I’m part of the dark souls 2 community, and from my experience of the dlc for ER - it was exactly what I wanted from the game. Nothing that’s happened in the last 2 weeks has been a surprise for us veterans, and this debate went the exact way it has the last couple times we’ve had it. All according to plan. Oh and I can assure you us souls vets will *never* leave nor will some of us ever stop acting the way we do. Back in ds1 people would say “you didn’t *truly* beat the game till you do a ng+7 run” and they still technically do this to this day - stupid I know. But you might as well be arguing with a brick wall, so best to just tune them out.
People who refuse summons should not be saying game is to hard. Mimic literaly can almost solo mesmer if you put a flamedrake tailsman on. If you got skill great, if you dont use a mimic and there is easy mode. Not everyone can solo bosses its called a skill gap. I love exploration mainly and new weapons and have limited time so I use summons to have time to beat game idc if it makes bosses easier lol.
And finally people need to use stategy. First nameless keep boss, I struggled first 3x, then thought hes a human, great hunt will F this guy up. Used great hunt and easily beat him.
@@austin0_bandit05 i mean you can use bad summons that will scale fight; either non upgraded or just bad ones. So I disagree those are not the only two options

I'm level 167 and I'm butchering most enemies so far. 16 hours in the game. The blessings are really important.
Yea they help a ton
If I have time for 2nd playthrough like base game I will try a non summon run tho

mimic does not solo messmer
The problem is WHY people dont summon. It literally trivializes boss fights. Why are my options a stupid easy boss or a brutally difficult one?

dark souls community ruined the PVP as well, slowly asking for changes that essentially made it into Ds3 sword and board PVP .
I don’t understand why people demand “balance” for the pvp as if it’s a fighting game.
Dark Souls pvp was always there for some shit and giggles.
Devs literally addressed everything you cried about and said skill issue, boo hoo
Ive beaten the game with a slow ass greatsword + no summons man whatre you talking about
