    It baffles me that this channel isn’t “bigger” in the RUclips community for guitarists.
    Sorry if that sounds like a backhanded comment.
    Your channel is not only hilarious in commentary, but informative in a truly practical and actionable way. Keep it up man.
    It’s been for years one of my go to lesson searches. Thank you for providing so much to people like me.

      Im not trying to bash anybody but most huge channels are just commercials for gear and now they have commercials for dollar shave club or super mobile games in the middle of the gear commercial. Sadly you can improve the way you sound way more by a little effort of learning more than you can with a new spiffy distortion pedal that sounds like the last 3 distortion pedals you've already bought. Thank god for guys like Ben cause Im broke.

    • @bradleybriscoe6108
      @bradleybriscoe6108 5 лет назад +11

      @Newbyrock23 i completely agree with you on your comment. Ben is by far the best guitar tutorial channel and best teacher on RUclips. I think why he doesn't have as many subscribers is because he actually teaches instead of doing lame gear reviews that all the same guys do of the same gear. Ben is the shit, and I mean that with the up most respect. 🤘

    • @bradleybriscoe6108
      @bradleybriscoe6108 5 лет назад +4

      And 256,000 subscribers is a hell of a lot, for a guitar instructional video. That says a tremendous amount right there.

    Hello Ben, Hope all is well with you! I don't usually comment much on RUclips videos, but you are by far and away the best teacher with loads of patience and you explain modes, scales, chords and songs and what makes them in the mode, key, scale and so on in each lesson you teach. When I see your new vids I click, and I'm an advanced player, but i always learn something new Ben. Keep up the excellent work and maybe my stepdad will have a new found respect for me! 😉

    this is a really good introduction to some really big ideas in music theory, like chord substitution and so forth. you get some classic 80s metal harmony by playing, for example Em, G and Bm arpeggios over an Em chord. for me the realisation that the diminished triad occurs in a dominant 7th chord (the V of the I-IV-V blues progression) was a game changer, because you can then play all this tritones over a whole load of chords and it will still sound good or 'right'. however, "agreeance"?!

    I use the circle of fifth To know the triads. Travel accross the circle of fifth by fifths or thirds, or even sevenths, it will open the whole guitar. E.g : Cm - D# - Gm . A Nice diatonic triangle. You'll be set to play songs knowing the tonal center and relative diatonic chords.
