Bicycling has been wonderful to me. I been practicing for 4 months now since I took up the sport. I used to smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day, but since I started cycling and watched the performance of other stronger cyclists, I grew jealous. I wished to be like them but found I couldn’t match their pacing. Too fast for me. I can’t hang on for long. So, I realised that if I was to expect improvement in my game, I’d probably have to sacrifice my vices in exchange for good cycling performance. Which means - Quitting smoking. Now, everytime I’m craving for a cigarette, I just eat chocolate candies. Now, I always keep a chocolate bar in my pocket and munch on it a little at a time each time I feel the cigarette craving. So far I lasted for a month and a half now without smoking. I also learned that in cycling, of course it’s easy to go fast anytime. But for how long? The big question will be : CAN I GO FAST FOR A LONG TIME?
Dude this is an awesome story. I’m so proud of you man. Thats a huge change and way better for you. Congrats on ditching the ciggs. Hope you’re proud of yourself.
@@burgess_and_his_bike Thanks bro! 👍 Well, So far I feel happy for myself I only hope I can keep it up so I can be on par with the right people for competition. Actually I really dreamed of being an auto racer. But I ain’t rich and I don’t have enough money to afford and support it. I only have my bike and wish to make the most of the best thing I got. Thanks very much for making me feel your brotherly concern bro. Good luck, take care and more power⚡️ to your channel!
@@hyperboytkl1077 mate, of course. Glad you’re kicking goals. I know how hard it can be. Have you considered trying a race? Got a video on that too and I’d recommend just having a crack. Also, if you haven’t, chuck us a subscribe. Big plans for 2024 hopefully showing that cycling can be a cheaper sport than auto racing 🤙
Thank you so much dude. I wish I’d done it before my kids. Would have saved me a lot of strife but it’s been such a great move. It’s cool how many people are making the same choice.
Awesome, thanks for sharing! I quit alcohol 7 years ago when having kids and never looked back.
Yeah, such a good decision. If it’s changed this much after 2 months I am looking forward to seeing what happens after two years.
Great video, very open and honest. So much to take away from your journey.
Thanks my dude. Just hoping I can inspire someone like others inspired me. Rock on brother.
