    I have a question: virtual wise card- it originally I have money in Euros & I am visiting America then do I need to covert from euros to dollar so that I can use my virtual card ?? I don’t want to pay more fees on multiple swap so what would be best way to use virtual card for multiple currencies

    • @Wise
      @Wise  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, there! Thanks for reaching out.
      You can either convert all the EUR you'd like to use beforehand and use just one conversion rate, or you can keep your EUR in your Wise account and our Smart Conversion will do this job for you in every transaction - we'll always convert for the best exchange rate, so you get the most for your money. Read more about Smart Conversion here: wi.se/smartconversiontech
      If you need, here's our rate tracker: wi.se/ratetrackerand you can also double-check our fees upfront here: wi.se/ourfees
      So it's up to you to decide what suits you better during your travels 😉

    Hello, please advise whether a citizen of Mauritius can open a wise account and receive payments in USD? Are there any applicable fees when receiving funds? Also, when any accumulated funds are transferred from the wise account to a USD bank account in Mauritius, what are the applicable fees and charges? Thank you.

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад

      Hey, John. We currently don't support Wise balance account for Mauritius Residence. However, if your sender has an account with us, they can send money to your USD, EUR, or GBP account in Mauritius. Since those currencies aren't the standard currency for your country, the money can only be delivered via SWIFT. In this case, the money will go through different intermediary banks before reaching your account, and they take their own, separate fees - so you might get less than you intended. We don’t have control over when these fees are charged, or how much they are.
      Check out our transfer steps and currency guide for more info:

    • @Wise
      @Wise  27 дней назад

      Hey there. As a fully online functioning financial institution, we don't accept cash, or cheque payments for any currency. For more on this, and the types of payments you are able to receive into your account with us, please have a look at our page here: wi.se/available-payments-wise
      Furthermore, please note that our platform currently offers a debit card, and not a credit card.
      Besides that, you don't directly top up the debit card, but rather a balance in your account with us. From there on out, you'll use the funds that you're holding in any of the balances with us whenever you make use of the debit card.
      For more info on how you can add money to a balance, go here: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances - and for more info on our debit card, click here: wi.se/debitcardfaq
      We hope this explains things to an extent, but please feel free to PM or DM us on Facebook, Instagram, or X, in case you have any other questions or concerns. We'd be glad to help you out, of course.

    Does wise update conversion rates with exchange rate movements?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  Год назад

      Not exactly Kojo. But, we'll always use the real mid-market exchange, so you don't have to worry about any hidden markups with us 😉 This is the rate that you'll find on Google or Reuters, for example.
      Every transfer comes with a fee to cover our operational costs, which you can find here: wi.se/pricecalculator. As each transfer is unique, the conversion rate is dependent on different factors, such as payment methods, currencies involved etc.

    If i have for exemple USD in my account i can pay with my card easly in europe with EURO?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey there. It should charge you in EUR automatically; however, since our card is multi-currency, sometimes shops, online stores, or ATMs might try to charge you more and offer you to pay in a different currency. So to avoid these hidden fees, make sure to always choose to be charged in the local currency of where ever you are.
      You can also check our Smart Conversion technology to see how we convert the balance for you with the lowest conversion fee in a currency that you don’t have in your account: wi.se/smart-conversion

    I ordered a wise card a year ago and have only now started learning about it as am heading overseas soon. Would I have set up a pin when I ordered? How do I know if I have a pin?

    • @Wise
      @Wise  3 месяца назад

      Hey, Jane! Normally, yes, you need to choose your PIN while ordering the card, unless you're residing in the US. If it's the latter, then you would be required to select the PIN after activation.
      In case you forgot your PIN, you can check it in your app:
      - Go to your Wise account.
      - If you’re on the website, go to Cards. If you’re on the app, go to Card.
      - Select Show PIN.
      - You may need to enter your Wise password, or use fingerprint or facial recognition, to check your PIN.
      If you have any additional questions, feel free to DM us via Instagram, Facebook or X. We'll be more than happy to assist you there 😊

      In the meantime, if you're having trouble with the website, you can try this troubleshooting guide: wi.se/webtroubleshooting
      Should the problem be with the app, here are some things you can try:
      👉 Force the app to close and reopen it
      👉 Check if the app requires any updates
      👉 Restart your device
      👉 Delete and reinstall the app
      Also keep in mind, that although we operate in most countries, there are some places you won't be able to log in to your account from: wi.se/countries-wise - just something to keep in mind in case you're travelling.

    Hi I have a question, for example I opened 3 accounts in my wise app- Singapore, New Zealand and Philippines then I travelled to Singapore from NZ to shop and eat using wisecard. Will the card automatically deduct my expenses using the Singapore account or do I need to setup anything to avoid using the other accounts NZ and the Ph accounts?if that makes sense. Thank you😊

    • @Wise
      @Wise  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there. We'll always deduct your money from the currency in which you're spending in. Which means, if you're in Singapore, and spending in SGD, we'll deduct from your SGD account. However, if you have insufficient funds there, our Smart Conversion technology will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee: wi.se/smartconversiontech_
      We hope this clarifies. Let us know if you have more questions.

    Hey Wise! I'm a Canadian heading to New Zealand to travel and work. I am currently in the process of setting up a wise account. I want to get my account details in order before I arrive that way I can start using the NZ account. I've opened an account for CAN and NZD but I haven't completed the account details in either. I'm just getting a little confused about the set up. For the CAN one I'd send 30 dollars in Canadian dollars then verify my account with likely my Canadian drivers license , passport, health card, etc. Then I'd be free to use that account correct?
    For my NZ account would I convert the 30 dollars to NZD using CAN dollars as that is all I have? How do I verify when I do not have an address or have any documentation because I am not from New Zealand? Do I just set up my Canadian account and convert those dollars into NZD and transfer into the NZ account? But then how would I do a wise transfer to someone in New Zealand if I don't have account details or have work (in New Zealand) pay into my account? Or do I just have to verify I am who I am as a Canadian citizen but in the NZD account details section in the same way I did in the CAN account?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated as I think I am overcomplicating the process 😅

      @Wise  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Alyssa 🙂 We offer account details for different currencies and in order to get the first set of account details, you just need to follow the given steps:
      👉 Add 20 GBP to your account (or the equivalent in your currency). To learn how to add money to your balance, check here: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances
      👉 Verify your identity (To verify your identity, check the following guide: wi.se/verifyyourid)
      We share more info on how to get account details here: wi.se/getbankdetails
      Also, please note that you only need to follow this process for your first set of account details, either CAD or NZD. You can first open get the CAD account details by following the procedure above and then can just move your funds to NZD balance. Later, you can get account details for NZD too - you won't have to yourself again, to get them.
      Keep in mind that if you're moving to New Zealand, you'll have to change our address to your New Zealand address. Check how to change and verify your address: wi.se/verifyyouraddress

      Hey there. We appreciate your feedback, and we can see how showing more, and elaborating further on selecting the currency you're looking to receive into your account with us, would've clarified this matter to a greater extent.
      So allow me to hereby explain this process in greater detail, via a few key steps:
      - Open a balance in your account with us in the currency you're looking to receive: wi.se/open-balance-info
      - Activate the account details feature linked to the balance you've opened: wi.se/getbankdetails
      - From here on out, you'll have account details that third parties can use in order to send you payments directly into your account with us.
      Having said that, please bear in mind that it's not possible for you to receive payments in all currencies - so to see which currencies you'll be able to add, hold, and receive into your account with us, please have a look at our page here: wi.se/balancecurrencies

      This means you won't be able to get account details and receive payments with your Wise account at this time.

      Hi, there. Thanks for raising this to us! Currently, with the latest version of the app, there's no longer "Manage" tab from its main screen, instead, you'll see: Home, Card, Recipients and Payments. But you can still find "Manage" if you're logged in using a web browser.
      We hope this clarifies, and let us know if you have other questions. You can as well reach out to us via DM in IG, FB or X or contact us here: wi.se/contactus
