    I love Octavia, one of my favorite commanders! I would love to see more of it on the channel. You are one of the best EDH gameplay channels out there

    That was fun to watch, but what's the point of making an Arcades deck if you are just going to rely on format staples to win the game? Looking over the Arcades list, I'm not seeing any synergy with Heliod or Walking Ballista outside of the infinite combo. Which is fine (I have nothing against infinite combos), but if that's your game plan, why even bother with Arcades? Sorry to rant, but I enjoyed the video regardless (just a bit of an anti-climactic ending).

    Loved the video! Most of these commanders are ones that I’ve considered building. Glad i could see them in action before i decide which one to make

    Okay, so question: What commander would you recommend for a Friend Hug deck?
    The idea would be running a lot of the Tempt, Join forces, ect... Convince my friends to buy into a massive board state.
    And hope that my friends are fun enough not to have an infinite combo.

    For me it's so borrowing winning on forever mana and walking batista. I'm ot much into these loops and luckily we don't use that in my group :)

    Would not have played the Jeweled Lotus until you're ready to cast Niv... that way it catches your opponent's off guard and they don't keep up removal

    So Shelby would have won if she soulbonded without moving lightning greaves?

    • @hl_phoenix5889
      @hl_phoenix5889 2 года назад +4

      Yes, Souldbond ignores shroud so Niv-Mizzet would draw a card and deal one damage, and because Niv-Mizzets text says he's doing the damage, T.L. would trigger allow him to ping and draw. Creating the infinite loop of pinging.

    Awesome game! Love seeing Niv going off and being kept in check. Cool that he was able to dig for a FG to counter the Rapid Hybridization. I think Niv should have pinged chandler exclusively after allowing Chandler to draw off of Flumph. Smothering Tithe + Rhystic = greater enemy than Niv once the Curiosity effect is dealt with.

    Does chandler have a chandler deck, so that he can hate on those artifact creatures

    Does the damage of the Niv-Mizzet triggers not count as commander damage? I thougt damage by effects of commanders also counted.

    • @hl_phoenix5889
      @hl_phoenix5889 2 года назад +2

      It does not. Ability damage by commanders is ruled as Regular damage and only through Combat does Commander Damage take place. Otherwise Yuriko, Xantcha, Niv, etc. would be considered over powered and likely face bans I imagine.

    There was no Soulbond for the second time Niv was cast, as the Tandem Lookout was already paired to Ragavan

    So how did Walking Ballista get the win again?

    • @SmoothBrainEDH
      @SmoothBrainEDH  2 года назад +8

      It was the combination of Heliod and Walking Ballista that won the game. If you already have Heliod, Sun-Crowned on the field, you just need to play a Ballista on 2, then activate Heliod to give the Ballista lifelink. Every time you remove a counter from Ballista to ping someone, you'll gain a life and Heliod will out another counter in the Ballista. Rinse and repeat until all your opponents are gone!

    Infinite comboes ruins the game and only pushes the power level up. Also games are supposed to last longer than just into early game. Watched a couple of your videos now and often 1-2 decks don´t do anything before someone combos off.
