The US doesn't go to war over oil The operations in the middle east cost far more than just buying the oil. And specifically in the case of Iraq the US was under the impression that the oil fields would be burnt if they couldn't be held and expected raging fires and thick smoke for weeks and didn't expect any of that oil to be salvageable. The politicians in the US can't tell their ass from their elbow they're the reason America goes to war.

Yeah, the mapwork was pretty terrible. If a new civil war broke out now, it would be a patchwork like the Spanish Civil War, or Appalachia in the Civil War. It's impossible to really simulate the scenario in a grand strategy game.

Russia and China wouldn’t enter the war and they wouldn’t pick sides, what they would do is support the losing party to continue a war for as long as possible
China would loan to both sides, then after the war when both sides are unable to re-pay their loans, China would take some land in exchange for extending the loan. They would repeat until they own everything.

Patrik pass You're clueless. Republicans nor Democrats not even the "anti-Establishment" Establishment puppet Trump are against the Establishment. They feed of America's division and contradiction but it can only work to such extent. The GOP nor the DNC (nor Trump) give an eff about democracy, if they did they'd already break the party duopoly by implementing voting systems like the STAR or Approval voting. They'd also ask fakestream media and even pseudo-alternative media to stop peddling "China China China China" and "Russia Russia Russia Russia" at every turn.
You've also got this dilemma in which, if they become ACTUALLY democratic, they'd start giving more power to both Russia and China.
My point is if you want them to become "democratic" you would have to tell them to stop protecting America's (the Establishment that is) interests but it comes with it's consequences. They want you to think it's either or (Russia/GOP or China/DNC) to keep you in the loop. Basically it's like this:
-You want to support US imperialism at all costs? Then become anti-Russia AND anti-China at the same time. Good luck, as you'll rarely see a position like this in mainstream politics, I heard only Tom Cotton has such a positon in the GOP, not sure about the DNC though.
-You want to support more democracy but less US power in the world? Become anti-imperialist and let both China and Russia (along with anti-American nations like Iran, DPRK, Venezuela, Bolivia, Cuba, Syria, Nicaragua and Palestine) start having a more active role in Geopolitics. I don't believe anyone in mainstream politics in the US supports this position.
-You want to keep supporting the Establishment? Keep on peddling "Russia Russia Russia Russia" and whatever CNN and the DNC say OR "China China China China" and whatever Fox News and the RNC say.
