Back when I was going through HUGE hot flashes constantly and night sweats so bad during the night that I had to change my covers at times, I had one evening time that I got so pissed at something my boyfriend did that I lost my appetite and stopped eating at 6pm ( which was early for me) and went to bed angry as hell that night, and for some reason, quite counterintuitively, I slept all night long with no night sweats AT ALL!
So, I asked a physician friend of mine and she said, "Don't know, but do the same things, eat the same things and stop eating at the same time and see what happens", so I did exactly that...EXACTLY the same result! So, I experimented on the third evening and changed what I had for dinner, but still stopped eating at 6pm -SAME RESPONSE!
After experimenting for a week or so, I found out the earlier time I stopped eating in the evening time, the more I slept without night sweats at all. - This little change up made a 98% PERMANENT change in my night sweats- IT CHANGED MY LIFE, and have read since then that menapause can make you much more sensitive to hypoglycemia during that shift in life. Changing my time and what I ate for dinner changed my life instantly during menopause!👍

As a night snacker from way back, but mostly low carb for the past 3 years (prediabetic), I did a few nights in a row of not eating after 6pm and then check my morning fasting blood sugar the next morning. I can tell you it was the first time in a long time that it came back to the 4mmols (around 85 mg /dl) after a few days. Otherwise my morning fasting is mostly in the mid-5 and 6s mmols (100 - 110 mg/dl) which is heading for diabetes (prediabetes anyway, which is no better because it's all a compromised metabolism). I think I got the idea to try this after watching the video entitled "4 Keys to LOWER FASTING GLUCOSE - How to reduce blood sugar in the morning." by Beat Diabetes. Check out his videos. Anyway, lowering your blood sugar by doing keto and not eating after 6pm must have a direct effect on our hormones - insulin will be lower and that must make the levels of estrogen and progesterone more favourable.

@@cocosilkworm Interesting! I'm still trying to get through my head that insulin and hormones and all the stuff in the middle are actual HORMONAL!- When we grew up, the only hormones the majority of us understood or were taught are those tied to sexual stuff and old lady menapause. I'm also amazed how quickly our body can turn around and react to what we do and DON'T feed it.
I started taking potassium rich foods and stopped eating carbs and sugar ( along with some heavy repentence!🤪) and my BP dropped 50 points in a week PERMANENTLY, and it's now totally normal! Didn't know that could happen so quicky. -A construction friend did the same when I changed his diet up after being on BP meds since his 20s-in one week his bp changed to where it has never been EVEN ON THE MEDS, and now he needs to have his bp med prescription tweeked!
Thats a fast turnaround, and it convinced a bullheaded 60 yr old construction guy to change up his diet and now his whole body is changing. There's hope!
      Thanks cocosilk!

@@jody2873 It is hard to believe that we are all encouraged from young to eat things like sugary breakfast cereal and kids are always offered junk as a treat. I think it was a video on Dr. Sten Ekberg (here on YT) where he was talking about not just the addictive qualities of sugar, but also there is a protein in both wheat and in milk that act on receptors in the brain just like crack. Just think about that for a second and consider all those foods we have trouble staying away from and then it makes sense why. We are all addicts (including our children) and have to go through a withdrawal and consciously quit the habit with all of our willpower (or be pushed over the edge by serious illness usually..). Getting gestational diabetes was the eye-opener for me. But also understanding insulin, and insulin resistance and the consequences of that particular hormone being high all the time due to the constant assault from the carbohydrates is such a big part of the puzzle, isn't it? So good you managed to convince your friend to try it as well. I'm still on at my husband who is quite stubborn about it..

Thanks for the advice! I've been struggling with hot flashes for 7 years now. The past 3 years have been particularly bad, with them waking me up 6-8 times per night. I started keto 6.5 months ago, and started intermittent fasting 2 months ago, and sadly I now wake up 8-12 times per night! I am just dragging myself through each day. I started some supplements for hot flashes that Dr. Berg mentions in another video and they seem to be helping a little. Tonight, I'll be sure to stop eating by 6:00pm and continue doing that for the next 10 days and see what happens! After that, I have to start teaching again from 3:00-8:00pm 4 days a week, so I'm not sure how I'll manage that. But if your advice works for me, I'll figure it out! Thanks!!

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) works better though. It can even PERMANENTLY stop the flashes. When I use it for about three months (1oo proof tincture made myself, super cheap, a dropperful a few times a day), the flashes disappear for about 6-8 months completely. It also fixes high or low blood pressure (no, seriously. Look it up). Top that. :D It also stops heart palpatations and helps you work through (not supress) anger or rage that you might feel. I still have my mother, but a lot of menopausal women don't. Motherwort gives the feeling of sitting in the safety of your mother's arms as a small child when you're afraid of life, or just plain have anxiety due to hormones. My daughter also uses motherwort for cramps. There is an emotional component to motherwort as well as physical. Try it. Guaranteed to turn you into a lion heart. Safe for all ages and constitutions. It really does strengthen the heart and uterus.

I had the same surgery 12 years ago at age 39 for uterine cancer. Make sure to talk to an endocrinologist about what to do to help replacement of hormones. It’s very important for your heart, brain and your bones. I now have osteoporosis because my surgeon said no hormone replacement due to the cancer. The initial shock to your body with instant menopause is very hard, believe me I know. So many hot flashes I couldn’t count. Waking up at night multiple times to change due to being soaked in sweat. Now I only get one hot flash a day. It does get better over time, hang in there and take good care of yourself.

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Hormone positive. I have had a right breast mastectomy and 22 lymph nodes removed. 3 were cancerous. I was told technically iam cancer free what they can see but they still want to wack me with chemo, radiotherapy, bone fusion and anti hormone and to lower or block estrogen.
I already changed my diet as I did keto a few years back but lost to much weight so went back to carbs.
I often wonder changing my diet back to carbs and hormone patches have led to me having a slow growing lobular cancer.
I had to stop hrt immediately so had the hot flushes back within weeks.
Cold turkey now and having to take anti hormones for 8 yrs is very worrying. My poor heads battered by it all. Food is medicine which I greatly believe so incorporated into my daily life along with sage tablets to hopefully reduce my flushes.
I have refused chemo! . As its 50/50 chance it may come back it may not!
Even after chemo it's still possible it may return.
    I'am stage 2 with a grade 2.
    Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
