Imo, I disagree that these songs are meant to be sad. I'd say they are hopeful. It can feel sad because hope feels the most powerful when someone is feeling down. It can move you in ways similar to other powerful emotions like sadness, anger and happiness. This one definitely feels the most somber of the three, but it still carries a hopeful message that wishes to see two divergent paths conjoin once more.
Even though this song was revealed in 2.3, it was actually foreshadowing Sunday's and Robin's goodbye in 2.7... 🥲 All of the lyrics relate to things the things they talked about in that parting... I'm not crying it just rained indoors...
