I had no issues with the hardware installed but it's nice to see a physical mod video because I may wear out the stick on mine in the future. Really cool system I am so happy with it, can't put it down lol
After a two-month wait, I finally got all my Seimitsu parts in. Today I Seimitsu-ized my ASP following your instructions. It was my first time doing any kind of mod, but the modding was easy and everything works as it should now. Thanks a lot for this clear and concise video. Much appreciated.
Ahhhhhhhh so you're the reason I FINALLY decided on the LS56, and it was SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!!!! Haha. Great video, makes me feel better knowing I ordered a stick that you ended up recommending in your video. Very new to this but trying to learn. Am I supposed to be this excited about getting a new stick in the mail? Because holy crap I'm excited 🤣 thank you so much for the video and mentioning things like the mounting plate. The crown stick it had before had a thicker base plate. Luckily when i ordered the parts to do this mod (the neo geo stick mod) I ordered spare screws and I was able to finish this other mod... Congrats on fixing the buttons in THE RIGHT ORDER, that was bugging me all the time, red, yellow, green and blue forever !! Huge like for the video man !
@@ScarletSprites I sure did and yes it ended looking great ! Keep it up with the neo love, im still waiting for the red cabinet history and detailed video :D
Thanks for this video. I’m seeing this post-Hylo hack with other systems, so my button color choices may reflect that. This looks incredibly easy and inexpensive to do. I’m definitely a fan of mods that don’t require me to cut, solder, or otherwise give me the chance to ruin something..

@@ScarletSprites Absolutely. Even with the stock stick, I can still fire off moves with no issue, plus the HDMI out is much better. This will be my go to for arcade games, I think.
The seimitsu clear buttons look's really nice. I'm waiting for mine to arrived to replace on the DC arcade stick paird with ls-32 joystick. Great Video As Always!!!
I got my stick Seimitsu-ized fully last night, I had put the buttons in a while ago, finally got the correct stick and put that in as well. to make it more colorful, I went with two rows of Red/Yellow/Green/Blue instead of replacing the button colors exactly as they originally were
These are some of my favorite videos. Love content on this. I just used it last night on my PC with "FightCade". When I get Green Backs I'll do this mod!
How do you get the black plastic stick off the Semi stick? It changed from 4:23 to 4:26 now it being of chrome stick. I’m stuck at that part. Everything else is awesome
There should be a little clip on the bottom of the shaft that you can slide a flathead into and pull off. It’s kind of a ‘C’ shape. Removing it should allow you to take the entire stick out and slide the shaft off.
Scarlet Sprites Ohhh , awesome and thx for the instruction SS. Unfortunately, I’m out and about . Can’t wait to get home to continue mod. Once again, Super thanks pal
Finally did the mod! Thanks for the video and the links! I will say that the stick comes with a black shaft cover and replacing the shaft cover is not intuitive/ simple but figured it out!
Yeah, if you want to pop the stock black off of there you essentially have to remove the clip on the bottom and take the thing apart. I guess I didn't think about that too much since I've done that a lot in the past while working on machines, but you're right, the first time you're staring at it it's not the most intuitive piece of hardware.
@@ScarletSprites hi Scarlet, I'm stuck on this part on how to remove the black shaft :( Which clip am I supposed to remove? I dont wanna break anything since it was hard to find this stick! Thanks in advance
Ok.. I just noticed something pretty cool. The old AES hardware pulls a lot of visual effects off that are completely missing from the newer emulation consoles. For starters on Samurai Spirits 3 the pseudo 3d floor effects are completely missing and the fire stage on The Last Blade 2 is missing the haze effect in the background. Minor but noticable. Check it out for yourself. AES is still king!
Thank you for helping people mod. I ordered mine and have sanwa buttons and Seimitsu stick ready i just need the screws and a clear cover for the shaft.
The Seimitsu stick paired with Sanwa buttons is a favored combo among many. You’ll definitely like that I think. Best of luck with the stick and your mod, you’re well on your way to a nice overhaul.
@@ScarletSprites I know this sounds dum but could you explain how to change the shaft covers for an arcade stick please ?. As i am new to arcade stick modding the last arcade stick i had was with my dream cast many years ago. I have a Seimitau LS-56 and it has the black stock shaft and i want to replace it ( With a clear one ive ordered ) with out damaging the stick. The cover seems pretty tight and i dont want to break anything. Is it just pliers and push the new stick cover on ? many thanks.
On the LS-56 you have to take the stick out unfortunately. There’s a pin on the bottom that has two slots you can get a small flathead screwdriver head into to pop out. That will allow you to take the whole thing apart, and slide the black shaft cover off. You can then put the clear shaft cover on as the replacement and put it back together. Putting the pin back on can be a bit of a pain, and it’s best if you can get it started while you hold everything and then squeeze it back into place with a pair of pliers.
Been playing fighting games for years but I don't like square gates either. I use Korean sticks which uses the circular collar as a gate. I don't ride the collar so essentially I play gateless and it feels great.
I’ve read a few posts from people who play gateless. I feel like at this stage of my life I’m too damn old to change my ways, and tbh, I don’t really have any reason to. I’m just always fascinated by the number of different options and love that everyone has their niche and preference.
@scarletsprites so only put in the Seimitsu snap buttons, not the screw-in buttons? Is there not enough room for the threaded nuts with the screw buttons?
I feel moderately confident you’d be ok with the screws but because it’s been forever since I’ve had this open I can’t really recall. I’d probably just grab the snap ins.
I didn't see you using a soldering iron, unlike the AES stick. I'm thinking of replacing the buttons and ball top to begin with and will replace stick when original gets older. Are all these ball tops a universal fit?
Great video thanks a lot for this. I used it to mod mine as well and succeeded but unless I did something wrong I can't help notice that the joystick feels much shorter now. I can barely fit two fingers between the ball and the base of the arcade stick. Hopefully I can swap the default shaft inside the LS-56 for a bigger one.
@@ScarletSprites I am 6,1 ft and I can palm a basketball but I think my hands are average. At least I know thanks to your reply that I didn't mess up. Cheers
Great job, I'm from Paris and I managed to order all the parts in a French online shop. Can't wait to get them all, I'll do exactly the same as yours, it's soooooo nice! And yes, this is my first mod too 🎉
I want to replace the stick on mine, but the LS 56 fastener type is currently sold out. Are other Seimitsu sticks like the the LS 40 fastener type the same size? What mounting plate would I need to use?
Thats the issue I am having, cant find the stick anywhere, paradise arcade has a jlf in stock that might work, has fastener type cherry switches on it though
@@Adalwolf17 I just want a stick with tension like the Happ competitive. Maybe I can get a different spring for the JLF. What pound though? I've seen 1-6lbs.
@@novaspritenovasprite423 I think a 2lb would be a good starting point. They sell them on paradise as well. I have them in my Hori sticks and made it pretty stiff. That would work for the jlf as well.
Ah those 'out of stock' notices are all too familiar, been trying to find an LS for a while now. Those buttons look amazing, great job. You could also put all 4 buttons along the top like the neo candy cabs did. I'm not sure which I prefer to play on though.
I do like Focus Attack’s in stock alerts, provided you can wait it out. Those clear snap-in buttons seem to sell out quickly each time they get inventory.
Hah, they go back exactly where you took them from. If you don’t remember or didn’t snap a pic you can power up and test you have the directions correct by loading a game.
Nice work! Love these arcade stick mod projects.... That’s quite a transformation on the aesthetics from just these swaps - those translucent parts make a (IMO) tacky looking stock stick into a really desirable premium looking product. Tempted now....
It isn’t light, there really isn’t any need to do that. The bottom half of the stick has a piece of metal that runs the length of the stick to give it weight.
Yes, although it’s locked at 720p which is common for devices like this. No different than the other mainstream classics. There is an option to use bilinear filtering which will blur things, but I personally don’t like that.
I’ve just got an arcade stick pro and want to change the joystick for a seimitsu but the LS-56 is sold out everywhere on the UK. Is there an alternative you recommend?
@@ScarletSprites nice one, dude. I’ve changed the buttons so they are in the correct lineup. I think I’ll change the buttons as well. I got the Christmas bundle so it comes with the non clicky pad and the silicon skins which I quite like as well.
That looks killer. Great choices. I have a bit of an oddball question that I haven't seen addressed anywhere else. You can map action buttons to the 8 buttons on top, but does anyone know if you can map the start and select buttons there as well? I have a modding project in mind that would be made far easier if this is the case. Thanks!
@@ScarletSprites I suspected as much. Well, I'll have a bit more work to do, but this still looks like a cool machine. Thanks for all of your videos on it!
Not sure about Sanwa, but if you look at the mounting plate description it lists the additional model Seimitsu sticks it’s compatible with that you can use.
Where else can I buy parts for an arcade stick other then focus attack. I am looking for a certain color of push buttons. I have a HORI RAP 4 arcade stick.
If we wanted to go for an American style MVS mod with the baseball bat style stick and concave style buttons which ones would you recommend? Thank you.
Can you reach out and have them create an ASP Seimitsu-ized kit that has everything you selected all together? Maybe they hook you up with a little kickback plus give us a 1click shop (when the parts are in-stock).
Hello sir! Your video was very helpful, but I've not been able to get my hands on the model stick you used. So while I wait for notification that it's back in stock, might you know of another stick which would be a good fit for the ASP? Ideally, I'd like something that feels like the AES stick, with a solid square gate and minimal travel. Have you any recommendations? Thanks for your time and your work on the channel.
You definitely could do that, you’d just need a way to power them. I’m not sure if there is something that exists over USB that you can tap into or not. It’s possible you might be able to draw enough power from the board that’s already in there. It would be a bit of a project so I’m probably not going to be doing that. You can use the same translucent buttons I have though and light them from behind.
Very recognicable, get arcade parts, then need more other arcade psrts, hahaha. Loved the joke about you being able to say anything you want on your channel. Nothing to lose. I really enjoyed this episode. It looks beautiful . I imagined the clear buttons would look strange, but quite the opposite actually. Well done. I think I would make all 4 top buttons ABCD though. But I don't know, since I never played on this stick.
You’re not the first person to mention using the top row. That’s a very close second, I almost went that route but opted for the stronger curve which is more representative of what you might find on some candy cabs. Who knows though, I may try using that top row to see how it feels across and if I like it switch it up again.
I decided to buy sanwa buttons and a seimitsu crystal red ball top. It's just easier to buy on eBay and I couldn't find any seimitsu transparent buttons. I can't wait it's going to look good!!
Scarlet Sprites I’m a very proud owner of a MV-1C consolized system. But I have to admit that the Mylo hack combined with this killer Seimitsu mod is absolute candy. My only regret for my MV-1C was to not have ordered the UNIBIOS 4.0 chips while I could. BTW, you video was so popular that most of the parts we need to order to perform this mod are « Out of Stock ». Focus Attack should be an Official sponsor of your excellent channel.
It’s just pure convenience, which I don’t mind at all. I’ll probably even leave it hooked up so I can easily grab footage for videos. Definitely a sweet little stick with this hack. As far as the Unibios you can still get that and pop it in. I think Jamma Nation X is still doing them at cost. Thanks for the kind words about the Seimitsu video!
I hope someone can help but I would love to buy one of these but won't if I can't play it on my xbox. Is there any way to make it playable on an Xbox. Please let me know if you can
I think finding enough real estate inside the AES Stick would be your largest hurdle. I actually kind of like the big and rugged oversized Arcade Stick Pro to be honest.
Scarlet Sprites do you also have the same problem on smoothing filter that the bottom of the screen is a little cut off , pixel filter is perfect. But i do like to play metal slug with smoothing for the explosions. But i cant figure that problem out .. its not crazy bad but pretty annoying 😂
Since you have pcb version of the stick - is there a chance you can make tutorial how to install it too? A lot of ppl have problem with getting one without pcb and prices skyrocket on ebay.
You’re going to apply the same principal, you just need to understand the pinouts... support.focusattack.com/hc/en-us/articles/207447823-Which-wires-in-the-5-pin-joystick-harnesses-are-for-which-direction-ground-on-Seimitsu-LS-and-Sanwa-JLF-joysticks?mobile_site=true
Would I need to buy an encoder to do a LED swap for the buttons and joystick? Are new wires needed or can I use what it came with? (Brand new to the fight stick/modding scene, but learning)
So.. now when all standard 56 are out of stock... I have a Seimitsu 56-01 (so pcb version) from the old project where I've tried to fit it (to Nacon Naija without luck). Have not idea how it's possible to install it to Neo Geo ASP. Anyone tried that?
Thanks so much for making this video in moving my d button broke I fixed it last night tock me a few hours but I'm going to buy a new button set really appreciate the video
Scarlet, do you know what size for the red ball would fit in the default joystick? I’d like to replace the ball like yours but without actually messing around/replacing the joystick itself. Thanks a lot!
Scarlet Sprites Oh my god, Scarlet, you made me cave in. My Arcade stick is on it’s way alongside the Gamelinq to use it with a PS4 (have you tried this setup, btw?). I have one more question about the buttons mod: I see you changed the position of the blue button in your final mod. Is it just aesthetically? Or you also wired the blue cables to the blue button?
Nice! I left all the wiring the same, as I never wanted to be confused when in the menus. So essentially it’s just a cosmetic color swap and then I set the button mapping how I want it for each game.
Love your hoodie !! Is it possible to buy it on website ? By the way, your NGASP looks so cool like that……… I think I will go like this on mine, I also prefer Seimitsu stuff. But I think I will change the button layout, put the NeoGeo inline layout with the color buttons. Thanks for the video !! Big salut from France 🇫🇷 Vinz🙋♂️
Thanks man! Unfortunately the hoodie was sent to me by a viewer in Greece. I believe his wife got it in Japan. I don’t know if it is available online, sorry. Best wishes with your ASP! Thanks for saying hi!
@@ScarletSprites oh ok yes thank you, I’m not surprised cause all Sega/NeoGeo clothes I have, I’ve bought them in Japan too, into temporary shops, they’re used to do that there ☺️ So these clothes are super rare… Your wife is sweet! Best wishes to both of you 🙏🙋♂️
Are there other combinations of sticks/plates that will work? Focus Attack is sold out of the LS-56 and mounting plate mentioned in the description. I did put a set of Seimitsu buttons in mine though.
IDK if I can get this unit after neogeo on the mister. I got a nice stick the quamba Q4 that already has Sanwa buttons and stick. At least you can hack it to put more games on it. Im not a Neogeo fighting game guy, i enjoy the rest of the games. There are very series people for the fighting games thou.
In contrast, I wish I had a MiSTer. I’m hoping maybe next year will be the year. I’m not really a big SNK fighting fan either. I casually enjoy the more popular titles, but if I really want to play a fighting game, most of the time I’m going Street Fighter.
@@ScarletSprites i enjoy street fighter and arc system works fighting games. maybe mortal kombat if i am in the mood. I do play svc chaos thou cuz i can pick Ryu
I don’t mind MK, and I applaud it for feeling different than the other fighters in its day. Virtua Fighter is also a guilty pleasure, I have a lot of love for the first.
I’m sure there is probably a mounting plate you can use but I’m not certain which. I’d think that the Japanese styled sticks (Seimitsu, Sanwa) are going to have better options but I haven’t done a ton of research.
Waiting on my parts to arrive. Focus Attack was sold out of some of the stuff I wanted so I got mine from Arcade Shock if you want Seimitsu parts. Question. I have a Seimitsu LS 56-0-1 I bought for this but I'm not sure if that's the right stick from the video. Did anyone else use that stick with the 4 connector points?
@@ScarletSprites well looks like I'll be waiting to do the stick replacement. It looked the one from the video but it didn't say "fastener type" on the Arcade Shock webpage.
@@ScarletSprites thanks. Nihongogamer has a video showing how to do the stick mod with rewiring. I can't wait to see. I'm not sure yet about the button layout so I bought 4 clear purple and 8 clear blue. I also got a purple and blue balltop with clear blue Seimitsu dust and shaft cover set. I think it's going to look really good.
That looks totally kick-ass! Thanks for sharing! I too am an octagonal guy, and I would like to switch just the plate/gate out on my stock stick. Any idea if the Seimitsu octagonal plate you used will fit the stock stick? Or whether there's another option out there for cheapskates like me?
It doesn’t fit the stock stick, the holes won’t line up on it. There may be other options out there for the stock stick but I honestly haven’t looked very hard.
Get some backup e-clips if you take apart & upgrade the shaft cover (3/16 and/or temp 1/4 - ty reddit). Wire order in mine starting upper right & moving clockwise: Green > Red > White > Yellow + combo.
I really enjoy these. Currently inbetween jobs but when I'm working again and not living on savings really want to pick up a neogeo arcade pro. Been interested since the minis but held off due their issues but felt the arcade pro resolves those and the 40 titles now available are a sale.
I would definitely agree that with the 40 games the ASP is a pretty decent system. I’d definitely recommend it over the Mini. Best wishes with the job hunt and your quest for the Neo Geo ASP!
This is about as perfect a mod tutorial as you can get. Nobody needs to see the step by step, just the highlights. Thanks for the mounting plate and shaft sleeve guidance. Those are things I would have totally forgotten. Oh, the screws too! Appreciate ya, man!
I have an idea: stick with a Sanwa JLF joystick lever, a Sanwa ball-top or bat-top, an eight-way restrictor gate and Seimitsu buttons. Sanwa and Hayabusa buttons are oversensitive, the Hayabusa joystick levers are way too loose and the Seimitsu joystick levers are way too stiff.
Not that I’ve seen. The only thing to have emerged was the custom image that was prebuilt and contained a lot of garbage (imo). Nothing that allows you to customize the layout and game selections like the Nintendo Classics.
@@ScarletSprites Damnit, this is not good. I had high hopes. This seems to be pretty straight forward for the same people that do the mini hacks. I've got mine all modded and ready for some action. You should do a video about it and use your RUclips clout so that guys get crackin. 😁
Since the compartment for the USB cord has a pretty good amount of space, I think you could make your Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro portable by getting the Phreaksmod Link Quick Release for the Seimitsu LS-56. When taking the stick with you, put the dust cover and the shaft in the compartment and maybe a dongle or two for connectivity to a modern console if you are going to a friend's house or tournament.
That's a cool mod for sure. I probably don't travel enough to warrant that, but it's a sound idea for anyone who might be interested in heading down that path. Nice idea man.
I finally came across a pro when it comes to arcade parts, great vid I am looking for a lever that does not have extra travel after hitting the microswitch, as well as being octagonal instead of square when it comes to the whole area where it calibrates, which brand and reference would you suggest to mod my stick?
Mid through the video I was worried you were keeping the white and gray stock buttons and I'm Glad you didn't. I would have opted for solid colored buttons myself but the clear looks good as well. You should try out the Kowal short throw mod for the LS-56 it's quite nice.
I use solids on my candy cabs and just wanted to try something different, thought this was a good opportunity. Yes, almost went cheap thinking it wouldn’t matter, but swapping everything out definitely made a huge difference. Thanks for the tip on the Kowal, I’ll check it out.
Seimetsu or Sanwa? Also for the Hylo hack I heard it’s good to replace one of the usb cables to a 3.0, do you know which cable to replace and recommended replacement part?
That stick is a beaut....for one of my old mad catz i have ordered 6 (too cheap for the last 2) of the translucents and just a spring which hopefully will fix bounce back i have on that stick. Just wondering actually do you know an effective fix for stick bouncing back hitting other direction (i am thinking springs/actuator but maybe theres another fix?)
Yeah I would assume that has to do with the spring in the stick mostly. I've never swapped those out between sticks individually though. Hope you get it sorted.
Hi there, I’m new to the channel, love your vids. After watching this one I’m actually considering a similar mod for my Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro (and I have literally never opened up a piece of hardware before, let alone modify it). It looks absolutely gorgeous. One thing that is not really clear to me though is how the octagonal restrictor plate makes for a more fun experience. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks!
I wouldn’t say it’s more or less fun. It’s just a personal preference. An 8-way gate is much more familiar to North American players whereas the square is more of a Japanese thing. It’s just all about what feels right to you.

Thing looks awesome dude! Love them clear buttons and ball top on this stick
Looks so sweet 😮
Looks good! Can't wait to see all the clear parts installed!
Definitely more worthwhile than I initially thought, especially if you plan to use the stick on other consoles.
Damn! Looking good!
Thanks man!
That balltop, so cool
Yeah, the translucent tops are really cool. Relatively cheap and easy to swap without taking the whole case apart.
There’s zero soldering with these swaps. Ball tops are all universal so you have plenty of choices out there.
I don't know how big your hands are but that might not be all that abnormal tbh. On Japanese candy cab setups 1in. to 1.25in. isn't uncommon.
@@ScarletSprites I am 6,1 ft and I can palm a basketball but I think my hands are average. At least I know thanks to your reply that I didn't mess up. Cheers
Everything arrived, except my yellow button came in lime green. Waiting on the replacement before I dive in!
Nice! I think you’ll enjoy that once you get everything swapped it. Bummer on the lime green, lol.
Great job, I'm from Paris and I managed to order all the parts in a French online shop. Can't wait to get them all, I'll do exactly the same as yours, it's soooooo nice! And yes, this is my first mod too 🎉
Awesome! Glad to hear you were able to get what you need!
Salut, quel site s'il te plaît ? Je suis intéressé pour modder le mien également 😉
@@gregorypasset8394 finalement y a eu aucun shop français qui avait tout le matériel d'un coup, j'ai fini par commander sur Focus Attack !
I want to replace the stick on mine, but the LS 56 fastener type is currently sold out. Are other Seimitsu sticks like the the LS 40 fastener type the same size? What mounting plate would I need to use?
Take a look at the product description for the mounting plate. It lists the other model Seimitsu sticks that it’s compatible with.
@@ScarletSprites You're right. Thanks!
Scarlet Sprite the LS-56 is sold out everywhere. Is there a Sanwa alternative that would fit?
I’m sure there is a way to do that with the right plate and stick but I don’t know what those would be:
Thats the issue I am having, cant find the stick anywhere, paradise arcade has a jlf in stock that might work, has fastener type cherry switches on it though
@@Adalwolf17 I just want a stick with tension like the Happ competitive. Maybe I can get a different spring for the JLF. What pound though? I've seen 1-6lbs.
@@novaspritenovasprite423 I think a 2lb would be a good starting point. They sell them on paradise as well. I have them in my Hori sticks and made it pretty stiff. That would work for the jlf as well.
@@novaspritenovasprite423 I did find an LS 60 which is stiff, on arcade shock in stock as well, I think i may get that one myself.
You lost me at octagonal gate but I still gave you a like
Nice vid 👍🏻
Ah those 'out of stock' notices are all too familiar, been trying to find an LS for a while now.
Those buttons look amazing, great job.
You could also put all 4 buttons along the top like the neo candy cabs did. I'm not sure which I prefer to play on though.
I do like Focus Attack’s in stock alerts, provided you can wait it out. Those clear snap-in buttons seem to sell out quickly each time they get inventory.
mounted my seimitsu in....i dont know how to connect the wires back? i think this guide is missing that !.
Hah, they go back exactly where you took them from. If you don’t remember or didn’t snap a pic you can power up and test you have the directions correct by loading a game.
Has anyone found.a use for the grey & white buttons yet? So far I haven't found anything that utilises them.
Presumably they can be used with games on other consoles. You could also map to them on Neo Geo if you wanted to change your layout.
Nice work! Love these arcade stick mod projects....
That’s quite a transformation on the aesthetics from just these swaps - those translucent parts make a (IMO) tacky looking stock stick into a really desirable premium looking product. Tempted now....
The stock parts really aren’t that bad so far as functionality, but I would agree that the matte finish and primary colors make the thing look cheap.
Does the Seimitsu octagonal gate look like it will fit on the stock stick? Seems like it lines up but hard to tell from pictures.
Looks great. Might have to do the same with mine. 👏🏻
It’s better than I expected. All we need now is a better hack and Switch compatibility.
Can you put some weights inside to give it a heavy feeling haven't purchased 1 yet looks very light weight
It isn’t light, there really isn’t any need to do that. The bottom half of the stick has a piece of metal that runs the length of the stick to give it weight.
@@ScarletSprites cool thanks for response 1 more question does it look good on big tv the graphics
I’d check the mounting plate specs for other models, but the LS-33 is quite popular and will work.
@@ScarletSprites nice one, dude. I’ve changed the buttons so they are in the correct lineup. I think I’ll change the buttons as well. I got the Christmas bundle so it comes with the non clicky pad and the silicon skins which I quite like as well.
@@ScarletSprites I can’t seem to see the LS-33 anywhere. I’m guessing they will all be fine as long at the mounting plate fits.
Thanks!
I don’t actually know, but my instincts say no since the only buttons shown on the display during that time are the eight on the deck.
@@ScarletSprites I suspected as much. Well, I'll have a bit more work to do, but this still looks like a cool machine. Thanks for all of your videos on it!
So if you cant find the stick anymore, what is the Sanwa alternative ?
Not sure about Sanwa, but if you look at the mounting plate description it lists the additional model Seimitsu sticks it’s compatible with that you can use.
Oh nice, 😎 definitely putting the Pro in arcade stick.
Those buttons are gorgeous!
They worked out better than I had even hoped.
Where else can I buy parts for an arcade stick other then focus attack. I am looking for a certain color of push buttons. I have a HORI RAP 4 arcade stick.
I sometimes hit Paradise Arcade and Arcade Shock as well. Those are pretty much my three go tos.
Checkout the product description for the flat mounting plate. It lists the other model sticks that will attach to it.
Could u add light-up buttons to this stick? If so could u maybe make a video on how to do so??
You definitely could do that, you’d just need a way to power them. I’m not sure if there is something that exists over USB that you can tap into or not. It’s possible you might be able to draw enough power from the board that’s already in there. It would be a bit of a project so I’m probably not going to be doing that. You can use the same translucent buttons I have though and light them from behind.
Looks super sharp!
Thanks man, hope all is well with you!
Getting there thanks bro
That’s cool, there’s no wrong way to mod your stick man. Hope you enjoy it!
How did u get the black joystick cover off
Nevermind i figured it out that was a doozi for me .
Yeah it can be a pain. It’s actually putting the pin back in that is often more difficult.
Love your content bud, keep it up.
Thanks man, much appreciated.
Damn you!!!!! You got me seriously interested for this once not interesting system.
It’s not the worst way to get your Neo on (*looks at Neo Mini*)
Awesome semitsu mod!!
I hope someone can help but I would love to buy one of these but won't if I can't play it on my xbox. Is there any way to make it playable on an Xbox. Please let me know if you can
I have no experience using it but have heard that others use this...

Incredible
What if you put all internals from a neo geo stick pro into original aes controller modded with sei’s ?🤭🤔hdmi slot and everything
I think finding enough real estate inside the AES Stick would be your largest hurdle. I actually kind of like the big and rugged oversized Arcade Stick Pro to be honest.
Scarlet Sprites do you know if you can play 2 player with 2 neo geo stick pro’s ? Just in case if i ordered two with out checking that 😂
Scarlet Sprites do you also have the same problem on smoothing filter that the bottom of the screen is a little cut off , pixel filter is perfect. But i do like to play metal slug with smoothing for the explosions. But i cant figure that problem out .. its not crazy bad but pretty annoying 😂
Hiya mate, I can't find an ls-56 joystick available at the moment (in the UK at least) are there any alternative joysticks that might work?
Hey John, that mounting plate will work with the LS-33 and LS-62 as well.
@@ScarletSprites Thank you! That's awesome. Keep up the great work!
U didnt show how you connected the cables to the new stick?
At 3:08 I mentioned taking a pic. They’re just fasteners. They slide on the same place they slid off from.

Yep, you can use the exact same one I used on the stock stick. Link is below.

Can you use happ joystick with the extended plate?
I’m sure there is probably a mounting plate you can use but I’m not certain which. I’d think that the Japanese styled sticks (Seimitsu, Sanwa) are going to have better options but I haven’t done a ton of research.
Waiting on my parts to arrive. Focus Attack was sold out of some of the stuff I wanted so I got mine from Arcade Shock if you want Seimitsu parts. Question. I have a Seimitsu LS 56-0-1 I bought for this but I'm not sure if that's the right stick from the video. Did anyone else use that stick with the 4 connector points?
That’s the PCB model. It can be used but is going to require a complete rewiring of the stick to get it to work. 2:44
@@ScarletSprites well looks like I'll be waiting to do the stick replacement. It looked the one from the video but it didn't say "fastener type" on the Arcade Shock webpage.
@@ScarletSprites this is my first mod btw.
Yeah, if that’s the case I would definitely wait on the SC-K so it’s just a clean swap. Best of luck!
@@ScarletSprites thanks. Nihongogamer has a video showing how to do the stick mod with rewiring. I can't wait to see.
OK, thank you for checking!
Get some backup e-clips if you take apart & upgrade the shaft cover (3/16 and/or temp 1/4 - ty reddit).
Wire order in mine starting upper right & moving clockwise: Green > Red > White > Yellow + combo.
I'm a newbie, why does he change the position of the blue button?
Does he change it to a position more in line with the original layout?
This is so cool!
Scarlet, has there been a hack for this yet to put the entire library on it, as well as CPS 1/2/3/AtomisWave/etc?
Not that I’ve seen. The only thing to have emerged was the custom image that was prebuilt and contained a lot of garbage (imo). Nothing that allows you to customize the layout and game selections like the Nintendo Classics.
@@ScarletSprites Damnit, this is not good. I had high hopes. This seems to be pretty straight forward for the same people that do the mini hacks.
I've got mine all modded and ready for some action. You should do a video about it and use your RUclips clout so that guys get crackin. 😁
Haha, there is no more more clout here than there is at my local GameStop.
Hey guys the stick is out of stock is there another as well stick i can get from focus attack?
Since the compartment for the USB cord has a pretty good amount of space, I think you could make your Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro portable by getting the Phreaksmod Link Quick Release for the Seimitsu LS-56. When taking the stick with you, put the dust cover and the shaft in the compartment and maybe a dongle or two for connectivity to a modern console if you are going to a friend's house or tournament.
That's a cool mod for sure. I probably don't travel enough to warrant that, but it's a sound idea for anyone who might be interested in heading down that path. Nice idea man.

I am looking for a lever that does not have extra travel after hitting the microswitch, as well as being octagonal instead of square when it comes to the whole area where it calibrates, which brand and reference would you suggest to mod my stick?
Looks fantastic! Wonder how long till there is a AES controller mod.
I wouldn’t mind using this with my CMVS at all. As it stands, I’ll probably end up using this the most on Switch.
Glad to see this video up, I’d already done but cool 😎
Seimetsu or Sanwa? Also for the Hylo hack I heard it’s good to replace one of the usb cables to a 3.0, do you know which cable to replace and recommended replacement part?
What is compatible with the build of the neogeo arcade stick. Otherwise you may have to sodder
@@ScarletSprites thanks for clearing that up. Guess I’ll stick with the square for now and see if it works for me.
