Hi, I’m his youngest daughter, Julie Stapleton. He is 91 now, has vascular dementia and in Sarah Claydon nursing home at Milton. His paintings, sketches, designs snd windows will be sold online at Lawsons auctions around easter 2022. Both his daughters are artists.
Hi Julie. Thank you for this update. We are sad to hear of your father's condition. Good luck with the auction and all the best to the family. He did great work.
Hi Julie, thank you for letting us know and our condolences for your loss. Your dad was a skilled artist and hopefully this little film will help keep his name and work alive. All the best.
Kevin is still alive and he is my great uncle I’ve been in his workshop before and he is so kind he also draws, he is truly amazing, I am a artist and I think I get my creativity from him
Hi ParArdua, thanks for your comment. We are uploading a particular series we have called Artisans Of Australia made in the mid 1980s. There are 6 episodes that are being uploaded in order 1 - 6. We obviously can't change the subject matter of the films as they were made but take your point on the bias towards male artists and artisans as subjects in general. Episode 6 in this series features Interior decorators and restorers Elizabeth Stevens and Christine Cooke. Episode 2 showed a female apprentice learning the craft of stone masonry, although she was in no way the focus of the film. There are only episodes 5 and 6 in this series to go and they will be uploaded soon. There may be other films in the collection that feature female artists / artisans but we don't always have the rights to upload everything we hold to RUclips and not everything in the collection is digitised and available in that accessible format. We aim to upload as much of the collection as we can so hopefully we will have more content featuring women and their work / art when we can.
This bloke would have restored Notre Dame in 3 months.
Aussie restoration at its finest.
Thanks NFSA 👍
You're welcome. Kevin closed his Arncliffe studio in 2015. It was started in 1905 by his Grandfather.
More artisan content, please! Love this stuff.
3 more episodes to go in this series of 6. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@NFSAFilms good video and can’t wait to see the others.
Absolutely stunning work. Sadly it’s all being lost.
Brilliant! These craftsman or artists are fantastic in their jobs. We owe a dept to them for keeping our history alive. 👍🏻🇦🇺

Hey Julie! It's your cuz Kelley here. He is absolutely amazing to watch. His hands must have been like leather! R.I.P. Uncle Kevin.
@@NFSAFilms hi, just letting you know, sadly, Dad (Kevin) passed away yesterday, 7th March.
Hi Julie, thank you for letting us know and our condolences for your loss. Your dad was a skilled artist and hopefully this little film will help keep his name and work alive. All the best.
Good video and very interesting.
Wow amazing work
Fabulous video!
Did visit his workshop in the late 80's. The lead! ☠☠☠
Kevin Little describes his work as tedious but in reality it's just one big pane in the Apse
Bloody marvellous.
I remember a doco about marbling ink patterns on book bindings years ago. Any chance you've got it in your archives?
Great.
I wonder if Kevin passed his skills to a son or grandson? Is he still alive?
Kevin closed his business in 2015 after three generations had worked there. He was 85 at the time. Both of his daughters are artists.
@@NFSAFilms 👍 I was curious

fresh!
Seriously, can you not find ANY film of one of the many women artists or artisans?
Every new film, same old story.
