I get what Adele was trying to say. She wasn't trying to portray an 18th century French woman so much as she was trying to portray a young woman in a complex and emotional situation.
Sen Sen I absolutely agree with this comment. The more I watch there is always something new I perhaps missed the previous time watching. It’s a great movie, my absolute favourite in terms of a romantic move.
Totally agree with you. I sugest “The World To Come” and “Disobedience” for those who haven’t watched yet, also beautiful movies in every possible way.
Oh, in this film there is a lot of understatement with the sensual world of a woman who is between two natures - her own and ambivalent, like the nature of androgynous feelings. But the scene where the heroine of Noemie Merlan does not take her eyes off the Muse, Love, Girl, Madame, this does not mean anything to me, because it does not show the full depth of genuine yet unrevealed feelings. She could show the audience real feelings, but this would not be enough to show many of us that there is true love, passion, choice, destiny!)
Love the interviews in English, Adele is so intelligent, thoughtful and eloquent in her native language but struggles so much to express herself in English it's so adorable to me, and of course her accent is so beautiful and attractive, the whole thing is so endearing
I remember when I first saw this footage and heard this guy from Mexico from the audience who said that it was one of his favorite movies "in life". After this statement, I was very intrigued to see this movie, and I have to agree with that. A masterpiece.
The end scene: She remembers She thinks about a lost love She listens to the music and enjoys it And she's sad. Finished watching the film, loved it, watched all the interviews I could find online. And this is what I've been looking for, a perspective of the last scene. Edit: @19:18
@@harleyquiinnnn of course! I think I can remember the painting where they part, and they talk about how the lovers could have chosen to let go of one another to not feel the pain that comes with and how it could ruin the memory of each other when they see each other. when one sees the other they both knew each other were there but the two did not look at each other. they didn't want to ruin the memories of each other by seeing each other again, they both decided not to see each other to not feel the pain and experience the pain that comes with not seeing each other. they chose not to see each other.
i actually find the last question valid too. it's great to know that céline chose the colors of the costumes to her liking and in accordance to their aesthetic or visual impact. i guess we, as the audience, can make our own self-interpretation of this and their symbolism to our personal selves. the same with the true meaning of the ending. for me, we all know that héloïse is the "lady on fire," as fire being a symbol for the anger and the imprisonment or lack of liberty that she felt. but as marianne is also wearing a dress with the red color (akin to the color of fire), it supports the idea she told héloïse: "i understand you." she feels the feeling of her significant other. and how even though we view her as a free soul, she also has her internal battles. she is also right for the title "lady on fire." maybe that is how héloïse perceives her as well; as someone incredibly close to her. and as héloïse is wearing a blue-colored dress, which transitions into a white wedding dress in the last scene that continues to haunt marianne; if we simply look at marianne's final outfit, she is wearing blue; color initially related to héloïse. this means that héloïse really had an impact on her. héloïse still lingers in her, everywhere she goes. héloïse, along with their shared love, will forever remain in her memory.

Because they would never be together. Do you honestly think they could be "friends"? She's a married, aristocratic woman with a child. Heloise chose to remember...
Like Emily has said, she chose to remember, so she chose the poet's choice, not the lover's choice. Remember when they're talking about Orpheus and Euridyce and Marianne suggested that Orpheus wants to remember, prefers the memory, a poet's choice rather the lover's choice....

i dont want the jacket but a bf/gf who wears it. i was thinking about it during this interview, it gives off a specific vibe and i keep catching myself falling for people with it. lol
She looked a bit disturbed. She was even avoiding answering questions from the beginning. Celine looked to her for some time after the time Noemie answered. In the middle, she tried to talk and lost her words. Then when the guy from Mexico asked a question, Celine and Noemie talked to her again and she was like, oh we have to answer too? then replied. Probably it wasn't a good day for her, concentration wise.
Farzana Zafreen yeah. Promoting the film and travelling around the world talking at the festivals must be so draining and exhausting for them so I don't blame them in a way for letting others answer the questions. Especially if they are ones they have been asked many times before but it's all part of the work process. The movie is sensational and I thought they all did a really good job.
@@TheType0negative Yeah, read it on Adele's wikipedia page. First line of the paragraph about her personal life: ''In 2014 Haenel revealed she was in a romantic relationship with director Céline Sciamma[...]''
I've seen so many of these Q and A's for this beautiful film and the moderators have often been poor. Often cutting off the ACTRESSES with a new question because Celine talks so much. You can see their frustration and Adele often gets more fidgety , Noemie often just giggles when they get moved on.
They should have gone the extra mile to hire a personal interpreter....it would allow the director and actresses to speak with greater ease in their native language/mother tongue
There are plenty of French interviews on line for you to listen to. The English ones are very entertaining and they manage despite dodgy grammar and struggling for vocab to still converse on an interesting and deep level.
Talking from experience, interviews with interpreters tend to suck. It may not obstruct the flow of thought, but it does obstruct the flow of communication.
I am not sure about that, because when people want to express something very professional from a specific branch, an interpreter is often creating a mess. I witnessed a few times such a situation.
For such an important film, most of the questions from the audience to both the director and actresses were cringe-inducing, generic, irrelevant, corny, etc. The Q&A was hard to watch.
i thought about this too, i was searching for more in depth questions from the audience for them to answer like queerness, femaleness, symbollic meaning of the elements used in the film (if there's any), the choice of heloise, philosophy, the power of fine art, the importance of female artists in the cinematic industry and everything else idk
Exactly. The audience could’ve at least made questions on feminism and female artists in cinema. They could’ve expanded the conversation in a meaningful way bringing to the table the work of Chantal Akerman, Agnès Varda, Andrea Arnold, and many more. Past and present.
I just see her listening, concentrating, it is a second language, remember. I also imagine it is very tedious to be on the road having to answer many of the same questions, over and over. I think Celine is amazingly eloquent. And I think Adele is a very talented actress, not necessarily a public speaker, artists often find explaining their craft difficult, that's why they are driven to perfect their art rather than talking about it😏
I get what Adele was trying to say. She wasn't trying to portray an 18th century French woman so much as she was trying to portray a young woman in a complex and emotional situation.

What an amazing movie❤
Why does English with a French accent sound so soothing 🤌
Loved this movie. One of the bests!
6:38 Celine looking at Adele , figuring out what Adele wants to say to help her out ?
so uhhhh not the point but any information on adele's jacket? I want one. thanks in advance
god I love this jacket as well. just her whole fashion style tbh
still waiting for someone to drop a link lol
ok gays it's the artic bomber jacket from fade out label, you're welcome 😘
@@irkf the lesbian that i am says thank you irkf ♥
i dont want the jacket but a bf/gf who wears it. i was thinking about it during this interview, it gives off a specific vibe and i keep catching myself falling for people with it. lol
Somebody should’ve stepped in to help Adele when she “lost her words” she was clearly distressed about it
She looked a bit disturbed.
*25:36** - Now Why Did That **_Hurt_** ??... **_Ouch!!_* 🤔😔🥺😰☹️☹️😭
Love them alll
8:52 Best moment 😄
The 3 iconic duo.
Honestly, the moderator was giving me major anxiety with the way she was speaking.
Blumenkranzzz same
7:11 👁👄👁 why is she so cute
I love adele
2:24 Why does Céline keep staring at Noémie even if she’s done with her speech?
Armağan she had actually finished her speech
They used to be partners, maybe that has something to do with it.
@@TheType0negative Yeah, read it on Adele's wikipedia page. First line of the paragraph about her personal life: ''In 2014 Haenel revealed she was in a romantic relationship with director Céline Sciamma[...]''
tris oh now it all makes sense. Besides I realized that she is looking at Adele, not Noemie. Thank you.
@@tristan7494 Is Adele gay?
That mexican reporter represents my own opinión about the movie 💖
eu AMO três mulheres
3 mulheres PERFEITAS
wtf why are all the people asking questions so handsome/beautiful?
Good looking people tend to be more confident and outgoing, and it takes confidence and curiosity to step up with your question
I've seen so many of these Q and A's for this beautiful film and the moderators have often been poor. Often cutting off the ACTRESSES with a new question because Celine talks so much. You can see their frustration and Adele often gets more fidgety , Noemie often just giggles when they get moved on.
there are like 3 q&as☹️
Im really fall in love with this film ...nothing to say more ..
This movie is about women and the female gaze.
Great film and great choice to not have music, which is often terrible in films.
But there was music, that beautiful a cappella song :)
They should have gone the extra mile to hire a personal interpreter....it would allow the director and actresses to speak with greater ease in their native language/mother tongue
Obviously they are enough fluent in English, albeit the cute French accent, they are good and it is best themselves than using a translator.
I witnessed a few times such a situation.
omg they're so cool
I love them.
i want adele’s jacket it’s so cool??
the blonde woman is cute asdgfsfhk
the blonde woman😟
아델❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really thought it was a real story but movie is very amazing
LOVE is LOVE..WE NEED MORE WOMEN IN LOVE MOVIES
I watched the movie a couple days ago and I just wish my eye fucking skills were as good as these two women in the film
Best movie ever for sure!
Is there a second season for him?
Adele reminds me of Billie Eilish being interviewed very natural and expressive facial expressions.
Past and present.
obsessed with noemi
I dont understand why never has a translator to help them in these intervews... #frombrazil...
28.30 Adèle's face 😅 She was so angry in this events idk why
I just see her listening, concentrating, it is a second language, remember. I also imagine it is very tedious to be on the road having to answer many of the same questions, over and over. I think Celine is amazingly eloquent. And I think Adele is a very talented actress, not necessarily a public speaker, artists often find explaining their craft difficult, that's why they are driven to perfect their art rather than talking about it😏
But is it released??
US release is Dec 6 2019.
