    My sister has one that was both of my parents. He is a sweet and friendly little dog. He is 15 years old. I used to played with him when he was living with both of my parents home. I do missed him.

    The angry expression? Hah, I love it. You really do an excellent job, but Sophie is also very well-behaved. I can't find anyone to groom my Bichon like this. All groomers do now is shave, shave, shave. I wish, tho, this was more detailed. There's a lot of missing instruction.

    I’ve always taken my Bichon to the groomer, after 11 years and 3 different groomers.. none of them ever gave her a Bichon cut.. I’m going to try to do it myself. 🤞🏼

      Have you tried already grooming yourself? If yes, how did it go?

    • @whitmerule2753
      @whitmerule2753 7 месяцев назад

      Did you ask your groomer for a bichon cut? And did you give them a dog with sufficient (unmatted) length to work with? I have never had a bichon walk into my salon that I could turn into a breed standard clip in a single groom.
      Maintaining a long dense coat at home is hard work, and they are prone to serious tear staining, so most pet bichon cuts are modified teddy cuts with perhaps a bichon head (often with a doughnut muzzle to scoop out the stained fur under the eyes). Groomers will usually default to something easier than breed standard for the dog's own wellbeing - unless you specifically request otherwise. Just communicate.

      @@ishakak147 i just started grooming her myself about 2 months ago. It was pretty scary the first 2 times, I was worried I’d cut to much off. I’m getting better, having trouble with the legs. Plus after doing her body and face, not only am I tired.. I think she’s about done with it and wants a break.

    • @ishakak147
      @ishakak147 7 месяцев назад

      @@iokona that's what I thought might happen (I mean also future me with my future Bichon) - that even though I would be eager, it would be tiring to do it everytime by myself. Maybe it's also lack of experience? Groomers have a lot of experience and are more confident in what they are doing, then probably this is main reason why it is faster for them.
      I would be probably so cautious with every step, that my body would go numb 😅

  • @fabuloushostess6171

    I received my dog from my husband for a birthday gift. She was given to him because the person who owned her passed away and the other family members didn’t want the problem of taking care of her.
    She does not like baths or grooming. I don’t know what to do. I took her to a groomer and they shaved her down to her skin almost. Now the hair is back, how can I calm her down for a good grooming?

    • @bzebee5979
      @bzebee5979 Год назад

      I have the same problem with my 2 year old bichon. She won't willingly let me groom her. I take her for a bath, brush, blow dry and teeth every 2 weeks and a full groom every 6 weeks. I try and brush her every day using treats as bribery.

    • @Blinknone
      @Blinknone Год назад

      There's nothing wrong with shorter hair on a Bichon. It's more practical for a lot of reasons, especially if you're grooming at home. I cut mine to 3/8 inch on back sides, legs, and a little longer on the head. A good set of clippers works great for it.

    My daughter, my daughter in law and I we have 5 bichons and it is so hard to keep them trimmed, and so expensive to take them to trim, it’s insane, it used to be 55.00 now is already 75 each, I have 3 of them, so that is 225 every time plus another chihuahua that we have, it’s insane

    I have the same dog, i got to say, the work done is very professional, but the finished hair cut totally hides this breeds character, the dog started out looking cute because of its natural look, now it looks cute because of the grooming, part of its face and personality is gone....
