Hi, thank you for this very informative video! I wanted to ask, when it’s time for the carrier to pay you, how do you get the money and ensure that you get your portion? Also, what do you use quick books for? Do you recommend it?
I use quickbooks to receive payments. I create an invoice weekly in QB based off the loads I book. Then QB allows me to send them the invoice with a link to pay me for my services.

I tell my students all the time, you don’t have to cold call if you don’t want to, there’s multiple ways to get clients!

Hi Carli, great video! Will people go for 7% percent in today’s market, or is it best to start low & work your way up? For ex: 5-6%
Some will! But start low, add more value, and then raise the price later if you want but right now, I’m doing 6% for new carriers

When you posted your ads on craigslist, did you have to pay a fee?
You do have to pay a fee on craigslist. It's $5. When you post in the "craigslist community" i believe it's free.
Can you do medical carrier services in your personal vehicle?

Would I have to Make the contract first with the carrier before I make the appointment at DAT and how long does it take for the company to verify this process ? Like time length ?
Yeah, you wanna let the carrier know this, as stated in the video. Some are getting approved within a day, but there is no exact timeline for this.

Literally just type in “owner operators”. There’s dozens!
Is it possible to dispatch from outside of USA ?
It isn’t impossible but load boards are cracking down on what they call “foreign access” and vpn’s and such!

I'm not a CPA, but people often do it as just a sole proprietor from what i hear.
How was your carrier getting paid? Directly from the broker or did you use factoring company? If so, how do you bring that up to your carrier? I heard that factoring comps are not good for long run? Thanks
No, he wasn’t trying to pay them a fee AND me, so he got paid directly from the broker, & would pay me/us weekly after I invoiced him.

How to interview a carrier? What are the appropriate questions to ask them to know exactly what is that they are looking for so I could provide best service?
Also, what boundaries to have with them?
I’ve heard terrible stories of dispatchers searching for loads all day and carries turning them down.
Fisrt of all you have to know how to disptch, dispatching your own company or being a company driver to know expenses, after that you have to study the market, know where are hot loads and where are the dead zones
