I missed two, so 14/16. Never watched "What's Happening" and never paid much attention to the "Fantasy Island" music, what we all remember is Tattoo's famous line "Look, da plane!"
You're right. Another viewer also mentioned that. Sorry for the mis-step. We try to be accurate, but we messed up. I do appreciate someone with attention to detail!! So thanks for that.
I understand. But seriously, did we ever really listen to the theme songs when the shows were coming on? We were busy using the rest room, or grabbing some soft drink!! Thanks for playing.
Thank you for the childhood flash back to my favorite time of life. I was born in 1972 so amazing and good programming. I remembered all the theme songs, the last one was a close one almost didn't get it.
Wow, what a nice complement. I'm sooooo happy this let you flash back to a wonderful time. (And thanks for the "good programming" thing too. Very nice.) I have a quiz coming out TODAY (July 21, 2024) that should do the same thing!!! I hope. Thanks for playing...
What a great trip down memory lane! I got 14 of16. I missed WKRP because I never watched that show, and I missed Fantasy Island. I was surprised by that because I watched it every week. I just never realized how generic the theme song was.
I think we all did. "Remember when?" Remember when we all only had 3 basic channels? ABC, NBC and CBS? and rabbit ears? We just watched a lot of those old shows. At least I did. Thanks for playing today...
I was doing great til number 15. Didn't understand static, but it was one of my favorite tv shows. Three of these songs became hits on the radio. Theme from Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and Welcome Back Kotter. They all hit in 1976. The Facts of Life was technically in the 1970s but came out in the fall of 1979.
@@rickloera9468 hi. Sorry for that. I pinned a comment but most folks don’t see it. YT made me scrub the sound on #15 Sanford and Sons for copyright reasons. So that one is a freebie. And thanks for the 1970s trivia of songs that made it on the radio. Good idea for another quiz!!
Missed What's Happening and Facts of Life, funny considering I never missed a show 😂. I don't know about the Sanford and Son theme song 🤔. Had many fun memories and lots of fun guessing the themes 😊.
Only one didn’t know was The Muppet Show! I was 13 when came out, so naturally to old to watch by then!!!! 70s was probably the best decade for TV shows!!!!!
The Muppet Show wasn't targeted at young children, it was for more the teen and young adult market. I watched the heck out of it when i was 16 and up, lol.
Got them all with the obvious exception of the one that had the audio pulled. I always have fun with theme song videos. Sometimes I get them all Sometimes I barely get any but I always have fun trying no matter the result.
13/16. Never watched What's Happening or Fantasy Island... The other miss was Facts of Life... I watched that fairly often, couldn't recognize the theme music quick enough.
This is a great score. And I love your honesty on how well you did. I'm trying to decide if I were to be so honest???!!! It would be so easy to say, "Yep, got'em all right", even if I didn't. So thanks so much for that...and thanks for playing.
Got 15 right, missed Fantasy Island. TV shows today aren't as good today as they were back in the 50's,60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. My top favorite shows were The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Emergency, Daniel Boone and Major Dad. The commercials were classic back in those days. I even have my favorite commercials.
We are so on the same page. Pretty obvious why I'm loving making these quizzes. I love these shows, and cartoons, and all this Retro stuff. The shows you mention...will show up in current or future quizzes...I promise you that!! And TV commercials, and TV commercial jingles...its all fun, fun, fun!! Stay tuned!!
Your very welcome. That is why we do this. So we call can remember a slice of "when things were simpler". The other decade videos are fun to. The 60's, the 80's...
Given the 70's were my teen years, I got all of these but the fifth one... I honestly don't ever remember seeing (or hearing) a show called "What's Happening". Maybe it didn't make it's way to Canada, though certainly all the rest did. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how easy it was to recognize the rest of them. lol
14/16, missed 15 b/c didn’t hear the music. I definitely know Sanford and son. I watched it tonight. Missed 16, I knew the tune but couldn’t get to the show name quick enough in my head 😮
You are right and you get #15 as a Freebie! RUclips made us 'scrub' the song because of copyright reasons. It happens!! So you get credit for 15/16!! Awesome Job!! And thanks for playing....
Being a Brit the only ones I got were Charlie's Angels,MASH,the Muppet Show,Happy Days and the Partridge Family. There were several more that I recognised but couldn;t think of the TV show until the answer was revealed (The Love Boat,The Odd Couple, etc.) Like that Jon Sebastian tune a lot.
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Hi,I've been trying to think of British TV show themes from the 70s,so here's a list of suggestions I've put together: All Creatures Great and Small Animal Magic Are You Being Served? The Avengers/The New Avengers (from the 60s and 70s) BBC's cricket coverage/Test Match Special (still in use today) Black Beauty Blue Peter Coronation Street (in use since the 60s and still today) Crossroads Dad's Army Dixon of Dock Green Doctor in the House/Doctor at Large (from the 60s and 70s) Dr Who (still in use today but the 60s and 70s versions are the best!) Emmerdale Farm (still in use today, soap opers's name shortened to just Emmerdale) Fawlty Towers The Good Life Grandstand It Ain't Half Hot Mum It's a Knockout/Jeux Sans Frontieres ITV News at Ten (still in use today but the 70s/80s version has the most gravitas) Last of the Summer Wine The Liver Birds The Magic Roundabout Magpie Man About the House Man Alive Mastermind Match of the Day (still in use today) Monty Python's Flying Circus The Onedin Line Paddington Bear Panorama (still in use today, slightly altered) The Persuaders Play School Please Sir! Pot Black Rainbow Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) Ski Sunday (still in use today just originally used on the 1976? Winter Olympics) The Sky at Night Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em The South Bank Show Sportsnight Steptoe & Son Tales of the Unexpected The Sweeney That's Life! Tomorrow's World The Two Ronnies Van der Valk Vision On Weekend World Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? What the Papers Say Whicker's World (60s and 70s) World of Sport The World at War Plus three classic ones I've added three from US programmes that we watched a lot over here: Hawaii Five-O The Rockford Files Thunderbirds (in fact pretty much any of Gerry Anderson's creations, such as Captain Scarlet,Stingray, etc.)
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Darn, that is one big list. I LOVE IT! I'll copy all of these and take them back to our deep, underground Lair, and start working on it!!
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Thanks. Glad you like it. I thought of one more to add : The Benny Hill Show them - should raise a smirk or two. Would Morecambe & Wise always finishing their show with "Bring Me Sunshine" count?
I got four wrong. I got What's Happening!! Wrong as I have never seen it before Fantasy Island. My sister and I grew up watching the program as we loved watching Tattoo WKRP In Cincinnati. My mom was the only one who watched this program Sanford and Son. I would have gotten it if RUclips hadn't put a copyright on it Also I'm a new subscriber here
I got 13. I've never hear of "What's Happening." The themes for "WKRP" and "The Odd Couple" sounded familiar and I would have gotten them if they would have been played a little longer. I guess "Facts of Life" could technically be considered a '70s show since it started in 1979, but it is mostly an '80s show.
Yes, you are right. I 'typo'ed' above, and said upcoming "60s" videos. Meant to say 70s. Nice catch. I love folks with a clear attention to detail!! (Actually, that show is scheduled for my Vol 3 1970s Quiz. There were so many great shows in that decade!)
I want to know where the Good Times theme was!... Good times, anytime you make a payment Good times anytime you're feeling free Good times, when your gettin out from under Not gettin hassled not gettin hustled ...I could type the rest of it, for some reason it has been stuck in my memory since I think it was on TV...oh what the hell Keepin your head above water Makin your way when you can Temporary layoffs Good times Easy credit rip offs Good times Believe me honey we got 'em Good times (with the word times drawn out) oh yeah
8. I never saw 'What's Happening' and I had completely forgotten 'Fantasy Island' because it's so boring and lame. Glad you didn't do easy ones like 'Brady Bunch', 'Hawaii 5-0' 'Bonanza' or 'Different Strokes'. Though 'Suicide is Painless' is pretty iconic for M*A*S*H.
Funny you say that. Because those are all great shows, and (whispering now...I do use those shows in other videos! Some of those videos are not released yet.) So, keep watching and thanks.
Thats a great score. The 70's had some awesome TV, and thanks to, what?, Nick At Nite and Tubi and other streamers, we can all enjoy them!! And just for fun, I just dropped our Volume 2, Guess the 70's Show by Theme song. Check it out at: ruclips.net/video/csae0raJ7l4/видео.html
As soon as the name was revealed on #15 I started muttering the theme. If we can't name the show based on the theme because it's scrubbed, singing the theme based on the name seems a fair alternative. Only missed What's Happening, recognized the theme but couldn't place it, and Fantasy Island, never seen an episode on tv. I was a reruns baby.
I remember their was a reboot of What's Happening Now. Also the one who played Raj played a bit part in a two parter of In the Heat of the night Brotherly Love; the actress who played is wife on What Happening Now played Althea on In the Heat of the night
Couldn't remember the name of What's Happening, although I knew that was the show. Fun fact: the Doobie Brothers guest starred in one episode. It has some of their best songs in it. Highly recommend you ask YooToob to play it for you.
#5. Hey Hey Hey was not uttered by Fred Barry but by Dwayne Nelson played Haywood Nelson. His original catchphrase was simply supposed to be one “Hey” but he decided to to change it to Hey Hey Hey.
@@charleskroman5006 you are correct. I have been “fact checked” on this a time or two. Unfortunately I can’t update the video. But I love yours and others attention to the details. Thanks for the comment and thanks for playing !!!!
@ your welcome. And thanks for posting your videos. I had fun playing, unfortunately I got #12 wrong. I never would have guessed Fantasy Island. It sounds too much like The Flying Nun.
Fantasy Island thru me as the Theme was not something that stood out.. AND Sanford & Son as the Main Portion of the Song was left out. So I got 14 of 16!
I got every one of them right, because I watch(ed) everyone of them, except Charlie's Angels, I didn't like that show at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I knew that one, because my sister used to watch that show!! A lot of these shows I still watch today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
13. Missed What's Happening, Fantasy Island, and (though the tune was familiar, I couldn't think of the show fast enough) The Odd Couple. Given I was born in 1983, I'll take it.
13 is good! And you are part of a large group who all missed those two specifically. Not sure why. (Also, since I'm here, I'll tell you that Pop Culture Quizzes just came out with Volume 2 for Iconic 70's TV!! ruclips.net/video/csae0raJ7l4/видео.html Check it out!)
True facts about a few of the actors, my aunt dated Ralph Mouth, Cindy Williams came to the casino where my now ex husband once worked, my mom and I had dinner with a couple of guys who worked for Redd Foxx before the show started, my uncle sat behind Gavin Mccloud on a bus and lastly I was face to face with Jack Klugman at the Del Mar Racetrack. He couldn't talk at the time due to his throat cancer.
Yeah. You're right. I kind'a cheated as the Pilot originally aired on NBC on August 24, 1979. But continued all they way until May, 1988. So you're right, but for some reason, we stuck it in the 70's vid??? Thanks for keeping us honest here at PCQ!!
Thanks for playing this quiz too. All but 4 is a good score. And you may have noticed that #15, Sanford and Sons, its audio was muted out. YT made me for copyright reasons. So #15 is a Freebie!!
I would not consider Facts of Life to be a 70s show. Yes, it started in August 1979, but out of a nine year run, it was on in the 70s for just four months.
I have to admit, I did miss 2 of these, The Moffets, and Sanford & Son. I remember most if these very well. The Jefferson's was one of my all time favorites. During it's original run, though, many people I knew then said that it was Isabel Sanford, aka Wheezy, who sang the opening theme, Movin' on Up. One good 70's sitcom you did miss, was Good Times. Another of NY favorites wax The Love Boat, which some people thought that it was Gavin McLeod, aka the Captain, who sang the opening theme. As for the closing credits on some episodes, they indicated that the script coordinator was Adam Rich, aka Nicholas Bradford, of Eight is Enough.
It's spelled "Muppets," by the way. "Battlestar Galactica" would've been an obvious show to use, it had highly recognizable theme music but only lasted one season.
Just so you know, Whats Happ and Fant Island are the two most missed, based on my unscientific pole here in the comments. So, anyway, you're in good company. Thanks for playing.
They know....read the comments before you repeat something for the 10th time. Just want to think you are smarter then other?? Make a video, we'll all watch and point out all your errors....jeez people.

Call back and call whoever made you scrub that theme song a Big Dummy! 9>)
That's crazy because I just herd Stanford and Son theme on a different video.
Hahahah. Fred Sanford wanted money even from beyond.
The 70’s had it all, music, tv, freedom! I’d go back in a heart beat.
Right?? I was a kid then, early teens. I loved it too.
Me too 🤗
You blew #15, Sanford & Son.
Yeah, that's the only one I missed,. I know the theme to Sanford and Son, and they didn't actually play it.
Yeah I think the got hit with copyright and had to scramble it
Yes. Pauline is correct. I pinned a comment explaining the YT made me scrub the Sanford an d Sons theme. I guess it is what it is. No biggie really.
ditto
Fun fact the Happy Days theme wasn't used until the second season. They used Rock around the clock in the first season.
Darn! You're right. I love it when folks are smarter than me!! Thanks for the clarification.
The HD pilot was actually an episode of “Love American Style”. Betcha didn’t know that, either.

WKRP was such a great show 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 "booger"
10 out of 16... for somebody born just after the decade ended, that's pretty dang good I think!
I think so too. Try the 1980's TV show quiz. That may have some more recognizable shows...

Too easy for this Baby Boomer, but lots of fun!! Thank you for the great memories. :)
Well, thank you! …for playing and for letting us know you had fun and had great memories.
16/16. These shows premiered while I was in elementary school. M*A*S*H, The Facts of Life, The Jeffersons, and a few others lasted into high school.
Ahh. I see you took the 70's Quiz. And aced it. Nice work, and thanks for playing all the quizzes....
I loved MASH. Watched it all the time.

Interesting. I just replied to another from the UK. Should we do a UK quiz? What shows should I include???
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Hi,I've been trying to think of British TV show themes from the 70s,so here's a list of suggestions I've put together:
All Creatures Great and Small
Animal Magic
Are You Being Served?
The Avengers/The New Avengers (from the 60s and 70s)
BBC's cricket coverage/Test Match Special (still in use today)
Black Beauty
Blue Peter
Coronation Street (in use since the 60s and still today)
Crossroads
Dad's Army
Dixon of Dock Green
Doctor in the House/Doctor at Large (from the 60s and 70s)
Dr Who (still in use today but the 60s and 70s versions are the best!)
Emmerdale Farm (still in use today, soap opers's name shortened to just Emmerdale)
Fawlty Towers
The Good Life
Grandstand
It Ain't Half Hot Mum
It's a Knockout/Jeux Sans Frontieres
ITV News at Ten (still in use today but the 70s/80s version has the most gravitas)
Last of the Summer Wine
The Liver Birds
The Magic Roundabout
Magpie
Man About the House
Man Alive
Mastermind
Match of the Day (still in use today)
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Onedin Line
Paddington Bear
Panorama (still in use today, slightly altered)
The Persuaders
Play School
Please Sir!
Pot Black
Rainbow
Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
Ski Sunday (still in use today just originally used on the 1976? Winter Olympics)
The Sky at Night
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em
The South Bank Show
Sportsnight
Steptoe & Son
Tales of the Unexpected
The Sweeney
That's Life!
Tomorrow's World
The Two Ronnies
Van der Valk
Vision On
Weekend World
Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?
What the Papers Say
Whicker's World (60s and 70s)
World of Sport
The World at War
Plus three classic ones I've added three from US programmes that we watched a lot over here:
Hawaii Five-O
The Rockford Files
Thunderbirds (in fact pretty much any of Gerry Anderson's creations, such as Captain Scarlet,Stingray, etc.)
Hi 1970's TV Quiz fans, Pop Culture Quizzes just came out with Volume 2 for Iconic 70's TV!! ruclips.net/video/csae0raJ7l4/видео.html Check it out!
I got four wrong. I got What's Happening!! Wrong as I have never seen it before
Fantasy Island. My sister and I grew up watching the program as we loved watching Tattoo
WKRP In Cincinnati. My mom was the only one who watched this program
Sanford and Son. I would have gotten it if RUclips hadn't put a copyright on it
Also I'm a new subscriber here
13 is great. And yes, some shows should be in the next decade. We messed up a bit on some. Thanks for your attention to detail!!

Got all of them except Sanford and Son because the music was scrubbed
Great score. Yes, with #15 a freebie, you got a perfect score. And thanks for playing another quiz!!
I got 12, this started out real easy, then got harder as you went along.
Actually, that was what I was going for...We can't make it too easy, right? Nice job and thanks for playing our quizzes.

Got them all
Was sad not to see "Little House on the Prairie" in the quiz
Aced it. Nice work. BUT...you will see Little House, in one of my TWO more upcoming 1960's vids I'm working on. So stay tuned....!
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Little House premiered in 1974. It's a 70's show.

When you played Sanford and Son, all the I heard was Static. Never heard the theme song until After the reveal.
Best time in my life, I've been buying those series cuz they're nothing on TV
I want to know where the Good Times theme was!...
Good times, anytime you make a payment
Good times anytime you're feeling free
Good times, when your gettin out from under
Not gettin hassled not gettin hustled
...I could type the rest of it, for some reason it has been stuck in my memory since I think it was on TV...oh what the hell
Keepin your head above water
Makin your way when you can
Temporary layoffs
Good times
Easy credit rip offs
Good times
Believe me honey we got 'em
Good times (with the word times drawn out)
oh yeah
14 out of 16. Had no idea on the Muppet show and drew a blank on fantasy island
Great job on getting 14 out of 16! Those were tricky ones.

I got 13 out of 16 I missed Whats Happening, Fantasy Island and WKRP in Cincinnati. But I was born in the 80's so it's not so bad
I got 13. I'm happy with that since I wasn't even born until 1981.
Welcome back kotter
Absolutely the best decade of tv........
I got 15 of them 😊
All in the family
Shoot only 12, couldn't figure out, Fantasy Island, Sanford & Sons, Odd couple, WKRP
Didn’t know #5 and the theme to Sanford and son was not recognized
Ahh, I thought for sure you'd have 6 Million Dollar Man & Rockford Files.
14 out of 16. not bad seeing as i was born in '75 and these would have been in reruns when i saw them
That’s a great score. Congrats.
Got ‘em all
I missed 5 because I've never even heard of it.
15 was a what moment, the rest I knew.
15/16 72 baby, but I remember all these shows.
Fun fact my friend went to school with Donny Most from Happy Days. At a school in Brooklyn
@@Kbsmith-626 that’s awesome. I don’t think I know any real celebrities. Thanks for sharing and thanks for playing our little quiz!!
14, missed What’s Happenin and Fantasy Island
Well done. And interesting to me, that those two are by far the most missed (based on comments like yours). Thanks for playing.

That’s awesome. They are really good shows. I watch them, even today. Thanks for playing.

Wow Wow Wow, that is a lot of, well, 'run ins' with this star-studded group of people. Very Cool!! Thanks for sharing.
Did you mean that your aunt dated Ralph “Malph” ?

14 out of 16.
16 of 16: BTW, The Facts of Life was the 80s!
Yeah. You're right. I kind'a cheated as the Pilot originally aired on NBC on August 24, 1979. But continued all they way until May, 1988. So you're right, but for some reason, we stuck it in the 70's vid??? Thanks for keeping us honest here at PCQ!!
“Kind of” cheated???? There was absolutely nothing at all that was 70s about the Facts of Life.

Only missed #5. I’ve never heard of this show.
14/16 The only ones I missed were Fantasy Island and Sanford and Son.
I got all 16
Got all but 4, and didn’t grow up watching much tv…was born in 72
Thanks for playing this quiz too.
16/16.
BTW, "The Facts Of Life" may have debuted in 1979, but was far more of an 80's tv show.
Nice score. And yes, i agree with assessment. It was. But no changing it now :-). Thanks so much for playing.
As for the closing credits on some episodes, they indicated that the script coordinator was Adam Rich, aka Nicholas Bradford, of Eight is Enough.
...Darn...you do seem to know your 70's TV!! That's so cool. Thanks for sharing and thanks for playing out little Quiz Channel....
It's spelled "Muppets," by the way. "Battlestar Galactica" would've been an obvious show to use, it had highly recognizable theme music but only lasted one season.
Hey 70s TV Fans. We have NOW dropped our 1970's: Volume TWO, TV Theme Songs quiz. Go there now...
Wow I got them all right ✅️ because I watched all of them
Great job!! I too, loved these shows!!!!
13/16. I missed What's Happening, Fantasy Island and The Odd Couple.
Just so you know, Whats Happ and Fant Island are the two most missed, based on my unscientific pole here in the comments. So, anyway, you're in good company. Thanks for playing.
Hey, Hey, Hey was Dwayne's catchphrase on What's Happening. He was played by Haywood Nelson.
