The patience you hold throughout is very mature , the way you explained everything about the whole scenario without even disrespecting the makeup artist . On your big day you were left unanswered and at the same time your partner comforting you is your biggest win .
I understand how you weren't able to do your makeup yourself though you nail it thousand times more good then him. He charged you a good amount of money and gave you so much tension in return .
I can't imagine what happenes to those who are unable to do their makeup and despite of knowing you were not able to do I really really really feel you.
This incident of yours truly teaches us to learn from the situation and have a plan B on the D day if plan A doesn't works . It's really really unprofessional to take the whole lot money n not showing up on time.
She has Missed the whole 4/5 hours of her wedding day and feel the whole vibe of it.
When a girl gets married she, her parents, her friend her relatives are so much happy and waits for the bride's arrival n see her live every moment where everyone comes congratulates her showers blessings and everything.
I had a chat with this makeup artist years back for knowing about his charges for my wedding which would happen in a couple of months then. Trust me he was soo annoying to chat with n then repeatedly kept asking me when am I going to book him. I said wait , let my date get fixed first. He got so pissed he blocked me lol His attitude was so pathetic. Thank God I didn’t go ahead with him and did my own makeup for my wedding 🫣
getting gaslighted, cheated and overpaying is the new trend in the industry now due to some unruly and immoral unprofessional who are running the industry just to make money, had similar experience at my native on my sisters wedding paid for both didn't like the outcome was pitched for high-end products but got all basic below grade products not happy with the look at all overpaid but yess due to being very late at the venue we couldn't say or do anything just like you and its a trauma that had scarred the most joyous day of our life!

Exactly this is how he cheats people. I took his makeup classes and over call before joining he told me that his fees would be 20k but on the last day he changed his statement and said his fees is 30k so I would’ve to pay 10k more, such type of cheaters should be strictly boycotted. There are thousands of MUAs out there who aren’t fraud like him so let’s just boycott this guy who cheats everyone lol he could’ve said that he needs money we could donate but just look at the way he cheats and breaks one’s trust and specially someone’s big day.
Ik for people like him people doubt other make up artist as well who are actually genuine, love their work, talnted and who are responsible enough .

I’m a makeup artist I take only one slot for evening because usually I don’t like rushing things with my bride even if I earn less I make sure I do the best and so far I’ve received best compliments touchwood my suggestion to other mua would be that you should not run after money and build a brand instead build a connection with your clients

I feel so sorry for what you had to go through on your big day. And whatever he did afterwards ( asking for remaining payment to delete your video) was just awful. You're so brave to have dealt with all that on your special day❤
I thought of booking him for my wedding. I had a talk with him and asked for a demo session just so I can understand if he’s capable of doing what I want… first of all he was charging 15k for the trial makeup which is way too much when I told him that other makeup artists are literally charging one third of the amount he simply told me to book some other makeup artist which I feel is very rude… Now after watching this video I just feel so blessed that I didn’t book him for my wedding day…
I also asked him for trail makeup, he said 15K and I requested him to get it done for 7.5K he refused and said why are you thinking so much, don't worry I will do exactly how you want on the big day.
I m not taking his side but when you put other examples in front of someone. their self respect comes up. That's why he said it

IM a makeup artist and for 15 k wala package we only charge 2-4k for trial makeup 2k for half face and 4k for full as the products in that package is expensive! Rest of the package 1k ! 🙂 Some artist are just not done!

I 1000% agree,, ki always listen to brides or clients ,, as a makeup artist , actually a self taught makeup artist, my 1st priority is what the client want .. always I have in my mind, I have to do the look according the client's preferences. I feel so sorry to listen this ,, but thank God, I did my wedding look all my own,, again it's clear ,, its not always good what you see on social media.

As a professional Makeup Artist I suggest all the brides out there to ask for any id proof from the freelance makeup artist so if they even gonna do some fraud you should have their every minute details to file any case

Just looking at him work shows he’s such a mess. I feel really sorry for what you had to go through. Wedding is something we plan very meticulously and I understand how it feels as a bride when it cannot be executed. As an artist myself we intentionally do not take multiple bookings just to dedicate full time to the bride because it’s HER day. We wait for hours to ensure everything is going fine. But what he has done is outrageous and unprofessional.
Really sorry you went through this, no one deserves that stress. Girls please do a makeup trial with makeup artist isse hygiene issue wagera sab clear ho jayega, and never pay full amount in advance.

Hat's off to you, how you handled the day! I had similar experience with my photographer team. Such people should be sued for ruining the most important day of our lives by their unprofessional behaviour. We as customers should come up with contract/ agreement to cover such incidents. Otherwise they have made marriage a business, exploiting people. Only legal contract can make them be professional just like we have at other work place. One should sign agreements stating everything clearly. Right from all clothing styles decided to makeup to be used, payment, timings, everything!!!
I saw your wedding makeup photos and your content videos. You yourself do a very good, elegant makeup. Even in this video you have done a very glam look better than what he did on your wedding day.
I had booked a makeup artist, but I just didn't like her work on the final day, I just washed my face and did it myself! Lucky are those who get good makeup artists on their big day!

It has happened to me. I can feel this video very closely. Your bridesmaid “Himani” I am sorry I don’t know her name correctly. Her sister got married and we shared the same MUA. That MUA she had been 4 hours late to my wedding too. Absolutely ruined my day. I didn’t know how to do my makeup back then and that inspired me to learn makeup post wedding. Today I am working as a bridal makeup artist and I MAKE SURE that I do not get late or be unprofessional/Rude to any of my bride.

This is just so scary, hats off to you Sohini that you still waited for him amidst so much tension and panic. The problem is these so called renowned make up artists take as many bookings they can on jam packed wedding dates but they don't calculate the travel time, delay due to traffic and other unavoidable reasons which is why they mostly cannot maintain the timings agreed. Considering the minimum time it takes for a bridal makeover to be done, I feel they should stick to the number of bookings they can easily complete without causing the brides any inconvenience in their big day.

I feel so sorry. I'm a professional makeup artist. I'm very new in this profession and Rajiv Bhowmick is one of the makeup artists I've been following. Can't imagine that such a renowned makeup artist can be so unprofessional. Being a make up artist you've to be professional and compassionate. I can totally feel her anxiousness, my make up artist booked so many brides that day, we all were at her salon and mind u its a very renowned makeup artist of surat charging me 25k, we were 25 brides that day m not at all exaggerating and thr was so much chaos at that place, i was panicking like hell, they did such basic makeup, didnt do eyz how i asked them to do, it was a horrible experience, till date i hate my wedding pics, its a once in a lifetime thing and they ruined it for me

No I'm not getting married but dii it's a serious problem for 👰 brides nowadays, these so called high profile MUA using there fame in such a bad way and disrespecting their own clients. Yes I agree that not all the makeup artist are like him but many of them are doing this.
It's better to do your makeup by your own and if u booking any MUA for this so kindly research abt them properly coz it's your money and energy which u r putting, so it's better to be careful.

My wedding day was just after one week of yours, 15th December it was. And my MUA was one of the sweetest person I've ever met. But right now, it is so terrible to watch your video. Hats off to you, that you were trying to handle the situation so calmly. It is not about you know about make up, it's all about control your emotions and extreme panic level. My mua supposed to come at 1-1.30. And I had started to call her just after my gaye holud was done which was 12.15, with same query every time "kotodur ele? R kotokhon lagbe amar bari aste according to gmap"? And my goodness, what would someone do like me, who is completely blank about makeup. I'm really felling so terribly tensed when I'm trying to imagine your situation. And about your make up artist, only one thing I want to say..... Karma always pays back.

I can completely relate with you.. I faced the same issue with a different makeup artist on my the day.... Even my husband was so pateint... I reached my venue at around 7.30 and my logno was from 6.30 to 9pm... Jaihok at the end of the day amr bor ar amar didi na thakle i don't know ki kortam ami... Amar entire makeup ta dekhe bojha jachilo kono mote kora hoeche cz tarahuro chilo and amr complexion aaro dark kore diechilo... Amar reception e tototai bhalo experience i was in love with my look... Of course alada makeup artist chilo
i know nothing about makeup but this is exactly why i'll learn and do everything by myself for all important events. 25k is a ripoff especially when he is bringing no product or things of his own.

I can understand my wedding day makeup was completely ruined by MUA....I wish I could have done it by myself.
I absolutely understand the situation. Similar thing happened to me. I was late to reach the makeup artist due to huge traffic. It was a horrible situation.
I can feel your situation because I faced a similar one. It was Deb*y*n M*tra. I am from the outskirts of Kolkata and he is a budding MUA. So he took my booking but at the same time he took another booking of some posh wedding at Hyatt or something like that. And his mother and another girl were his assistants. He sent both of them and himself came 5 hrs late. I panicked because my groom, his family and all guests had arrived and the wedding lagna was passing out. Plus once it was done I rushed to the wedding venue, could not click bridal pictures as it was late. And his mother harassed me for the payment. I paid them the rest of the money the next day.
In my opinion, MUA for such big events should only be booked from personal reference. Otherwise, MUAs with amazing social media profiles are not very reliable. May be not all of them are like this, but people like this are spoiling the name of MUAs.

I can't even begin to express how disappointed I am with what happened on my engagement day. You know, the make-up artist (Not disclosing the name) and I have known each other for a long time, and I've always recommended her to my friends for their special events. Thanks to me, she gained 5-6 new clients. So naturally, I expected her to be incredibly supportive when it was my turn.
She even offered to charge me less, but that is not an excuse for behaving unprofessionally with me as I had not asked for a single rupee concession from her. I didn't bargain or negotiate with her at all as I wanted her to give me the best services happily.
I repeatedly asked the make-up artist about the timing for me to arrive at the venue so I could reach on time, and she was always so casual, saying she would let me know and not to worry about it. But even on the day of the event, she didn't inform me. After several follow-ups, at 1:30 PM, she suddenly asked me to be at the venue by 2 PM. I was elsewhere at the time, busy managing my event all on my own without much support. I rushed home, hadn't even had lunch, and we had arranged lunch for everyone at a restaurant. I was prepared to go without eating, but my family insisted I have something first. So I quickly ate at the restaurant and reached the venue by 2:40 PM.
When I arrived, the make-up artist immediately started complaining about my lateness. She rushed through my makeup and told me that her assistant would take care of my hair and saree draping. I was already under a lot of stress since it was my engagement day, and I wanted everything to be perfect. But her assistant was barely 20 years old, and that added to my anxiety. She struggled to recreate the hairstyle I had asked for, and when I voiced my concerns, she was incredibly rude. She made comments about how the hairstyle wouldn't look good on me compared to the girl in the picture as the girl in the picture was much prettier than I. It hurt me deeply, and I couldn't hold back my tears.
Somehow, I managed to compose myself and got my hairstyle done, but it took a lot of time. This left us with no time for the photographs, which was heartbreaking. The make-up artist's assistant also did the makeup for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, but they were unhappy with the results. Let me tell you, their make up was charged separately. She didn't even help them properly drape their sarees.
The event was delayed, and I couldn't change into my ball gown until the rituals were over. The assistant kept coming to me, asking my permission to leave. My dress was heavy, and I couldn't change without her assistance. I had to plead her multiple times to stay. It was an incredibly stressful situation for me, and it completely ruined my engagement day.
I can't emphasize enough how unethical the make-up artist's behavior was, especially coming from someone I trusted and even helped in good faith.

I don't know whether you know Madhav Purkait. He came on time but his team was late for some other bride. He received at least 50 calls during my make over. He totally blasted my make over. He burnt my saree . My mum carried a lipstick so I could change my lip color. He didn't even tell me that he burnt it. I came to know when I was undressing. Next morning I called him ,he charged me less. But money is not the main factor you know. That tension...that feeling... that's gone

My mehendi artist did something similar... he wasted half of my time of my sangeet...I could perform only once...still my whole leg portion was incomplete he was so slow and he came so late...I literally cried while getting ready ...and till date I feel so bad that I couldn't enjoy my own sangeet because I love dancing....and that's my favourite part on any wedding....but I can't even imagine what you must have went through because it's your main day❤️❤️❤️ more power to you girl❤️❤️❤️you are such a strong gurl
