You guys really took the criticism of last year to heart and approached FM 24 with a renewed spirit. Props to you, FM 24 sounds very, very promising, especially the tactical aspects and the match engine! I'll be honest, I said to myself I wasn't going to buy FM this year, but you won me back with the announced features.
After berating people for the first 6months...

These changes have been requested for years, they have only slowed down the development of these implementations. They sucked up everything possible with this match engine, and seeing that the pressure was huge for renewals, they announced that FM25 will have more radical changes. I hope it's not a new eFootball in terms of disappointed expectations.

Match engine looks great so far! Noticed a few clips where there's no shadows present 0:12 and 2:16 for example, hopefully they're just the normal work in progress bugs we sometimes see. When the match engine's lighting is on point such as 2:21 the difference is staggering. Really excited for FM24!
These are just specific changes, which could and should have already been implemented in previous versions. It's 2023, big FM channels like yours couldn't hype the game like that just to receive more likes and views, we can't make this community like FIFA fans. There's nothing great there, it was this praise that slowed down the development of the game's engine, because they understood that they didn't need much to please the general public.
@@2711af I was incredibly critical of last year's match engine, if you dont watch my content fair enough, but it seems silly to assume my stance on previous games based on this comment alone. Its ok to be excited for what they're showing now in terms of improvements, there's nothing to be gained by wishing it could have come sooner.
I don't want to seem rude, I'm just bringing a different point of view here. I follow your channel, but this exaggerated hype that the game engine is very good is not very appropriate. Play FM17 through 23 in a row and it doesn't take much to see that year after year the game only received a few specific finishes in terms of graphical improvements and implementations (enough for the game to be hyped). At least since FM2011 there have been many complaints on the forums about improvements that they only implemented ten years later, perhaps that's why people are complaining. I hope FM25 brings truly meaningful changes.@@WorkTheSpace
The match engine still looks poor to me. The stadiums, the fans, the players and match day experience is naff. I expect better improvements than minor tweaks. Last years edition was very poor and they have not made significant progress. Potentially fixing bugs or amending gameplay that should not of been in last years game should not qualify as a new game. They need to do better and not have to give hope that perhaps by fm 25 significant improvement will be made.

This looks like a true upgrade. It looks significantly better, did not expect this. Credit where it's due. Not only does the game look better graphically but I also instantly noticed that the ball moves much more realisticallyI'm buying the game this year. The way the ball moves at 2:20 when the through ball is played is so satisfying to watch. Please keep this up for next year as well with the new engine. Thanks for listening to us.
I think they have knocked this one out of the park. Like quite a few people have said already, it seems like they have listened to the FM community. I have pre-ordered my copy and I don't normally pre-order games for obvious reasons (false promises). I feel this has been a very transparent view of an up and coming game. Looking forward to the beta.

i love it! i buy your product once in 2-3 years normally and play my own pace, am a fan since first versions. For me it is important to see these changes and hard work behind it to buy another one. ill buy this one full price. you guys won the competition vs FIFA series for me. i prefer to be a manager ❤
Looks very nice! Hope you will consider making new newgens aswell! Both visually to make them look more realistic, but also being able to develop as they get older as they age. Imagine getting a player in as a 16 year old youth player, and seing him again after 20 years in the game as a coach. That would really help develop the "story" that you are creating in Football Manager. Keep up the excellent work - thank you.

This does look very much improved - iv not played since FM22 and i can definitely see the difference!
The last time i played FM was in 2013. Guess what the match engine still look the same in 2024. What an upgrade.
Kudos to the SI team, this is a real step forward graphically!
I see one major issue that remains: players still float or glide across the field. They move without taking actual steps and it happens pretty frequently in this video. If you can fix that it'll be another big step forward, but congrats on the progress we see here.
That's happened for years. They clearly can't fix it.
I wish you would have a camera that is from the dugout. I have wanted this every year. The day you do this, will make this a fully immersive simulation.

Match graphics is not something that improve the gameplay, its just eye candy… i hope that the valuation of players in lower competition has improved and can change during years past in the game to make the lower ranked competitions more interesting

I skipped FM23 for the lack of improvements. Although I still got to play it because I won in a giveaway. I was also going to skip this version, since the big revolution will be next year for FM25.
Now, seeing all of these improvements, I had to preorder it, something I hadn’t done in years now.
I wasn’t even considering buying it in the first place. But you guys at SI really surprised me. If all of these changes work properly, FM24 will definitely be a massive improvement on FM23.

I would say the answer is: No
With the latest October update that's coming soon for CM 01/02 they don't need to, but I still think that it would be nice thing to do. CM was made for playing, FM was made for making money.
FM24 is looking a big improvement over 23 and that does surprise me.
FM 25 is being made in unity so a completely new engine we might finally get fifa 06 graphics one can hope.

Still stuck in 22, hope dribbling animation get upped. Always want to see footwork the like of Neymar, Messi, and regens with 16+ dribbling.
This game without the dribling thing fixed is worthless, u have players with 19-20 drible and there is no skill whatsoever.
I buy a new version of FM every 3-4 years, I will definitely be picking up this years.

Other aspects like transfers, training, scouting, communication with the team and press, infrastructure improvement, and so on - work well. It would be great if matches would become more realistic, and you could see your tactical changes impact the game more сlearly and your footballers better react to your pre-match instructions.
Also, footballers' skills have to become more appropriate with their actions in game situations, so we don't have cases when a player with long shots skill 4-5 regularly scores goals from the outside of the box or something similar.
Please update the sound effects as well as they sound like they are from the 1980's!

This looks very promising, it's the first time in years I have been hyped for a new FM version.
I don't know why someone would make comments praising this ( In fact I do but let's be polite here and pretend I don't) when it's the same game year after year. If FM had a good competitor , it would push this company and it's devs to really improve the game. But there is not.
With the end of Fifa and PES, even though they are not the same genre, there is simply no other game for people into football to play, reason why they still sell this quite well. So they take full advantage of this and here is the result: Same game year after year.
It's a guaranteed win situation. They have basically zero need to spend a lot on development since it's gonna sell anyway and all they have to do is the same merchandising technique they always used: Hype the game even before there is a demo for it, release a simple footage claiming it's the most revolutionary game ever made and bingo: People with low critical thinking or just bored for the reason I mentioned above will buy it, even pre-order something they never tested and won't even care.

It looks like 5 years is a good gap between FM games. My last one was FM19, didn't want to buy until the match engine was better. This might be finally time to buy it.
Another thing to improve is the players constantly asking for new contract almost 6 months - 1 year. Really hate that bullshit!

Positional play is massive. I'm really hoping it's directly tied to player intelligence. I feel like the awareness and anticipation attribute has kinda been a let down.

Crowd still looks shit, FM14 had the best crowd, spread across the stadium more realistically, would be great if they added better crowds to make derby games feel like derby games, or those important games in the European cups, to make the atmosphere feel like it's an important game, I'm not asking for much, I'm sure this can be done without increasing system requirements... I don't mind the 3D engine, it looks good enough but would be good for the stadiums to look better along with the crowds, all stadiums in this game look like Arsenal's old stadium Highbury even when playing in Lithuania's 6th tier league... small details like this would definitely make the 3D engine look more enjoyable.

Congrats guys, its better than i though. Please, i have a suggestion since decades. DRIBLING. It seems the players cant drible at all, even when you edit and put all 20. You need a way to create a Ronaldo Nazario kind of player. Maybe puting extra numbers like in Fifa (special dribling ability). This player that can drible 4 or 5 players in a row and score.
Actually players cant drible almost one defense, so 2 or 3 is imposible. They only do when have free space and can run between some players, but this is not a real drible. Its the ability of run with the ball near feet and defenses cant steal the ball (like Messi).
Also speed and aceleration are not enough exagerated in Fm23 in my opinion.
In terms of pass the game overpass the reality to be honest, and its very beautiful to see those deeps pass. But my dream is see the same in driblings and speed. After 30 years playing, and being an adult with time limitation, i actually play for enjoy.
I remember very old versions where Neymar can drible more than actually (drible was like floating in the air but who cares, he was dribling nicely).
In spanish version Pcfootball since 98, we had Ronaldo Nazario Been Ronaldo and scoring goals dribling a lot of players..
