❤️
