  • Philips makes some pretty decent headphones at competitive prices. Specifically, I think both the X2HR and the SHP9600 are pretty good for the money. If you’re looking to pick between the two, this video may help you out.

    I looked at the review and once again I was convinced - how different we are all! ))) I ordered Philips SHP9600 according to various reviews - these were my first open headphones. Comfortable fit, great view, huge stage - Wow! And then the sound ((( as if cotton balls were put in my ears ((( - there is simply no high frequencies, just like there is no upper middle - darkness ((( That's how I heard 9600. I tried to get used to it for a week, but still sent them back I ordered a Sennheiser HD 599 - my ears popped open and the plugs pulled out! All the frequencies are in place, everything sounds like I like it, but ... I compared the HD 599 with my daughter's Sennheiser HD 560S headphones. They seemed to me even more detailed , clearer in some genres (jazz, blues, classical), and I began to think to buy another headphones... The choice also arose between Sennheiser HD 560S and Philips Fidelio X2HR - which are now a little cheaper than Sennheiser... They are often compared and I would like not to the same as my daughter's") And now I'm watching this review - where the author likes the sound of 9600. And I understand - this is also a hint for me - if he likes what I don't like, then you need to understand everything the other way around))) No X2HR, only Sennheiser ))) Thank you for helping me identify make a choice ;)

    Enjoyed the review. Some ideas, maybe change the deskmat from the square meshed black to something possibly lighter coloured or even just plain white. It'll make the items you review a lot easier to see for viewers and give them less eye fatigue. Also solid colours instead of mesh will benefit the encoding of your video with RUclips compression. Camera and audio is great otherwise. You'll grow fast. ❤️

    I have the 9600's and I've enjoyed them but I've thought for awhile with replacing them. Looking at the x2hr, HD599, and HD58x. My biggest issue with the 9600 is (to me) they lack life, some music can come off sounding hollow. When more is going on in a track the overall sound quality seems to drop. Some tracks they sound amazing, but in other parts of the same song they can sound flat, the song can lose some of the life it had.
    I don't really know how to put it into words, but when the 9600 work with a song they work well, other times it just sounds a little unnatural. I'm kinda looking for something with more clarity, yet warmth, with some decent bass (I have other bass headphones) so I don't need crazy just something that is alright when a song has bass notes.
    The 9600 are good, and I loved them when I got them, I still kinda do love them but it seems as the treble gets higher the clarity gets worse. When a lot of different sounds are happening at once (especially treble) they lose a bit of clarity and all the individual sounds that sounded great than sound muddy and I can no long pick out the different notes.

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  3 года назад +3

      Haven’t heard the 599, but the 58x and X2HR definitely have more “life” than the 9600 (both have too much for me). I’m not sure either of those are that technically superior though. What’s your budget?

    I have the 9600 on offer from UAS was way cheaper than buying in UK and I get the x2hr in the Amazon sale for 90 POUNDS a couple weeks back. I have boxed them up today, I kept a b’ing them with my 9600s so much I didn’t have any time to listen to my new 6xx’s. I really like them and I don’t. Maybe it is the timbre I found the lower treble esp with vocals too sparkly and also very exciting, basically I don’t know why I don’t like them. I shall put in a forward order for a pair for six months by the sound of it as I am sure when I send them back I will be wondering if I should have kept them.

    Huh? You wear headphones for a "couple of hours a day" -- and that makes them comfortable? How about wearing them for 8-10-12 hours a day. Still comfortable then? Length of this "comparison" is almost 14 minutes! Should have been edited down to 3 minutes max. And then I'm being generous. Also, here is a thought: if you don't really know exactly what you are going to say for almsot 14 minutes or even just 3 minutes, maybe write down a TEXT OF THE NARRATION and just read that. No shame in doing that, right? All I wanted to learn was which of these 2 have a larger earpad. Could not even learn that. Whatever. On to the other comparisons.
