I can see no one renewing, I don’t think Jisoo would like to, I feel like she‘ll focus on acting, rose would like to release more music, Jennie would also like more acting, a little bit of solo music every now and then and modeling, Lisa is apparently not resigning, she can be a successful soloist!! I really hope they disband, I don’t think they’re happy under yg! As a huge fan.
That’s the thing though, obviously there management and promotions are terrible but also behind this madness, there is something being done right for Blackpink to be thriving this hard. I feel like trainee life must have been rough for all idols and so if they can go through that, there lowkey a slight leeway of them being able to handle a bit of hardship before they decide yea nah to YG
All 4 will renew. It will be a shorter contract period 3-5 years and consist of WAY MORE freedom in all aspects: personal life, music choice (type, content, and who they work with), schedule control. Reasons to stay 1. The name - It makes no sense to loose the name they have made #1 in the world. 2. Pinks - all 4 of them have stated how they struggle when doing their singles without the others involved. They truely love, admire, respect, and feed off each other. 3. Songs in the bank - YG purposefully witheld around 8 future hit songs from being released on Born Pink as a hostage for contract renewals and the girls know it. These will be absolute hits that they will enjoy performing and if they do not renew - those songs will go to Baby Monster (which is why Baby Monster is coming out now with 5 very young under age girls instead of waiting). 4. Freedom - Negotiating for more freedom with a new contract means they get to have their cake and eat it too. To be able to keep everything they have worked for since becoming trainees and have the freedom to be in control of their lives, careers, schedule, and music = perfection and why leave that.
Great points. I defs kinda see them not renewing after the first renewal for sure. Not sure whether it would be all of them but at this point in time, it seems like a real risky move to kinda not renew at the height of their fame which could be all taken away if YG decides to all or nothing them with blackpink and YG.
@@cloudchungxiao i mean completely neglected or even discarded. you can see it best when it came to CL, though it's not like the other members who stayed under YG were treated any better either
I think iif they still wwant to do music they could try to negotiate with YG to get more comebacks and have more experimentation in their sound (even if they don't write or produce, just don't have it as teddy coded as it is)
@@kkentaii yeah idk how these contracts work but given g-idle does that type of thing to cube maybe they could've said something. I really don't know what to think about this whole situation, this was just an ideia, although I really don't know what to expect
I think YG has a bit more control and so building up this popularity has been a way for Blackpink to get more leverage. If they were to speak up a few years ago, YG may not have listened because ultimately he's still in control and plus he could retaliate and ruin their career for another new girl group
they wouldn't get anything out of not-renewing contrary to what Blinks believe, no one will actually be interested in the members once they're out of a group unless YGE continues to pay for them and uses connections to keep them in and ensure that the company will continue to profit off of them when they leave. I don't want Blinks thinking that success as soloists is guaranteed when it never has been and never will especially since none of the members have solid careers as individuals, they just do things that are common with all idols.
Really? There will be so much interest if they weren't in YG still. I mean of all groups, I feel like Blackpink has amassed such a large solo stan fanbase for each girl. They'll have so much people trying to get them to join because of the clout they've basically gained from their Blackpink days. Their solo career is pretty decent too. YG hasn't really focused on music but they always drive up attention for all other aspects within their solo career. They'll do pretty well regardless but yea, there is still uncertainty with moving elsewhere
there’s so many reasons to think both sides, it’ll definitely be an all or nothing deal though. They’ll either all renew & barely promote still but they’ll still do solo material (like acting). Or they’ll not renew & it’ll be the same, they’ll just do solo material.
Hahaha yea, I was really thinking about that. Like if they renew, how much promotion will they get. Like maybe pretty similar to the group situation now but will that mean they get solo promotions a bit more to compensate for the wait of group comebacks. I mean I swear their vault must be massive with so much songs that they can package up into both full and mini albums.
I think you can find good reasons for all of them to leave, but in the end, I think they'll all renew. They know YG and how it manages the rhythm of their careers. Moving to anyplace except maybe the Black label would entail a huge disruption to their routine and I don't think they'd want to deal with that on top of figuring out how to continue. I think they are definitely demanding greater control over their careers and lives, but YG will cough up in the end. (What I'm really curious about is whether she's in a serious relationship with Frederick Arnaut. One of the world's richest men and head of legendary fashion Houses joining with a global music/fashion icon? Now that would be a National Holiday-level wedding.)
Yea, that too. YG has had a tight control over them that I do wonder whether they'd be able to kinda "take control" and know what to do completely. I feel like the value of blackpink is real high and so they'll just kinda do well at most places as long as they can do the bare minimum to help the members career.
If one, some, or all leave YGE(going to The Black Label is NOT leaving YGE)...BlackPink is finished. NO Name, No Songs(released or unreleased), Social Media, Even their Brand contracts will be effected. YGE has their had in EVERYTHING the members have done since Debut, NOTHING happened without YGE's consent and involvement. If ANY "single" BP member decides not to Renew(as the "rumors" indicate), the group would be finished. The Members are MORE powerful negotiating as a Group, fighting for BlackPInk AND Eachother. At this point, after ALL of the Members have "Strongly Hinting" that they will stay together, it WOULD NOT be a good look for one member to leave... They would alienate any fan the supports BlackPink, as well as any fan that stan individual members. It would hurt their career, and it wouldn't be a little thing. Unlike a group like Mamamoo... who have a good discography. And will continue with group activities even with two memebers in other companies. BlackPink is really just getting started, even though they have been around 7yrs. I don't think they will be able to continue as BlackPink like Mamamoo has, if members leave YGE. Unless of course it's to The Black Label(which is still YGE)
Yea, that’s the only leverage YG kinda has in forcing blackpink to stay in the company. The only thing YG can’t trademark is the goodwill and brand reputation that the members have accrued. Blackpink wont completely start new as they can relatively bounce back and use a lot of that residual blackpink fame which will carry forward to whereever they would decide to go. But yea, in saying that, it’s still a lot to kinda give up which is kinda where it could go 50/50 slightly
I see either of scenarios: A. All four renew with YG B. One member leaves and signs with a new company but the group stays together. A mamamoo situation pretty much I doubt all four would leave but i dont think they wouldn't mind not being in the main spotlight from this point on now that BabyMonster is set for an official debut. Even Jisoo during her appearance on YoungJi's sjow stated that it would be alright since they feel like they (BP) had their time and it would be fun to see the next generation after take up the spot. Hell, maybe all four do leave but sign up with TheBlackLabel or something
Yea, there is room for more and so wherever they go will not be that big of a problem. But for sure, there has been a shift within the kpop industry from when they first started and progressed. As for the whole mamamoo situation, revenue sharing does seem to be a bit of a problem and so that's why they don't comeback as frequently as we see more solo and subunit things. I mean now that Hwasa is gone, they've gotten Mamamoo+ to make another comeback
on one side it will be much more convenient for them to renew the contract, because they'll have the upper hand to choose their own term and probably have much more control on their careers without changing the environment. also their divination share would probably increase too, giving them much more stability in the money wise. however as people have known, YG is a company that hard to guess, even Data a former 2ne1 member who's been long in there also don't have much more advantage for being loyal to that company. there is even a wild guess of mine that if the baby monster debuted were successful then YG will find a way to hinder the BP members to be more active despite having a contract to proves that they'll not exist without them. the everlasting YG Petty moves, this kind of arrogance has been YG bone for so long. so if the girls did think for a long wise career then it's actually better to look for another company that could nurture them more to settle while still having a big fame.
Yea, actually that's one thing I wanna know too. Like we really don't know the behind the scenes. I wonder what they know and how they're actually treated within the company; whether they think they have that type of fanbase that will follow them or whether they're still kinda "degraded" to feel as though YG is a really large factor til now to explain their success. YG will probably do a lot with Baby Monster because they'll be fresh into their debut and so that means a strong debut will mean many years of a locked contract with YG.
jennie renewing her contract: with all the hate she got from the lazy accusations, the v dating rumor and other things, and yg not doing ANYTHING… i feel it’d be better for her to maybe spend some time away from the limelight to hone her acting skills and release her own solo album, because yg does NOT know how to manage all that well: they never address jennie’s health issues, which leaves ambiguity to whether there are any in the first place, they never properly defend her when dating rumors surface and they always use her as a doll rather than an idol (all the brand deals, the idol, met gala, etc) so i think she won’t renew because they don’t see her potential
Yea, i mean also with baby monster debuting, I feel like Jennie might know she can guarantee some chill time because YG would be too busy with them. But yea, there has been such a lack of protection from Jennie. I mean do we remember the whole lazy scandal that took two years for people to find out she suffered and injury and explained why she was dancing the way she was.
Rich can go both way. One, being that they're rich that they don't mind staying because they'll get to experience and get more from what they've been doing. But also it could mean that they don't care because they're rich and so can sign to a new company for better or more activities.

@@zizojaezekeom3565 i Don’t she is in demand she is getting millions to sign with other bigger companies and with the hate she is getting in s.k it is possible

I feel like YG might something like that which now the question might be whether she wanna stay for the girls
They will renew their contracts here’s is why I think they will - 1. They make a lot of money for YG and themselves 2. If their current schedule of comebacks continue they won’t have to work too much 3. They could release a song that’s 2 seconds long it would still chart and get like 3 Guineas records Here’s why I think they won’t 1. I feel like they are being overworked on tour and that makes me think that they might not renew so that this doesn’t happen again 2. All of them might want to go solo with another company (maybe even one under YG) because I feel like only Lisa is giving her 100% in the group while Jisoo, Rosé and Jennie are giving around 60%-80% 3. I feel like before the Born Pink era they were severely underworked and I feel like they maybe lost a few years of their career and promotion comparing them to other groups that debuted during that time they had a lot more comebacks then Blackpink
Great points for sure. I feel like the clout they have on them aint going anywhere so we could really see them make money elsewhere too. There current schedules aint usually that bad so not sure whether they like the whole comeback system. But in terms of tour, maybe their kinda rushed? Because it always starts rusty and takes time for them to get into the groove.
