I always used to wait until it's daytime when intercepting a terror site (if possible). Nighttime terror sites could get messy. A terror site at night vs ethereals is especially hardcore.
Had a nighttime Terror mission once and right after the smoke grenade exploded even before i left the ship i saw a chryssalid emerging from the darkness. i immediately took off again.
@@Drachenhannes had my first terror mission in xcom terror from the deep on easy... after 3 weeks with no radar contacts i got a terror site with 3 lobstermen waiting for me outside... i just took off and left :D
@22:00 you're fighting some unusually well-armoured Floaters, here. I can just imagine that one you hit in the side of the head with four laser rounds, wearing one of Judge Dredd's helmets.
That's because of the ridiculous damage ranges they have on the game. In OG X-COM here, the rolls were 0-200% - you could hit for nothing, or hit for double, and everything in between. In TFTD they changed it to 50-150%, which meant higher low hits and lower high hits, but you would at least always hit for something.
Do you perhaps have any idea ow to lower the screen movement when cursor reaches the edge of the screen. I lower the scroll movement in the games options already to one, but the game is still unplayable
That's weird. OpenXCOM is not tied to the CPU speed like the original game. Unless you're playing the original DOS game? You can hold down the middle mouse button and drag the view. Maybe that works better for you? Also, if you're using a low resolution, try increasing it.
Tip = save at the start of missions and every once in awhile in geo... Also save at the start of every turn. I like to also save just before i shoot some alien.
The creepiness of the music, I forgot just how creepy it is especially in night missions. Can´t wait to play it again.
This game has so much tension
i agree
55:29 - Wow. Poor Yaprak Gencer... killed by a stray reaction shot from across the map.

Not always possible to wait that long, but I agree it would probably be ok for this one in Melbourne.
RIP Yaprak Gencer.
The back ground music is terrifying. TFTD and Apocalypse too
Ah heavy plasma... the multitool..!

@@endersblade I used to enjoy these videos.

I didn't know interceptors can engage UFOs simultaneously. By the way, why didn't you change weapons to interceptors to long range missiles?
You don't need them in the early game against small UFOs. They'd also completely destroy the small UFOs leaving you without elerium/UFO technology.
How do you "prime grenade" the smoke granades before mission ? I'm using dosbox to emulate the game
+Slayerthecrow You can't do that in the original game. I used OpenXCOM which adds several improvements to the game.
I thought i saw new stuff - lol, i was trying to explain to my brother about them.... thanks gor the video

No!

@@pasha21363 You can have autosave enabled in OpenXcom but you should not start save scumming (reload continuously to get favorable results).
