Season 4 is in full swing! This build is still the go-to for Enhance in keys, so this guide remains up to date! Here's some of my videos on Season 4 if you're curious or wanting to come back if you stopped: Returning Player's Guide to Season 4: ruclips.net/video/awFkiKqZ5io/видео.html SpeedGearing Alts Explained: ruclips.net/video/PCNlqmdGyQQ/видео.html Shrouded Affix Guide: ruclips.net/video/6PTD47dgFh4/видео.html
I must've watched a few dozen guides on enhancement and this one is by far the best. Excellent intro-- right to the point, clear and concise, and funny. Thanks for making it.
This is the best explanation of how to play a class I have ever seen. I've watched countless guides across multiple games in the 15 years or so I've played cooperative / competitive games. The pacing, illustration and reasoning are 10/10. Keep doing what your doing if you are enjoying yourself my friend you deserve far greater coverage and I'm sure you get a subscriber from most if not all people who view your content. Thank you!
Wow tysm! Definitely more on the way, for now I'm just doing the classes I am the most confident with since I expect the patch and the expansion to be wrapping up soon-ish. But in dragonflight my goal is to do guides like this for nearly every single spec :D
It’s so refreshing to see a video that efficiently lays out priority, explains reasoning and points out what not to be distracted by. By far the most useful enhance video I have seen and done in half the time (or less). Well done!
Ty! I'm gonna do so much more teaching-style stuff like this dragonflight it'll be amazing i promise. Kinda on cruise control right now since I think developing content on shadowlands might be too much stress considering it ends in a couple months
For me, this is one of the best guides I’ve ever seen for any wow class/spec. I really like showing the icons as it helps me remember what I need to do. I’ve started out with resto shaman, then switched to elemental. But I’ve been accumulating enhancement gear so I would like to give that a go. This guide helps tremendously. Thank you so much.
Wow. This has got to be the highest quality guide I've seen in a VERY long time. Easy sub. Please don't stop. I will definitely check out your other content.
For someone getting back into the game, I've watched a few guides (Warrior and BM Hunter). This guide is short, sweet and to the point... and probably more informative than any other video I've seen. Very well done, sir.
Thanks for this guide! I started playing enhancement for s4 and was quite lost. Your explanation of why we press the buttons we press and when really helped me understand the spec and improve my gameplay.
Outstanding guide. As a shaman lifer I thought I knew what I was doing on enh, but I still learned something. I can't believe I've been in such a rush to cast my free primordial waves that I was wasting the haste buff by refreshing a buff only a couple of seconds later. You ever been doing something for a long time and then someone points something out to you and you have no idea why you didn't think of it yourself? This is one of those times. Great work.
Happy I could help! I'm happy that I was able to offer knowledge even though you already play the class :D a part of my process of making the guides is going over 1-2 month old recordings of myself playing the spec and seeing what I did wrong back then, then trying to sneak tips in to make sure others don't make the same mini mistakes, so very happy it landed well
I want to try out enhancement and this might be the best guide that I've ever seen for a class. I love that you blur out the background gameplay while explaining the effects and rotation and only show it when relevant
This is the best spec guide video I have ever watched (and I've watched a lot) for any class. The "why do this" section is amazingly helpful. Thank you so much for your work on this.
Tyvm! I’m doing the classiest I’m most confident with personally first, I recommend checking Petko out on RUclips he does great elemental guides, he’s rank 1 in M+ score iirc Ele is decently far down in my list I’ve been going hard enhance and resto this patch, I expect to have WAY more and better guides in Dragonflight tho :D
As an enhancement shaman main I applaud you for this amazing guide. Straight to the point while highlighting the most important stuff. Very well done Kevin! Now I want your enemies plate profile pls :D
After reading multiple guides and watching few other videos I think I finally get it Used to be a ele /restro main , got weapons and decided to try out enha..could not break 20k aoe dps ..now I see what I did wrong:)
Hey dude absolutely love the video and this has helped me so much with doing better at enhance in m+. You’ve gained a new sub! I was also just wondering if you could share your player profile? It’s very clean and is exactly what I’m looking for yet haven’t been able to find anything.
Hey! Happy you enjoyed the video, unfortunately the UI is 99% not made by me, it’s all by twitch.tv/Atrocity I just have tiny customizations to his stuff
Hey thanks! Chain lightning is your main AOE spender. However because you use maelstrom for lightning bolt for the primordial wave interaction, and having hot hands trumps spending any maelstrom at all. It was hard for me to put it anywhere in the priority list at 8:52 without having 10 difference exceptions. Basically when you have >5 maelstrom you spend on chain lightning in AOE, however you also need to keep in mind to not spend that 5 then have to rebuild 5 for primordial wave, so make sure you watch primordial's CD. and if there's just a couple seconds on it and the pack isn't dead and you want to use primordial for the haste buff, you may want to not spend on chain and instead hold the maelstrom a couple seconds for the bolt. Also remember once again that hot hands is such a high contributor to your damage that its ok to overcap maelstrom to properly use hot hands. As you get more comfortable in the class it'll start to make sense exactly where you can spend on what but that's the skill cap of enhance - managing the fast on the fly decision making. TL;DR spend on chain lightning whenever you have more than 5 maelstrom but don't let it affect proper usage your other buffs or procs.
The plan for dragonflight is to do it for most specs. Over the course of shadowlands I've played 31 specs to KSM+ in keys so if the pattern continues I'll be able to do most if not all :D
Hey! Glad you enjoyed! My UI is all from twitch.tv/atrocity - I believe a sub is required tho. But it’s like an all-in-one thing not just an import string I highly recommend. I don’t know him personally he’s a pro in Liquid.
Hey I don’t think I’ll do a raid one just because the affix this season confuses raid builds a lot since a lot of single target fights now have another target. Or many other targets. I’ll just be looking towards dragonflight for raid stuff now 😄
Awesome guide, noticed you are using AtrocityUI, any idea on how to remove the stormstrike proc visual? it appears right on my maelstrom bar and is super annoying
Hey yea, head to Interface -> Combat -> Spell Alert Opacity and slide it off Edit: this will turn it off for all classes I just used a weak aura to re-add the fire mage alert cuz that’s the only one I wanted to keep
Mayyyyybe, but Petko on youtube already has crazy Elemental guides that are far more details and experienced than I could ever make. I'd check him out for those :D
I really like your guide! I was looking for something like this vor my shammy. But shouldn‘t Crash Lighting be prioritised before Frostshock and Firenova in single target situations just because of the on hit effect from the spell? You can trigger windfury imbue and probably can generate a maelstrom stack when you use Crash Lighting while Frost Shock and Fire Nova only deals damage
With a good dice roll, crash lightning will outperform fs/fn. but with a bad dice roll it’s much worse. I made the priority lists with a goal to balance between simplicity and performance. The reason I was sorta pushing frostshock as an ability to press is because another thing I noticed was new enhance players sitting in their downtime after pressing CL. So my goal was to get people accustomed to pressing frostshock for damage and then bring up the nuance again in an advanced guide later on Hopefully this makes sense but I’m open to feedback if this is a braindead approach, lmk edit: So I went and looked at some of the highest dps logs comparing people who use crash lighttning vs frost shock first. the frost shock users are getting about 2k more damage per global spent on those fillers. Over the course of 5 mins for example, you will have on average 15 decisions to make between fs and cl, if you pick CL its about 1k damage per global up to 1.8k per global if you count the resources it might give. However frost shock is gonna be about 2.9k per global consistently. So in theory CL could be better if it always gave you resources and proc'd stormbringer every single time. but in practice it really isn't and is much lower value than frost shock in terms of raw throughput.
In my opinion, first sigil + soleahs/elegy is the best combo. However if you think you won't get good value out of the 5min sigil, you can go IQD instead. And if that's still too long of a CD to properly maximize its value you can just go soleahs + elegy for completely passive stats. There are lots of good trinkets tho besides those 3 so to I'd equip and compare in keys what you feel you like better and/or can properly use the best.
We do tab target and lavalash, watch from around 5:41. Lashing flames doubles the damage of flameshock. Then peep 1:30 and you’ll see flame shock is a LOT of our damage so mismanaging lashing flames will cost you greatly.
This guide is very fine 🙂 I just have one question. Why is my damage so low? I put my fire totem down, then I run to the mobs and start the rotation. Is it me or the fire totem that is messing up? Please help me. I get kicked from so many guilds
Not very good, nightfae in pvp is pretty lackluster, fae transfusion will get kicked and also PLA requires many sustained targets to be good. I got to just over 2k playing venthyr + wolf bones but that was before the nerfs. I'd have to imagine necrolord + witch doctor wolf bones is probably the way to go if venthyr isn't good anymore, but honestly, elemental/resto might just be better to push higher into Elite ranks. Check out the website murlok.io it shows the top builds people are running per class/spec/race/gamemode.
If you don't get procs and generally have less than ideal RNG, frost shock is better to press than just waiting on something else. It won't make or break your damage but it will add up to a couple extra % over a key.
CL isn't irrelevant on ST. CL can proc stormbringer. You are basically using CL to fish for a SB proc. I would say not to use FN as anything but a last resort filler on ST. It's prio is really only on 4+ mobs.

This is probably the best wow guide I've seen for any class. This is up there with the best guides I've seen for anything in any game period.
one of the very few times i actully like a video because it helped me tremendously understand my twink finally.

This is easily the best video i've ever seen about how to play with and how a spec works. BY FAR.
