    Thank you for your detailed explanation. For my home audio project I did use a car head unit with high quality car speakers in enclosed baffles without knowing the vas, fs or qts, but the sound quality turned out very well. I hit on the right parameters without knowing it.

    Back in the day I put a pair of radio shack Mach 2 15 inch speakers in my car on a 70+70 Sherwood they sounded great

      Haha, same here man. Back in the day, bought some Radio Shack woofers and horn tweeters, put together this speaker box I loosely copied from a JBL live stage box, used it for my electric drums and DJ events. Not only did they sound good, but a few people asked if I could turn them down! Buddy and I did a comparo on his Peavy speakers, mine sounded "richer" with deeper bass wereas the Peavy's were too trebely. Yeah, there's always going to be somebody that will say, don't do it this way, or do it this way only, hey, just build a good box and good speakers will sound amazing.

    Based on experience i've already used car audio speakers in home and i've also used them in a ported box with no problem reguardless the ohm ratings since the the amp that i drive them is capable of 4 ohms to 16 ohms

    Thank you. It was very informative. I've used old 6" Infinity Kappa and 6,5" PowerBass aftermarket speakers from my car to build home sealed subwoofer. When it was only a box without perfect sealing it was great, but after seal everything with glue and silicone one woofer is making rattling noise at higher volume. This car speaker don't have dust cap from factory so I suppose that rattling noise is from this reason. Best regards from Poland.

      Thanks for watching and commenting.
      Maybe when the box was not sealed, inside air pressure did not rise as much than now after sealing everything and that could bring out the weak points. Examine can you see any loose things on that speaker.

      You should learn to build a proper cabinet first. and make sure everything in there is secure. Keyword here is "proper". You can build one according to the specs of the drivers you're using it just can't be a piece of shit box...

    Thanks for the information. Is it possible to calculate or estimate the TS parameters of an unknown driver? (Assuming you have the driver available to take any necessary measurements.)

    • @BoarAudio
      @BoarAudio  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you can use DATS or REW with diy measuring "cables" to do impedance sweep and calculate T/S parameters.

    In India car speakers are more cheap than home speakers , mostly people can’t afford buying expensive home audio speakers and also there are only two or three international brands available here 😞☹️

    I've used car subwoofers in home. They sounded good but rattles whole floor doors and windows and audible bass was less than expected.

    • @BananaMonth
      @BananaMonth Год назад +6

      That is because the subwoofer must be a low bass subwoofer rather than a loud bass one
      Low bass plays in lower frequencies like 20hz-150/200hz. Such bass can only be felt(tactial bass) and not be heard.
      Loud bass subwoofer plays upto 1k hz which you can hear
      I hope it's clear
      Cheers

    I have a Home Audio component Sony, (sony genezi)
    I want replace the OEM Sony speakers damaged with a new JBL or Cerwing Vega, amplifier is 4 Ohms, so is not hard to find speakers same impedance, then I imagine no problem with that, the RMS in the apmplifier are aprox 275W, - just I don't know if replace the tweeter or not, using so: JBL 6" with crossover + tweeter, or just the cone 8" . (00)?

    There's differences but there very minor and both types can crossover on both spectrums if done correctly.....hence Focal Audio,Harmon Audio,ect

    I would like to build an in home speaker enclosure for 2 alpine s-s65 6.5" speakers. They will be accompanied by an 8" subwoofer so I don't need much base from the 6.5" speakers. If I want to use them for mids and highs should I put them in an enclosure or just leave the back of the box open? If enclosed should I go sealed or vented? I wrote alpine to get the qts and vase numbers and still waiting for thise.

    Hi Can I use car subwoofers and tweeters for a church hall: the costs are three times less. Thanks

    • @BoarAudio
      @BoarAudio  2 года назад

      You can, and if designed and installed correctly can work ok. But look if you can find a source that sells cheap PA drivers. There is cost effective drivers for PA if you can find them, and they can make your installation easier and results better.

    Hi friend can i use a home speakers without amp on car radio?

    • @BoarAudio
      @BoarAudio  2 года назад +1

      Probably yes, car radios can handle 4 ohm speakers fine, and many home drivers are that or higher so no problem there. 6:58

    I've also put mini hifi speakers to my car back doors
    They were old and had no use while my back doors speakers broke
    It's been a while they work fine little bit less powerful bc they are 6ohm and my stereo is 4ohm otherwise they work fine

    Can I use the home theater amplifier on the after market car back door speakers as I believe the home theater has a very good single channel digital lpf cut amplifier to make the rear component speakers produce bass only

    • @BoarAudio

      Most of the AV receivers are 4 ohm stable, if that is true for you model also, you can use it without worry.

    Мораль в этой теме простая. Хочешь сделать домашнюю акустику 2.0 из автомобильных динамиков, покупайте только широкополосные динамики. Никакие другие тут не подойдут.

    If one has two brain cells to rub together then impedance isn't an issue, and drivers "for car audio" work perfectly well in HT but you cannot be a nitwit. If you don't understand speakers and how they work you shouldn't be doing diy builds at all! As long as you build an enclosure that matches the T/S params and your amp can handle the impedance you're perfectly fine...
