Yes! I am Canadian but I bought it off Amazon - its Miss Sweet brand Nail Dust Collector I have had mine for about 3 years, its honestly OKAY, there are way better ones out there, but if you are on a budget definitely go for this one, I bought replacement filters recently and it does still work really well with the new filters. www.amazon.ca/Miss-Sweet-Electric-collector-Manicure/dp/B07MZ9DM94/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=1ERHFRECVGMIS&keywords=miss+sweet+nail+dust+collector&qid=1686526237&sprefix=miss+sweet+%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTEZOUURNODIwN1ZWJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTc1NDY4SzhWT0w2S0s3WVpBJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4MTg0NzkxQ0JRVkpOQkhYS0c2JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
When doing BIAB on short nails its so hard to cap them and then they end up cracking or lifting from the free edge while still very adhered to the rest of the nail. Any tips?
For me, I honestly do not focus on capping the free edge with product, I like to make sure there is thick enough product that there is strength and not too thin that the nail will bend SUPER easily, I do recommend finish filing its better to apply slightly too much product, then file it down a bit and take into consideration your colour gel or design you are applying, I try to make sure that if I am doing full colour to do thinner BIAB application since the colour will make it thicker, I really only CAP the free edge when I do topcoat. I do not focus on capping when applying colour as well as it can bulk up the free edge too much and I sometimes loose my whole shaping that I worked so hard on. It becomes like thick and rounded. If your application is that beautiful middle ground of not too thick and not too thin it will be ok. That really is 50% of it, the other 50% is your client and HOW they use their nails, I have some clients who are SOOO rough with their nails I have to do thicker BIAB application for that purpose since I want their nails to bend less. If your client loves to pick at things, just ask them but not in a judgemental way, in a do you like to pick at things? your skin, labels, etc. (I am a skin picker for sure so I try to say like yeah me too) and go on to explain how with a nail enhancement repeated pressure on the nail over time will cause cracking, just like if someone taps their nails constantly it will cause breakage over time - similar to how a windshield cracks after repeated hits from rocks. Its not impenetrable, eventually it will break. (sorry for the long ass reply but I hope this helps) Feel free to reach out via DM on Instagram too @_nailsbymeesh :)
