For whoever is having pain with the pencil tool, double click it to open its settings, and make sure that "Edit Selected Paths" is enabled and its value is at 20 pixels(Max). After making that change, using the pencil tool has been faster and easier to work with. You can experiment a bit with its settings like Making the Fidelity more smoother so your lines are more cleaner (less points). I have the fidelity on max smooth, which for me reduces a lot of how much I have to fix. This video has taught me a lot of the power of the pencil tool. I've used it only a few times here and there since most of my work isn't organic form, but recently I wanted to expand more of what I can do and your video helped me a lot! Thanks for sharing!
Aww that’s made my day!!! Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the video hehe!! Loved creating this resource too, it’s something I would have loved at the start of my journey!!

Not entirely sure if I'm following Abi's settings and/or if this was mentioned somewhere and I completely missed it, but I thought I'd share!

This is so great to hear! The pencil tool really is so useful once you get the hand of it. Glad the video was able to help and thank yo for your support!
I use the pencil tool when need a organic trace, and the pen tool for a sharp and pro look (I believe is easier to edit and avoid repeat the line until get the right look.
Abi you're so good with the pencil tool in the past I thought for sure you were using some kind of tablet lol! Its funny you're doing this video considering I wondered what you used to make use of that tool so well (and watched your desk tour video to see if you had some special equipment.) Anyway, this is right on time!
unfortunately it doesn't! I've only ever used figma for wire-framing websites, I must say tho, I love the ux of the software, I find it really fun to use!
these videos are so helpful, thank you so much! honestly the editing and transitions are amazing too i wouldn't mind an editing tutorial along w the design content hahaha
See, THIS is the content we love to see! Every time I see one of your tutorials and the magic you work with the pen tool, my thought is....but hoooooow does it behave like this! It listens to her! She must speak its language!
Yay, loved making this video and the resource!! It’s definitely taken lots of practice with the tool, but the more you do the better and quicker you’ll get! Just like with most things in life! X
Hi! I love your videos, and have a video request. If you could make a video including all the shortcuts you use in Illustrator, it would be appreciated. And thank you for creating these videos it helped me soo much. :)
@@abiconnick I want to second this request! So many keyboard shortcuts and settings and it's so overwhelming...but I honestly believe with your teaching style I might FINALLY be able to use Illustrator without all the frustrations that have made me give up over the years. Your videos are changing my design game in a major way!
Glad you enjoyed the video! when you're drawing a line to delete a section you have to ensure your line is starting and finishing on the existing line of the letter. My best advice would be to just keep practicing as boring as it sounds, but the pencil tool is fiddly and that's the best way to get better! 😊
Hi Abi. thank you so much for this video, but I can't find the practice sheet that was used in the video. Do you mind sharing the link to download it again. Thanks
Thank you so much for all of your videos!! I'm using the pencil tool for the first time and I can't fit the pencil with the typography like you do... Can you do a video with your 'preset' pencil tool for beginners please? Can you explain in detail? Thank you Abi! Love you

Great video Abi. I have just gotten into branding and I use your videos as a reference all the time. Keep on going!! Also, maybe sometime in the future, can you do a live video of you designing a brand. I would love to see the entire process, not leaving out anything.
Yes Abi please🙏😊
Nice to hear my videos have been of help 😊 I have actually been thinking recently about dong more live stuff, maybe starting a Twitch channel in the future👀
@@abiconnick looking forward to it 👀

i started using the pencil tool after i watched your videos and the results were amazing , i thought it was useless ahhahahaha you are the best ❤❤ and congrats for the 100k
Sounds like a good idea!
Abi you're so good with the pencil tool in the past I thought for sure you were using some kind of tablet lol! Its funny you're doing this video considering I wondered what you used to make use of that tool so well (and watched your desk tour video to see if you had some special equipment.) Anyway, this is right on time!
Thank you so much! Never actually tried using a tablet but I might try it out for a fun video 😂 Hope the video was of help!!

Love to see the same for the pen tool with Figma if that comes under your expertise.

Thank you! Appreciate it 😊 Yes of course I will add it to the list!
@@abiconnick I want to second this request! So many keyboard shortcuts and settings and it's so overwhelming...but I honestly believe with your teaching style I might FINALLY be able to use Illustrator without all the frustrations that have made me give up over the years. Your videos are changing my design game in a major way!

Girl I love you so much for this 🙏🏼💗

Thanks Abbi! 😊❤
No problem 😊
So happy to see a video like this, how are you deleting certain parts of the letters?
Glad you enjoyed the video! when you're drawing a line to delete a section you have to ensure your line is starting and finishing on the existing line of the letter. My best advice would be to just keep practicing as boring as it sounds, but the pencil tool is fiddly and that's the best way to get better! 😊

Hi Abi. thank you so much for this video, but I can't find the practice sheet that was used in the video. Do you mind sharing the link to download it again. Thanks
No problem! You can find it here: www.abiconnick.co.uk/free-resources
Really really amazing and insightful! 😍✨
Thank you!!
love it. I feel like I overlook the pencil tool. I'll give it a go. have you ever tried it with a trackpad?
Thanks! 😊 I hope the sheet helps you! I have never actually given a trackpad a go, I bet it would be tricky!
abi! could u please give us ur pencil tool settings? especially for the removing part
Excellent
Thank you! 😊
This has been the biggest help. How did you erase the different parts at the end of the last quest?
Hey Abi !
Could you do a video about what to send or how to send the deliverables that a client requests ?
Sure thing!😊
You're a pro.
Yaasss 😍 needed this!!! 💜
Wahooo, hope the exercise sheets and video helps!!
Yahh, i love this video. Thank you so much 😍😍
No problem! Glad I can be of help 😊
Thank you so much for all of your videos!! I'm using the pencil tool for the first time and I can't fit the pencil with the typography like you do... Can you do a video with your 'preset' pencil tool for beginners please? Can you explain in detail? Thank you Abi! Love you
You are so welcome! I appreciate the kind words and support 😊 Yes of course I will make a note of it on my video ideas list !
