I just realized: This version of Ash's Journey makes at least a bit more sense. That Team Rocket is obsessed with Ash or his Pikachu doesn't really make sense. If he was a boy with a Ho-oh that is on top of that able to attract an unlimited number of Phoenixes their obsession would be absolutely warranted...

I always wished Ho-oh would come back in the Anime to Ash to be his FIRST Legendary Pokemon Catch and to help him to win a Major Championship. In Aloha Ash was there first, and in the Orange Islands nobody really counts that as a major championship be it only having a few gyms and the finals being rushed as well as it not being a different/unique area, as well as in the Anime it's hardly count and almost never mentioned at all. I want Ash to win a Major Title in the Series and finally become a Pokemon Master WITH Ho-oh by his side in a OH MY GOSH MOMENT.
It’s almost sad that a game like this is a fan based game. If Game Freak were smart then they should hire these mods and have them make these games for sell. I feel bad for those who can’t play this version of Pokémon
If many game developers hired modders and hard-core gamers we would have way more amazing games. Instead, they make games for casuals as that's what makes them more money :(

@@ObsidianOsama hey! Fire Ash cannot be played on regular GBA Emulators, its basically computer only. Once you downloaded and unpacked it on your laptop or computer, it doesnt require any additional software

Its based on Pokemon Essentials, which means Laptop/PC only. There has been an Essential Apps for most phones (Joiplay) but its not working well with fire ash.
@@clemondo89 agreed! There are many pokemon essentials Games out there, I wish someone could port the engine to something the switch can handle. I actually tried it by installing Android on my switch and then the Joiplay App, which is an essentials Emulator. But I wouldnt say its playable, the little Times it actually booted up, it was a 1fps experience

Seriously, I get the reference, but couldn’t they have at least just made it on-level with everything else for balancing purposes? This thing could literally solo all of Kanto.

if this has gen 3/5 mechanics, spinning doesn't use steps but still rolls encounters. just go into a corner, pop 1 repel and switch between the two spots your character can't move to
So, I could be wrong, but doesn't the bug catching contest affect your score based on how much remaining health your catch has? So by using false swipe with Scizor (it looked like that's what you were doing) you're essentially making it impossible for you to win. You'd basically have to make sure to catch your Pokemon with full health (or closer to it) to have a good chance at winning. (Maybe this contest is programmed differently, but I'm pretty sure that's how it worked in the older games. If this isn't the case, feel free to disregard, but it could be worth trying out and seeing if that was the problem)
Hey! Yeah in the Mainline Games the Bug Catching Contest take the HP into consideration, but it only makes a little part of the overall score. It is true that false swiping your pokemon reduces your chances a little, but it still doesnt make it inpossible to win. Another huge factor in Gen 2 is who you compete against. Cool Trainer Nick for example almost always has a score of over 350, while your maximum winning chances, if all Stars align (max stats lvl 14 scyther with max hp) is 400. Bulbapedia has an quite interesting article about it. Usually I always false swipe the pokemon out of convenience, and was still able to win the contest (See my gen 2 POC) but here I think I tried it at least 50 Times, including making a chart, and never came past place 3. This is either extremely bad luck or a small oversight in the Games Code. Remember that Fire Ash is a Fangame and thus the Programming is Fan-made too. The Creators also acknowledged the Problem already, so I hope the winning chances get a bit reworked when 3.0 comes out soon! :D
I'm glad to see you linked the game even tho the website doesn't work anymore likely due to copy right reasons but the fact you put the link makes me happy as most people don't link the games and some games not this one but games like this than to be a bit of a pain to find downloads for
I think that the Pokemon Fire Ash game should've included all of the Pokemon from Legends Arceus, Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet along with the DLC as well.

Hey! The whole process of playing the Game was around 3 months, that yielded me around 180 hours of footage if I remember correctly. And that also took 3 months to process. So this behemoth took 6 months in total :D

Sylveon… sylveon screwed with my head for a second because I forgot he evolved one and my head kept saying “How does he have 494 pokemon before Unova when there’s only 493” then I remembered Sylveon is technically a gen 6 pokemon but he got it back in kanto

Well, I am done here. Watched the entire video(had to go to sleep halfway through) and I must say that Reinheartmax is a big fan of the anime and was able to emulate the experience of all seven seasions of the Pokemon anime and Ash Ketchum's adventures, though I have some gripes: * Having to grind wild Ho-Oh because it was made a 1% encounter on Route 1 is a bit ridiculous when he made every other legendary a static encounter. I think he could have programmed Ho-Oh to be a static encounter although wild Ho-Oh slaughter was pretty much the best way to get EXP in that game. He could have programmed Chansey and Audino to be 1% encounters instead at the proper level of the routes. Let's Go had 1% wild Chanseys in many routes and Gen 5 games had shaking grass with a 95% chance of wild Audino and these Pokemon give tons more EXP than the sacred chicken if he did what Black/White did and made Audino scale down slower than the other Pokemon. * No Ash-Greninja? Lame. I know that it would be a bit of a pain but he could have made the unique Froakie gain the Battle Bond ability(from the demo) when it evolved to Greninja. * Sadly, I stopped watching the anime just before Snowbelle City(though I accidentally started watching the wrong episode because the cable networks are idiots) and dropped the anime when I saw Ash looking like goofy Jaden as a design choice. But I am glad I got to catch up on the story from this playthrough.

Bro absolute madlad! I finished the game just about a week ago and I didnt catch alot of mons as I just killed legendaries. In my playtrough I made Ash's companion change and instead of pikachu I made it Charizard then in Hoenn I made it Swampert
The biggest mistake is the possibility to catch Ho-Oh at the beginning. In the TV Series Ash and Pikachu was on the ground and Ho-Oh in the air, far away, it was impossible to catch this Pokémon and it was not intended. To catch Fearow or later Moltres is realistic but not Ho-Oh at the beginning. It‘s make no fun to have a strong Pokémon at the beginning. It was a bad idea from the developer.
Favorite part is that I just realized I never “finished” the frontier I never received all those symbols I don’t think I ever received a symbol but if I’m not mistaken I beat the one where you’re poisoned and have 2 Pokémon? I could be incorrect on those details. Only 3 I liked. The pyramid in the dark, the snake, and the one where you borrow Pokémon if I’m not mistaken
Seems that the dev, Reinheartmax, saw your stream and saw you skip gym leaders and said "Oh sh**, patch time!" It's nice when a game dev sees that stuff is getting skipped and anime moments are gone, so they go back and fix it. I think it is necessary not to skip gyms. Also, I think one fix he should do is make Ho-Oh a static encounter you have to catch instead of a 1% encounter on Route 1, because putting a legendary Pokemon in the wild encounter pool only allows you to murder legendary Pokemon for massive EXP. X(
Oh yes, he actually wrote in the comment section of my kanto video (this here is the supercut, all regions are also there as seperate videos) He saw which shortcuts I did take and patched some things out. Pretty cool. When it comes to the ho-ohs I was actually glad it was possible ;P would had been at least 50 hours more I think if it wasnt for ho-oh grinding, maybe more

Okay I'm 1 hour and 30 minutes in. First of respect for the developer team behind that. I know gen 3 is the most friendly with modding. Would love to have seen Gen. 4 or 5 engine however. As you don't show us everything I don't know how many trainers you battle on routes. At the moment it looks really empty, but that could just be you not showing any Trainer battles despite gyms, Rivals, Team Rocket and contests. This is understandable as it is a Professor oaks challenge and you have a nearly 3 hour video already. Then a lot of respect for you for doing this intense playthrough. Personally for me and I understand why you do it as you need to play this format to do a Professor Oaks challenge, but the constant grind on Route 1 in Kanto for Ho-Oh and your team with 5 meow and Ho-Oh seems negating the idea behind the game. As fun as a Professor OAK challenge is, it just doesn't fit well in this game. It feels like it doesn't use the chances the game gives you. Instead of a diverse team of pokemon to counter obstacles your Ho-Oh burns through everything. But that is just my opinion.

Also, I guess you had to say the challenge is technically a failure but not by your own hand because the Bug Catching Contest is unwinnable because it's a work-in-progress and they decided that nobody does the Bug-Catching Contest. :p I do appreciate your call, though. If it were me, I'd delete the game and just go back to Pokemon Soul Silver and try to do that challenge. I'm glad you aren't a quitter and that's a shame that the challenge didn't work right because of issues in the game because this game is trying to emulate the anime and I think they should know people play this game.
haha yes, I wanted it to be transparent, in case someone was doing the challenge at the time as well that they dont have to try over and over like me. In the end it doesnt really matter to me if some little hiccups like this is in it, its all about the fun :D

How many shinies did you manage to get from this challenge?
Besides the ones the game gives you (Noctowl and I think Guzzlord) I got a shiny Grubbin, Spearow and Ho-oh during the challenge

Well, I am done here. Watched the entire video(had to go to sleep halfway through) and I must say that Reinheartmax is a big fan of the anime and was able to emulate the experience of all seven seasions of the Pokemon anime and Ash Ketchum's adventures, though I have some gripes:
* Having to grind wild Ho-Oh because it was made a 1% encounter on Route 1 is a bit ridiculous when he made every other legendary a static encounter. I think he could have programmed Ho-Oh to be a static encounter although wild Ho-Oh slaughter was pretty much the best way to get EXP in that game. He could have programmed Chansey and Audino to be 1% encounters instead at the proper level of the routes. Let's Go had 1% wild Chanseys in many routes and Gen 5 games had shaking grass with a 95% chance of wild Audino and these Pokemon give tons more EXP than the sacred chicken if he did what Black/White did and made Audino scale down slower than the other Pokemon.
* No Ash-Greninja? Lame. I know that it would be a bit of a pain but he could have made the unique Froakie gain the Battle Bond ability(from the demo) when it evolved to Greninja.
* Sadly, I stopped watching the anime just before Snowbelle City(though I accidentally started watching the wrong episode because the cable networks are idiots) and dropped the anime when I saw Ash looking like goofy Jaden as a design choice. But I am glad I got to catch up on the story from this playthrough.
I hope you enjoyed the video! And yeah, the game is not perfect, I enjoyed it for what it is nevertheless, Reinhartmax and all of the team did a great job and definetly showed passion 👍
Bro absolute madlad! I finished the game just about a week ago and I didnt catch alot of mons as I just killed legendaries. In my playtrough I made Ash's companion change and instead of pikachu I made it Charizard then in Hoenn I made it Swampert
did they also sit on ash's hat? haha

The biggest mistake is the possibility to catch Ho-Oh at the beginning. In the TV Series Ash and Pikachu was on the ground and Ho-Oh in the air, far away, it was impossible to catch this Pokémon and it was not intended. To catch Fearow or later Moltres is realistic but not Ho-Oh at the beginning. It‘s make no fun to have a strong Pokémon at the beginning. It was a bad idea from the developer.

Favorite part is that I just realized I never “finished” the frontier I never received all those symbols I don’t think I ever received a symbol but if I’m not mistaken I beat the one where you’re poisoned and have 2 Pokémon? I could be incorrect on those details. Only 3 I liked. The pyramid in the dark, the snake, and the one where you borrow Pokémon if I’m not mistaken
Seems that the dev, Reinheartmax, saw your stream and saw you skip gym leaders and said "Oh sh**, patch time!" It's nice when a game dev sees that stuff is getting skipped and anime moments are gone, so they go back and fix it. I think it is necessary not to skip gyms. Also, I think one fix he should do is make Ho-Oh a static encounter you have to catch instead of a 1% encounter on Route 1, because putting a legendary Pokemon in the wild encounter pool only allows you to murder legendary Pokemon for massive EXP. X(

He saw which shortcuts I did take and patched some things out. Pretty cool. When it comes to the ho-ohs I was actually glad it was possible ;P would had been at least 50 hours more I think if it wasnt for ho-oh grinding, maybe more

Okay I'm 1 hour and 30 minutes in. First of respect for the developer team behind that. I know gen 3 is the most friendly with modding. Would love to have seen Gen. 4 or 5 engine however. As you don't show us everything I don't know how many trainers you battle on routes. At the moment it looks really empty, but that could just be you not showing any Trainer battles despite gyms, Rivals, Team Rocket and contests. This is understandable as it is a Professor oaks challenge and you have a nearly 3 hour video already. Then a lot of respect for you for doing this intense playthrough. Personally for me and I understand why you do it as you need to play this format to do a Professor Oaks challenge, but the constant grind on Route 1 in Kanto for Ho-Oh and your team with 5 meow and Ho-Oh seems negating the idea behind the game. As fun as a Professor OAK challenge is, it just doesn't fit well in this game. It feels like it doesn't use the chances the game gives you. Instead of a diverse team of pokemon to counter obstacles your Ho-Oh burns through everything. But that is just my opinion.

I do appreciate your call, though. If it were me, I'd delete the game and just go back to Pokemon Soul Silver and try to do that challenge. I'm glad you aren't a quitter and that's a shame that the challenge didn't work right because of issues in the game because this game is trying to emulate the anime and I think they should know people play this game.
haha yes, I wanted it to be transparent, in case someone was doing the challenge at the time as well that they dont have to try over and over like me. In the end it doesnt really matter to me if some little hiccups like this is in it, its all about the fun :D
