Thank you David Jr. I've often wondered what the funeral was like and would only get bits and pieces of information over the years and a few clips. When your father passed I was working at a Radio Station in Montgomery Hot 105.7. I had a gig that night (DJ at a club) and when I got home I didn't turn on the TV and I decided to watch my VCR and I had recorded one of the old Temptation performances years before. I sat down to watch it and I remember I had a funny and strange feeling watching it. It was a weird feeling. The song playing was your dad singing Ain't too Proud to Beg and I thought that it was very strange I had that feeling. I didn't think much of it and decided to go to bed. Woke up the next morning and went it to do my shift at the station. Of course, this was before social media, etc. While I was on the air one of the Part-Timers at the time called me and said..."Hey man did you hear about your boy?" (Everyone knew I was a big Temptation fan) and I said..."No...what boy? What are you talking about?" He then told me about David's passing and not only was I stunned but my mind immediately went to the night before. When I came in it was about 3 or 4 in the morning so your father probably had just passed not long before. Thank you for posting this and really enjoyed your vocals with your Dad at the end. WE as fans just appreciate you and your continuing legacy. Great post and wow...Stay blessed my friend and keep doing what you are doing!
Melvin speaking after they performed broke my heart 💔 there truly is no place like home, with the lord in heaven. Unfortunately both Eddie and Melvin would both pass within a span of 4 years after David. Theyre all brothers once again, along with Ali Richard Damon and Dennis. They’re just waiting for Otis.
this man single handedly reconstructed the motown sound and how could we ever forget how he physically built motown and influenced our favorite singers, rest in peace you absolute legend.
My brothers admired "The TEMPTING TEMPTATIONS"...and actually should have been their label mates with them... unfortunately, Barry Gordy was off doing movies... and left a savory guy to be in charge of auditions...the guy wanted to date my oldest brother in order to sign them 😲🤬...they were called "The Performers"...a few of their songs are on RUclips... they had a great rendition of "Just My Imagination"...all 4 are deceased, as well...#RIP DAVID RUFFIN and to THE SCARBROUGH AFFAIR... they're ALL in heaven SANGING. 😭😭😭
Funerals touch me a little deep ever since I lost my Dad & Uncle in a house fire , you see my Dad was trying to save his brother. Sad but “Am I my brothers keeper” yes we all are❤
The old video of him in the studio singing My Girl and the onstage. The difference was clear. I Googled him, and tears just streamed down my face. I was captivated by his voice. RIP David. My Girl, Wish it would rain are my favourites
This reminds me of Tony Turner's mention of this in his book (Dennis) makes that "I'm gonna turn this mother out" face as he cuts in. Must have been something great to experience, I guess that got to Richard Street too.

David Had so many demons but what star ⭐ when I watch his performances it blows my mind his raw talent wow
This rendition of “My Girl “ 🎵🎶🙏🏾 😢
I saw Mr. David Ruffin performance on Summer of Soul documentary last weekend. I am a new fan RIP 🕊 🙏🏾
to see him sing & dance in July in that heavy suit and no sweat was amazing.
I remember that the funeral was private. It was a sad day at his funeral. He was still young. At the age of 50.
David Ruffin had a God given gift as far as singing went nobody else in music could sing the way David Ruffin could!! I'm a white man but I grew up on the Temptations music from the early 70s and being able to listen to David Ruffin in the 1960s it was to bad he let his addiction beat him!!
Thank you for this!!!
But of course
Thank you so so much for posting this 💔😢🙏🏾🇹🇷
This is epic...should have more views...most those legends have left us since 91 also...love them all!!!
True
@@MRDAVIDRUFFINJR your father was loved by everyone. He provided everyone with great hits like "My Girl". "Ain't Too Proud" "I Wish It Would Rain" "It's Growing" "Since I Lost My Baby" and all the other hits. Your Dad was your hero.
Let it be said David Ruffin's voice is one time the king of all Pop music and R&B "my girl ""crossed all Musical genres and is still m missed today. I still sing It in my repertoireGod Bless You David.
David ruffins music and voice hits me like a thunder bolt ,i was 10 years old then, but as i got older mr ruffin s voice is like a preacher that stirs the soul, rip david, wish u were here today so i could write a song personally for you to sing,
Thank you so much for sharing this...If you are David's son, you have a beautiful voice...If you're not David's son, you still have a beautiful voice...Hoping your putting in the work, that Minister Farrakhan mention in his Eulogy...This way if you make it big, you'll know how to handle fame, and not make the mistakes as others did in the past...
What a beautiful service for a king. That you’re dad was.Thank you son for sharing you’re dads home going service!!May god bless you and you’re family.
Thank you so much for this upload. Temptations is my favorite musical group and David Ruffin was a legend!
The world was a better place with David in it. I lost a happy place to go to when I needed it when we lost david. Rest in peace brother.
Thanks for sharing your father’s memorial service. He’s my mom’s favorite singer. I send hugs and love to you and your family. Rest well Mr. Ruffin.
I was living in Pittsburgh when David Ruffin died. I was 5 years old. I'm 37 and my kids now listens to The Temptations and David Ruffin.
Awe man I still listen to the original temps❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️true legends🥰🥰🥰he is still missed
God thank you for David he was truly a great singer
That was absolutely beautiful. God blessings be upon you and your family. Thank you for sharing.
I just stumble across this powerful teaching…Annointing revelation teaching from the Holy Spirit.. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😇🙏🙏🙏
Farrakhan spoke the most eloquent and wisest speech of anyone I have heard at a funeral.👀✊🏿
this man single handedly reconstructed the motown sound and how could we ever forget how he physically built motown and influenced our favorite singers, rest in peace you absolute legend.
Loved his singing, wonder what he would sound like today, I bet he would still sound wonderful.
@Judy Gaines thank you 🤗
Funerals touch me a little deep ever since I lost my Dad & Uncle in a house fire , you see my Dad was trying to save his brother.
This the kind of music that goes straight to the soul
Beautiful service. Thank you for sharing.
Ali-Woodson R.I.P. another G.O.A.T.

RIP Mr.Ruffin I'll never walk away from your music.
What a message Arethaand Eddie Kendrick gone and probably many more.
God bless you my son and the name of the most high God and my savior
This reminds me of Tony Turner's mention of this in his book (Dennis) makes that "I'm gonna turn this mother out" face as he cuts in. Must have been something great to experience, I guess that got to Richard Street too.
Right tt

Louis Farrakhan speech is still relevant TODAY with the entertainment industry and I'm up shouting TELL IT FARRAKHAN‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
