Aur waisi film Aaj ki date mein 5cr v nahi kama paayengi... Bahut saare actors ne strong role ke saath comeback kiya example Akshay Khanna and Bobby Deol. But Govinda ji ko hero ka role nahi mil raha to wo Mika Vulgar songs mein naach rahe hain.

My favourite is Amitabh, but acting versatility belongs to Dilip sahab and Amir khan.
Infact Amitabh himself idealises Dilip sahab.
If this was in 1992 then its only 20 years of being him in the industry.
Dilip Sahab’s career spans to 58 years (1941 - 1998) regardless of less movies but good movies.
Amitabh still has to cover 7 more years until he reaches the milestone of 58 years ( 1971-1929) , like Dilip Kumar sahab.

Well he made a comeback in 1997 and his Mrytudaata bombed along with his company ABCL failed. His only hit before Mohabbatein (2000) was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) and Govinda stole all the accolades in the film.

Even Major Saab was a Semi-Hit (1998). Even Semi-Hits should be considered successful.
And also, in 1999, Hindustan ki Kasam was an average grosser (grossed around its budget) and was a record opener, along with being the 11th or 12th highest grosser of the year. He wasn't a complete failure during 1997-1999. It's just that his overall 1990s decade went bad with only 5 to 6 successes- Aaj ka Arjun, Hum, Khuda Gawah, Major Saab, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hindustan ki Kasam.
