Fun Fact: Jennie actually has 9 ankle injuries, doctors have mentioned that people with this type of injury cant even jump properly, besides we all saw Jennie walk on walking sticks several times. Oh! if u didn't know Jennie also has breathing problems as well as more mental and physical health issues, she and the members have talked about how she has a weak body. The hate started when Jennie out danced Lisa ( the main dancer) in ONE performance so she started getting hate and was called an attention seeker, so she stopped putting to much effort in the 0t4 dances cause she doesn't want to outshine anyone in 2018 but she danced amazingly in her solo so she was called lazy and a pick me. but people believed that she is lazy cause of one rehearsal when she wasn't dancing energetically EVEN THO IT WAS LITERALY A REHEARSAL AND ALL MEMBERS DIDN'T PUT ENERGY she was the one hated. The thing is when u realize it was never Jennie's fault
What I did notice in this video, is that Jennie is naturally a graceful dancer, that’s where she shines, so it makes since that she instinctively is trying join the movements together with more fluidity rather than with impact, strength, speed and tension.
yea it seems that strong hits can sometimes be hard for her, which makes sense bc of her injury. i rlly wanna see her do more smooth and chill dances tbh cuz my favorite of her dancing was wasted
Yes , she’s graceful her dancing looks effortless and calm , where as rose looks like an animated hair or snake , in the way that she’s extremely fluid , jisoo’s is strong , her movements and lines are clean and specific without much change , lisa is literally everything , all round
agreed, its like her dance has powerful part and soft part that contracts them, both powerful and soft parts are done with great muscle controls, and never looks like shes throwing her arms and legs around, which makes it masterpiece
Just wanted to point a few things out as a long time k-pop fan. Jennie's dance style since debut till now, removing her ankle injury performances, has always been the typical YG dance style. You can see this in Big Bang and 2NE1, even Winner and iKon performances where they don't do the dance 100% or at all. More focused on performance, vocal/rap delivery, hyping up the crowd etc. YG has never been a dance company, that is SM. You can even see this in Jennie's Coachella performance and even recent Pink Venom or Shut Down performance where is she more focused on the rap than doing the dance exactly as seen in practice videos. The funny thing is that this also occurs with other big artists like BTS, EXO, Red Velvet etc especially during concerts. Another thing is, it is so easy to go on youtube and search "so so k-pop group" mistakes on stage and can also see other artists "marking" the dance, forgetting dance moves, etc on music shows to concerts. This also applies to western artists. IDK the hate train this girl gets makes no sense to me
@@kpopwold6448 oh ok2, I really thought it's JYP 😭😭😭, well, no doubt to SM tho but they are also the home of vocals, my first bias comes from their company hihihi.
Finally, someone who can legitimately dance recognizing Jennie’s dance talent. Her style exudes charisma during their performances. Haters are just gonna hate, as if they can dance after repeated ankle injuries
I mean she does not deserve all the hate the people who hate her are delusional but I sprained and broke my foot but I could still dance it’s not that hard (for me tho but idk)
@@Hyunjinswife11 then you’re one of the lucky ones. Many dancers have permanent injuries which will always affect their dancing skills and it seems that the same thing goes to Jennie. Some days it’s better, some days it’s worse. Nayeon for example also has problems with her left leg after a car accident in which she was involved when she was young and has similar problems like Jennie: on some days she dances better than on other days. Onces and the general public aren’t as harsh to her compared to blinks, solo stans and antis.
I got an ankle injury while playing basketball and landing badly on my left foot. This was 4 years ago and my ankle still remembers it from time to time, it's kind of like muscle memory.
JENNIE moves like water, it's so satisfying to watch. She has soooo much grace and fluidity! Might actually be my favorite dancer in Blackpink, no lie.
Jennie is really a great dancer when they debuted she’s honestly was one of the best dancer i have ever seen in kpop Jennie charisma & aura will never disappoints Her injury & panic attack ( anxiety ) really took a hit on her but she’s still one of the best performers on stage And her solo dance covers are my favorite i hope she uploads more of them on her RUclips channel
Jennie's style has always been my favourite. She's so graceful and knows how to reserve her energy considering that she's still singing, wrapping, and hyping up the crowd. She was actually the reason why I became a blink. :)
Yup! After her first injury, it became her habitual injury to the same ankle. She was on crutches for awhile before promoting How You Like That! And also she was injured filming The Idol this year, but she never mentioned about the injury, just didn’t want us to worry about her. She has been doing her best to give us the best performance. I’m totally in awe of her! She really deserves our love! 🖤Jennie💖! 💗 Btw, I really do appreciate & thx for your reaction! 👍🏻👏🏻💕
You have no idea how happy I am that someone decided to take the "lazy jennie" scandal from a professional point of view with actual facts and not just useless hate. Jennie has always been an inspiration and her dancing always had such depth into it it felt like it was speaking to me. So what if in some performances she didn’t “perfectly” dance? She’s human and each one of us have a unique amount of energy, stamina, yes even K-Pop idols get tired welcome to reality. You guys absolutely nailed this analysis, after seeing so much hate dragging her down for years on end, it’s so refreshing to appreciate her improvement, truly thank you from the bottom of my heart💛 Also gotta love those memes, had me burst of laughter multiple times😂
BREAK YOUR ANKLES NINE TIMES AND TRY WALKING LET ALONE DANCING. I am just so proud of her performing while taking painkillers and remember when Jennie's fully healthy nobody can match her stage presence and charisma!
That was years ago though, and many of their performances don't require much strenth in the ankles. I don't think they addressed the right points of this video, in some performances, Jennie gives us nothing, but in others, she gives us everything. Jennie gives her all, sometimes, I wouldn't say she'll need to be the best on stage at all times, but she could at least try to complete the choreography.
@@sumysim3245 They USED to have REALLY HARD choreos. They can't do that as a group anymore because of Jennies ankles and other health problems. It's THAT BAD. Did you not hear the full story about her ankles? Dancers don't come back from that. It's a wonder that she is up and doing as much as she does now. She can still sing, she can still rap, she can still write, I just would never expect or ask her to dance any sort of thing like their old choreos.
@@sumysim3245 nope, watch the light up the sky then you will understand her situation.. also if you watch their live at coachella, where rosè told jennie to 'breathe' because she was having trouble breathing while they were performing at coachella
Jennie isn't lazy, she just reduces movement in parts her legs when she was experiencing incident during concerts, but she always looks perfect during dance practice.
Thanks for appreciating JENNIE She is kind and hard working girl She doesn't deserve any kind of hate or trash words She really is a good dancer, great rapper and singer
Really like the way Jennie moves. Soft, graceful yet groovy. Also, I appreciate the fact you pointed out that Jennie allows others to shine. I think this is so overlooked especially with the hate she's getting online.
12:58 I love how you guys noticed this as well. I dance and occasionally I do ballet, broadway, cabaret, musical theatre, and we get taught to let the main dancer shine. I noticed that Jennie does this too, when it’s not her part she steps back a bit and put the spotlight on her member. I don’t know much about how kpop does things but Jennie has my respect for supporting the other girls when it’s their part
I've seen a lot of comments saying that Jennie only has the best stage presence when she's center but that's how it's supposed to be you're supposed to let the other members shine when it's their part
Jennie just needs consistency, she's actually a great dancer and performer, she also effortlessly executes moves so satisfyingly well that it's hard to recreate, it's soft, graceful and sharp at the same time along with her expressions which top it. For reference her DDU DU DDU DU fancam w/ blue corset and Gayodaejun 2018 SOLO fancam which best represent it.
The perfect example of Jennie being inconsistent (after injury) is their "shut down" performance on Jimmy Kimmel ( in dancing), and their MTV performance (In energy, looking completely irritated). Now, compare this to the dance practice for 'Shut Down' and 'Pink Venom', she definitely looks and feels different. I do think that maybe it has to do with her mood (at times.)
@@Daniel-lc4qr yeah I know, I was just listing a fancam that best describes my favorite thing about her dancing, I literally have it engraved into my mind
@@sumysim3245 I applaud her for even performing amidst the whole photo leaking issue n death threats going on. I cld tell her mind was off when she was performing at the VMAs. She did well n pulled through nonetheless!
@@sumysim3245 I don't disagree, but every member of Blackpink was toned down for that performance, even dance machine Lisa, so I don't really get why the focus is completely on Jennie's dancing, it's weirdly selective imo
Jennie's actlly an amazing dancer, she even was the one who thaught rosé how to dance first and she's a super talented dancer, but as she wasnt put in the dance line (cuz it would be too INCREDIBLE can u imagine rap+vocal+dance wohoo) so she doesnt rlly show off her dancing but when she WANTS or HAS to she CAN. I love her some much, she's an ACE indeed.
Yeji, Hyunbin, CL, Chaeyeon, and Yena have been in all lines. Yeji as the Leader, Main dancer, lead rapper, lead vocal Hyunbin as Main Dancer, Main Rapper, and Lead Vocal CL as Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Vocal, Lead Dancer Yena as the same Chaeyeon as the same as Yeji - Leader YG definitely could have put her in dance line. The argument that those idols are from groups with more members doesn't work because 2NE1 also had 4 members. Plus she wasn't originally a Lead Vocal until Playing With Fire so she could have easily been debuted as a Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Vocalist
@@mochiyeosang1908 yes ofc and i LOVE it but yg did jennie dirty tho :/ she's already getting enough hate for the "yg princesse" thing then can u imagine how much more hate she would get if they did. But like bruh its not abt favoritism or smthg its just tht shes too good to be true so what can those do abt it lol. Anyways we all knw that shes an all rounder and a super talented queen , she doesnt need A TITLE to prooove it. Period
@@mochiyeosang1908 also it seemed like they wanted to focus on her vocals (which are heavenly good tho) but bro why waist such a dance talent.. i hate yg for that.
@@jenlover1235 Well, if Jennie had all of those positions, it wouldn't be fair to any of the other members. Rose and Lisa are good dancers, while Jennie is average and Jisoo is slightly under-average. Jennie is really the glue of the dancing side of BP, if they only had the other members, it would stand out a lot, but Jennie really balances the dance line. I wouldn't say she shouldn't be on the dance line since Rose and Lisa are better by far, but you have to admit that she can hold her own, I just wish she would give us more in her performances though.
@@sumysim3245 actlly, its just that blinks feel that way which is too bad :/ there are lots of idols who have multiple positions in the group (yeji for ex: leader, main dancer, lead voc and sub rapper) and ofc we dont find it unfair, she basically gets what she deserves (u cant blame smn for being too good lol) beside lisa and rose's dance style I rlly personnaly LOVE jennie's way of dancing its SO unique, also we should alwys take in consideration jennie's injury, she hasnt recovered for 100% yet but even tho she still slays every perf. (M saying this not bcz shes my bias but as a kpop and dancing lover).
i love jennie's dance the most in bp. Due to her leg injury sometime she does't go that much hard which is understandable. I Love my hardworking queen ♥️♥️
I definitely love the Jennie appreciation, cos she is a talented performer and her charisma is unbounding, so it's really great to see you guys reacting to her dance and bigging her up - as she deserves. People are so quick to criticise idol performers and whilst yes, it is their job and they should do it well, they aren't robots and they aren't always gonna be perfect, and that's not a bad thing at all. It's a human thing. It feels a little weird, though, that you bring up the "lazy" thing and then basically don't address it? A lot of that controversy was around stage performances that she did where she wasn't giving as much effort at times, for whatever reason, however valid. I would have really enjoyed seeing you talk about the strain of performing (singing and dancing and acting on stage is a professional sport), why she might have "dropped the ball" sometimes and why that's okay because she's human - or something like that. The fact that we didn't see any direct mention of it feels counterintuitive to how the video was set up? Even if it was just one clip amongst her other very impressive works off stage and in dance practices. But I would also understand if that didn't happen because Steezy peeps want to focus on the dance itself and not on the overall idol aspect, cos that's what you guys do! Nonetheless, really really enjoyed this video - loved seeing Isabel's perspective and personality here, love her to bits, and Clay is a delight as always. Much love!
Dude you seem the biggest fan of her 💀, like I'm also a big one specially of her rap and she herself, but you are just an awesome fan man I think I got some inspiration 🌻🌻 like that was a good appreciation 👍🏻👍🏻💗💗
Feels the same. Wanted to see at least one performance stage from the controversy and see some comments on it. Like if it was just lack of energy, or her ankle was hurting, so she can't do the dance well couldn't find a way to over compensate, etc. bc all the clips were basically the ones carefully prepared and edited by yg so we would only see jennie's dancing at her peak energy
i dont think they did enough research on the controversy and heard "lazy" and thought "oh like she's a bad dancer or smth" because if we talk abt her dance in gen, she's obviously rlly good. but in the context of the controversy, it's just diff. they probably just used the term for clickbait or just didn't want the hate train if they do address the actual controversy. just my opinion 🤷♀️
When Isabel said that she noticed that Jennie has a turn on and off like when she dances in her part and while it's not her part, I suddenly remembered what the haters said about that. I remember seeing one saying that whenever it's her turn, she's full of energy and giving her all but when it's not her part, she's like standing there and not giving much energy. And I was like, huh? I mean, I agreed with what you said that she's blending in when it's not her part.
JENNIE, by her own admission, has weak ankles and is constantly getting injured. Injured ankle means not being able to perform your best, so people began calling her lazy. Check out this clip explaining some of the times she's been injured. - *The Truth Behind Jennie Kim Lazy Scandal by Jennie Red*
I personally love Jennie’s dancing style it’s naturally graceful and sexy she just make the dance look easy like in a smooth way? I hope you understand what I said 😅
Of course this has to do with preferences, but for me I appreciate a performer more than a dancer which Jennie is. Jennie will always focus on live performance of rap and vocals before dancing because she takes music seriously. She delivers in dance when it’s the right time, she is never lacking and 5 sec clips from 2 hour concert wouldn’t make her any less of a dancer.
louderrrrrrrrrr, Jeennie is a idol not a dancer. she balance her vocal, charisma, dance and her visual as she is a kpop idol and visual is important in stage.
That's what I've always wanted to say she focuses on dance when it's the right time otherwise she's always trying to deliver vocals and rap perfectly she goes real hard on the dance breaks and outdances her members
Jennie is such an ACE that she can do it all and that's why kpoppies are jealous of her. Dancing, vocals, rap. stage presence, charisma, swag name it, she's got it. On top of it she is so freaking smart and talented that she wins most of all quiz, events and contest. All brands want her. I remember long ago Sprite wanted just Jennie for their commercial but YG insist for the whole BP group to be in it. Same shit for Adidas. Guess what happened when their contract ended with YG? Jennie is now the sole ambassador of Adidas. Literally a QUEEN and GLOBAL IT GIRL.
-She's been injured (her ankle) since her fall in the Japan concert plus the constant hate during the 2018-19 by kpop fandoms made her mental health deteriorate which she mentioned in the recent Rolling Stone magazine. Either way she's not the main dancer but she still dances better than most and is a solid vocalist & rapper and that's enough.
thank u so much for doing this video, i think sometimes people forget that kpop idols are also human beings trying to enjoy what they do, not just doing it as a machine. i am really thankful to u guys!! u rock!!
As a K-pop stan and one of them including blackpink ( biases are Jennie and Rosé) the main point behind of the lazy dancer accusations was around d-4 and solo era because on one of the tour dates as she was walking down stairs her footing was off and sprained her left ankle and in the hylt dance performance if you pay close enough attention she does have a wrap on that ankle so with that mentioned she probably went through a lot of rehabilitation for her ankle as she’s hurt it a lot so she wasn’t performing as she usually does which is where it started from
Jennie had a handful of performances where she was less energetic due to a major ankle injury and back to back illnesses, and still delivered on a majority of her performances despite her jam packed schedule of events, promotion and brand deal sponsoring and people still had the nerve to call her lazy ....
I like how this series isn't about trying to tear anyone down but really attempt to analyze what's going on in a dancer's movement. The tidbits about watching the inactive arm and how a dancer needs to compensate for injuries were fascinating. Great stuff!
Jennie is my best dancer in K-pop I Love her facial expressions that she does while she is dancing She is so hot , of course lisa is the dancing machine but Jennie dancing style is my favourite forever
Jennie can dance it just happen that when they perform during live shows she can easily lose her stamina. She said her stamina is not strong which is why she always takes good care of herself. She is concerned more about her health. And during the lazy issue, no one knows that she was actually injured.
Jennie's ankle injury goes back to when she was a kid. When she bacame a trainee, and while pre recording for whistle debut, she injured herself again, the same ankle Years later in a concert, she fell down the staris on stage, same ankle. For how you like that, she was once again injured. If you pay attention u can see she has a compression thingy on her ankle. In all thar time, they did not give her ankle time to heal properly and thus it's injury is a recurring problem. The thing abuot jennie and how she dances is that she has such sensuality and charisma, that allows her to move without trying to hard. It is amazing to watch her move
I'm not a blink anymore. But Jennie is the member I still look the group for and I feel sad when she gets so much hate for seriously breathing at thus point. She isn't perfect but she is way better then all those people who don't know shit and judge her as if they are perfect dancers.
Calling her underperforming is really ridiculous. Just because she has different style of performing than others. She tends to focus more on raps and vocal during her parts. That's why she did more free style during her part. That is plausible. She is famous for slaying vocal, rap and facial expression. That didn't mean she's a lazy dancer. I really do appreciate this kind of videos.
although ur right there's loads of other idols that can multi task and do the same and bp members included. I don't Stan but I like watching jennie the most but I won't lie and say she picks and chooses when to be a performer.
Jennie has a style to her…. And maybe that style looks lazy to a lot of people, but to me that’s what makes her stand out in a good way. Her dance moves give off her vibe and not a lazy vibe
Thank god!! Someone spokeup for her side She doesn't deserve people underating her skills like that.. Only because they have some personal issues with her She deserves to be treated equal as much as fair atleast for her talents....💜💜💜
I feel like 1-2 live performances from the era were she was criticized the most would've been nice. She's a talented dancer and dance practices will always be of idols performing at their best. I thought the amount of criticism she got was unwarranted, idols are often performing while overly fatigued and dealing with injuries, and who knows what other stress they're under behind the scenes. But it still would've been nice to hear some thoughts from professional dancers on a worse performance, ofc with the understanding that idols are allowed to not always perform at 100%. At the same time, I understand maybe wanting to avoid fans reacting defensively to criticism given the hate their idols already receive. maybe there will be a part 2? or you could do a video about idols performing in substandard conditions (weather, injury, fatigue) generally so its not targeted towards jennie. Having professional reaction to those issues not within a dancer's control would be interesting as well.
People shouldn't have been hating her because of that performance to begin with. YG made her perform while she was suffering from a serious ankle injury. Other companies let's them sit out but I guess a 4 member group won't look as nice if a member is missing
@@ninisimlie yeah but the rumors weren’t about her ability…just her attitude. So it would’ve been nice if they could’ve debunked that side of it since it’s literally the reason they made this video. Hope that makes sense.
I actually didn't think Jennie was a lazy dancer. I think people confuse (for lack of a better word) swaggy with laziness. It's just a style of dancing that I'm pretty sure people who aren't familiar with dance don't know of. That swag is what YG is all about. YG is known to be the "hip hop" company so bashing the choreography is really uncalled for. The fans should already know or realize that YG isn't the company to make the typical, cute-looking girl group (however that looks like). I appreciate how she has that on and off switch to give the rest of her members that spotlight/focus. I didn't know about the ankle injury but it makes sense that she has been overcompensating that side for a few years. I love to see she has been improving her dancing because I've noticed that loose arm and it always bothered me lol
Thats not what the lazy was referring to. She was filmed at soundchecks not doing choreo full out. 1, its a soundcheck, literally just practice for the concert to conserve energy. 2, she had broken ankle.
@@mochiyeosang1908 it was not about that either... Maybe a little bit, but the real deal was how she was literally just standing at times, not doing the choreo, and other times she moved only a bit (it was boombayah I think?). It was during a concert, not a soundcheck. And there was another video, also during a performance (as if it's your last), but it was not a concert, where she didn't move. I don't have links, but you can probably easily find them.
*JENNIE TRIES HER BEST EVEN AFTER ALL THESE INJURIES AND CRITICISM !! WE LOVE YOU JENNIE, NO ONE CAN HAVE A STAGE PRESENCE LIKE YOU AND YOU ATE EVERY PERFORMANCE!! I DON'T THINK ANYONE CAN HAVE AN ENERGY LIKE YOU AFTER THOSE INJURIES!! ACE OF BLACKPINK JENNIE KIM !! THIS IS A SLAP TO THE HATERS !!*
Ppl complaining about her dancing are obviously very ignorant of dancing. The "lazy" dancing is actually a huge style amongst hip hop dancers, where u look like ur putting no effort yet still being very clean and hitting the beats very strongly.
I feel like people really need to give Kpop idols more grace. We never know what they’re really going through, how much they have to do, their bodies’ conditions etc. We just see a little bit of their life. I really wish people would make generous assumptions instead of thinking the worst every time.
Jennie reminds me of Jessica. Both had strong starts in their career dance wise and were cited for it but, as their groups gained popularity, both gained a more laid back, cool diva image (deserved or not) which, coupled with their poor stamina, led to them chosing this very smooth way to dance. They still have the skill of course but for stamina management purposes they probably realized it was more fruitful not to go full out as, when they do, they run out of energy terribly by the 2nd/3rd third of the song.
So even though we didn’t watch any of the controversial stage performances, I’m happy that you noticed the overcompensation in her shoulder and opened the conversation about the ramifications of ankle injuries at least a little because it addresses pretty much all that needs to be said about that portion of the argument. People bring up the injuries so they can say “that was her excuse then but what’s her excuse now” but the fact is there are lasting physical repercussions to injuries - _especially_ by time you hit your mid-20s. She was fully braced, using crutches at the time of both sprains. She still bandages up and often goes from the heels she’ll wear in a pre-recorded intro to sneakers so I imagine she still gets flair ups. She’s already attempting to compensate how she moves her body with it’s current mobility and except for viewing the performances close to the injuries themselves, very few people notice. I got an ankle sprain on a hike 2 years ago when I stepped between some grown cover that wasn’t as shallow as I assumed. I made it down the hill fine without assistance and I only had to wear a small stability brace for about 2 weeks before I could put full pressure on the foot without it. All in all, it could have been a far worse injury (and it would have been if I wasn’t wearing supportive boots) but it was still an injury and that ankle _still_ isn’t the same. I don’t have the same level of flexibility or mobility in my ankle, I can’t squat as heavy at the gym, I can’t squat as _deep_ anymore, I can’t hold certain positions in yoga anymore, and I have to move through hikes so much slower because even with hiking boots with great ankle support, the uneven ground and the reduced mobility really don’t mix and can make treks unnecessarily painful if I push it too much.
The most recent performance that’s dragged this topic out of the woodwork again has less to do with her being lazy and more to do with her legitimately not having the energy. During the early career performances that made people start accusing her, she would pointedly push as much energy as she could into her center parts and then reserve energy when she was positioned at the back. During the recent performance people are talking about, she had a few steps that she seemed to visibly struggling with but was pushing through and her “lazy” moment was actually during her center rap verse where she diverged from the choreography (which she does often just to spice things up) but more than that delivered her verse with noticeably lower energy than she’s _ever_ done on stage. With such a wealth of context from her previous “lazy” performances and her disclosure of severe injuries, it’s so unfair to dunk on that performance as another lazy-Jennie thing when it’s doesn’t even fit the pattern. I don’t know how people that seem to be watching her every move so closely would come to any conclusion other than “something was going on with her”. Could be her generally low stamina and poor health rearing it’s head, could have been true exhaustion, could be general overwhelm from the intense amount of hate she’d been getting since the dating scandal revved up to a 10 right after Shut Down dropped. It’s like, Jennie is a good dancers and she loves performing. She doesn’t choose to do nothing when she’s capable of doing _something_ even if that something isn’t the best we’ve seen from her ( which is kind of what got her in trouble in the first place since she chose to perform and camouflage when she probably should have opted to sit). I don’t know why I still after like 12 years of stanning feel the need to come to the defense of idols this strongly but I just hate the tendency so many people have to not grant any leniency or allow perspective to inform them before sending some of the most vile things they can think of to someone
It makes me so sad to see her get hate for being a "lazy dancer" when she used to get hate for being an "overachieving dancer" in the earlier days. Like what do people want from her?? And she DID have an ankle injury which can totally affect your performance sometimes. People don't understand that those kinds of injuries never fully go away, I sprained my ankle doing taekwondo when I was 13 and I'm 25 now and that ankle is still much weaker than my other one.. It's frustrating how people still bring up that controversy to drag her when it happened in like 2018??
I don't know much about kpop. (Even a Bts song..) But a few years ago youtube recommended me SOLO and I'm in love with that song then I started listening to Blackpink and fell in love with them too. But my eyes are always looking for Jennie, I can watch her all day.She has a star light.
Stop calling Jennie a lazy dancer for clout she broke the same ankle 9 times and it’s her own fandom who made that so called lazy video against her out of jealousy in 2018 but people are still obsessed and can’t let go Also Jennie is not in the dance line and doesn’t need to dance perfect to satisfy anyone no wonder blackpink is disbanding next year. She will be free from obsessed freaks and batshittt crazy fandom and shittty company
Jennie is the most versatile and all- round KPOP artist out there. Other KPOP has 1-2 characteristics/special talent, but Jennie has like 4-5 special talents. And many people cannot accept the fact that she is at the very top.
@Nanma Ann Anil so u asked abt her talents then u lied abt her and saying No hate lmao Show me ur talents! u can even write a half line She’s the ace of Blackpink just leave jennie alone and don’t talk abt her specially her bc we know her effect and u think that's an exaggeration i don't blame u HAHAH
Usually people tend to focus on Lisa when it’s about dance skills and honestly i understand but people need to start appreciating other members dancing. The way people call Jennie ”lazy” just shows how there’s so many people who don’t know anything. I still remember when Jennie danced with power and grace and she got hate because she was trying to "outshine" the other members but when she doesn’t dance as usual then it’s a problem for people and they call her "lazy". Haters just try to find reasons to hate her because they don’t like her so they don’t hesitate to critisize her dancing (the majority knowing that she injured her ankle multiple times and some not even considering the fact that it might be the reason she SOMETIMES dances weakly). Honestly, it’s just sad the way people focus more on videos where Jennie doesn’t seem to dance with energy instead of the MANY MANY videos where she dances with powerful moves and energy. It’s just sad the way they try to "promote" this "lazy" image on Jennie.
thanks for praising jennie and reacting to her❤ facts you might have missed:- she did have an ankle injury at the start of their debut but it was just a minor injury until in their concert in japan she fell off the stairs in front of the whole audience of fans and since then she couldn’t walk or even dance. while people were forcing her and bringing scandals out calling her “lazy” jennie did her best to maintain the pain and instead of resting to not make it worse she did actually dance to every song until the end of their tour (let’s not forget she released her SOLO song during this tour and had to promote it so she must have gave her all to perform it). this scandal followed her until later after their tour yg stated that jennie in fact was suffering from ankle injury and went through several surgeries to get it fixed. she started to use crutches for months, and now she can walk again without it. but that ‘lazy’ term still follows her to this day as anti-fans and haters of her use it to describe her performance without understanding her style in dancing is different than the rest. you did point it out she mostly has a resting face until she is in center/focus to let the other members have their shining moments. she has a great stage presence and her facial expressions are always on point. but she did improve a lot since debut, and in their recent interview Lisa (who is main dancer and known to be one of the best dancers in kpop) said that jennie learns new dance steps pretty fast and she is catching up with her quickly which is very fascinating.
Jennie has been said to be a lazy dancer before, it was before we knew that she had very fragile ankles (don't have the real name of the "condition"). I didn't see anything talking about it ever since.
when you said that she can blend to give others the focus in their parts, i remembered that in the rookie days, she would get hate for "outshine" the others members
I think Jennie is a great dancer. She is naturally very graceful and her stage presence is unmatched. What I want to add is when you’re doing a cover of BLACKPINK, she can sometimes underdance (not all the time, but sometimes), but it never affects the dance overall, because she is naturally good and also extremely charismatic. Her dance style is very YG. YG artists tend to underdance and just enjoy the music and performance and Jennie is exactly this. The lazy controversy wasn’t about her dancing overall (she is overall not a lazy dancer), it was about particular performances. I have no idea what happened there, but taking into consideration that this girl got hate from even pre-debut and still is getting hate to this day, it may have been connected to her mental health. It may also be the effect of a damaged ankle. To sum up, Jennie is a great dancer and even greater (and it’s more important imo) performer. The girl knows how to put a show.
SAME SCENARIO WITH LISA WHEN IT COMES TO SINGING. JENNIE IS A PACKAGE DEAL, HATERS DIDN'T SEE REAL TALENT. JENNIE IS VERY GOOD IN DANCING SINCE THEN BUT THE HATERS SAID SHE'S LAZY LOL. SHE'S REALLY GRACEFUL LISA IS GOOD IN SINGING BUT THE HATERS SAID SHE CAN'T SING. SHE'S UNIQUE FOR ME
I appreciate how she relaxes and sings these days. I think ppl should differentiate between Jennie having felt smth abt her body that has to make her stop and Jennie feeling her own pace. Calling her lazy actually is lazy.
i love jennie, and i actually learned the BBHMM dance from blackpink. it always annoys me when people call her lazy; she not only had an ankle injury, but she also (if i remember correctly) has breath support issues and physically can't always go full-out like people want her to. she's an incredible dancer, and she doesn't deserve the hate that she gets
Jennie's not lazy, the problem people have with her is that she marks in some live concerts (which you guys didn't review any footage of) but i think for a giant ass world tour, it's totally understandable for her to not go full out for every single concert & performance. She's already admitted to being weaker & losing breath easier. She knows she's marking. It's a choice to ensure longevity.
I think what this video doesn't consider is the fact that most of the criticism comes from her live performances and stages on tour. Shes is an incredibly talented dancer, you can't deny it, but she picks and chooses which stages to give her energy too and it can be incredibly disappointing for fans to pay money to see her talent just for her not to show it
people are so quick to say "no excuses, she is an idol, therefore, she can't be lazy on stage." when the reality is, performing on stage and delivering a great performance require so many factors. Confidence, skills, energy, body fitness, clear mind. Jennie has mentioned that she has a shorter breath compared to the other girls, she has a problem with her ankle/leg, she also has suffered from anxiety (panic attack & anxiety on stage, difficulty to breathe), not to mention that she received sooooo many hate ever since debut, peaked with her dating news "scandal", people literally sending death threats to her everyday. So imagine you as this top star kpop idol, people calling you names, sooo many pressure on you, and you also have a limited physical ability, and still have to go to 9 months long back to back world tour all around the world, barely having any time to heal and regain strength. Idol life is hard, many cases of Kpop Idol faint on stage. Because to be an Idol, it takes so fucking much. Some people are so lucky to fit everything (Lisa, Hoshi, Momo, etc) bc they were born with more energy and maybe other factors that we don't really know. But it is hard, and there is just no way Jennie wants to be lazy on purpose. Give her a break.
Ik its an old video but i didnt see any other comments and i figure maybe its worth a shot if someone sees. Jennies ankle was injured during the filming for the beginning part of their debut stage for whistle with no audience. She fell down the prop stairs and was sent immediately to the hospital. She wasnt supposed to perform their debut shows bc of it, but did so anyways while on a bunch of pain meds. Throughout the years you can find pictures here and there where her ankle has a brace. Once where shes using crutches. It was mentioned she was in a wheelchair at one point as well. Even in the how you like that dance practice you can see the top of the brace shes using on her left ankle. Jennie also has pretty bad motion sickness. Its bad enough its caused her to literally lose consciousness before. During the pretty savage thats probably why her arm is awkward like that. Shes trying to keep her balance and not throw her body in a way that will cause her to be too ill, therefore not focusing on that arm. That and it takes a lot of balance to do that hair move and shes trying not to strain her ankle as well. As someone with the same ankle injury on the same foot it takes a lot of concentration daily to do a lot of things and keep your ankle from giving out. Just walking normally my ankle will give out and im in pain for days. If i fall for any reason often my ankle will get strained and ill be in a boot or on crutches. People hate on her and bully her for 'being lazy' and the fact that its been so long since the injury it should be fine when no. Itll never heal. Ankle and foot injuries just do not heal ever. You have to learn to manage. I also have motion sickness and vertigo, and if i had to do a move like in ps my entire body would feel like its swaying and almost vibrating and id feel nauseous. Props to her for being amazing at her job and i hope she continues to be happy.
people called ber lazy cos there was a period of time where she was actually slacking on stage and not even keeping up with her members. It is not because of her usual dancing style. at that time, many things could have happened in her personal life so who knows

So true!!
@@steezystudio so how would u rate her from 10?
G DRAGON THE KING ,,,
Jennie dancing style is my favorite. Her moves are so fine
mine too
Can easily snatch the lead dancer position tho
Same
agreed, its like her dance has powerful part and soft part that contracts them, both powerful and soft parts are done with great muscle controls, and never looks like shes throwing her arms and legs around, which makes it masterpiece
She also seems to have the best musicality in bp
Jennie doesn’t deserve the hate, she does what she can and that’s all that matters!
Agreed!
No we love jennie

IDK the hate train this girl gets makes no sense to me
As of now still lazy dancers except for lisa even now in music show there's a fancam showcasing how lazy they are!
I totally agree with you. But I thought it's JYPE who is the dance company but anyway, what you said is very on point.
@@yevgenyalekhinelargo1662 nope it's sm
@@kpopwold6448 oh ok2, I really thought it's JYP 😭😭😭, well, no doubt to SM tho but they are also the home of vocals, my first bias comes from their company hihihi.
It’s all jealousy.
@@Hyunjinswife11 your lucky then mine is still rough af it's been 4 years already
@@jmrc_2130 dang that’s sad hope u get better
I got an ankle injury while playing basketball and landing badly on my left foot. This was 4 years ago and my ankle still remembers it from time to time, it's kind of like muscle memory.
Thank you for appreciating Jennie`s dance. She has been called a lazy dancer for years. She is so hardworking this was really needed.
She dances “lazy” bcuz when she use to go all out ppl would say she does to much and she takes the attention away from her members

Jennie is really a great dancer when they debuted she’s honestly was one of the best dancer i have ever seen in kpop
Jennie charisma & aura will never disappoints
Her injury & panic attack ( anxiety ) really took a hit on her but she’s still one of the best performers on stage
And her solo dance covers are my favorite i hope she uploads more of them on her RUclips channel
I wouldn’t say she’s one of the best performers because she still has a long way to go….
also for me she is one of the best 🖤🔥
@@melaniedalvarez she’s just not consistent. Which sucks, bc she has a lot of potential.
@@melaniedalvarez long way to go? girl, you will never achieve what jennie has achieved in her career that's for sure lol😂
@@rosalinalee8313 that’s very true and i blame yg for that
Jennie's style has always been my favourite. She's so graceful and knows how to reserve her energy considering that she's still singing, wrapping, and hyping up the crowd. She was actually the reason why I became a blink. :)
True 😍🇰🇷
She is actually such a great dancer, people are so mean at her.
You guys absolutely nailed this analysis, after seeing so much hate dragging her down for years on end, it’s so refreshing to appreciate her improvement, truly thank you from the bottom of my heart💛
Also gotta love those memes, had me burst of laughter multiple times😂
BREAK YOUR ANKLES NINE TIMES AND TRY WALKING LET ALONE DANCING.
I am just so proud of her performing while taking painkillers and remember when Jennie's fully healthy nobody can match her stage presence and charisma!
YES! :)
@@sumysim3245 nope, watch the light up the sky then you will understand her situation.. also if you watch their live at coachella, where rosè told jennie to 'breathe' because she was having trouble breathing while they were performing at coachella
she broke her ankle once? lol when did it happen nine times??and this shit started before ankle injuries
Jennie isn't lazy, she just reduces movement in parts her legs when she was experiencing incident during concerts, but she always looks perfect during dance practice.
Jennie and blackpink is who got me into K-Pop. She has even said in netflix documentary that she gets sick/hurt easily and often. Push through Queen.
Thanks for appreciating JENNIE
She is kind and hard working girl
She doesn't deserve any kind of hate or trash words
She really is a good dancer, great rapper and singer
Really like the way Jennie moves. Soft, graceful yet groovy. Also, I appreciate the fact you pointed out that Jennie allows others to shine. I think this is so overlooked especially with the hate she's getting online.
Jennie actually did have ankle injury. She twisted her ankle the worst way in a concert. There are footages on the internet
I've seen a lot of comments saying that Jennie only has the best stage presence when she's center but that's how it's supposed to be you're supposed to let the other members shine when it's their part
unlike lisa
Jennie just needs consistency, she's actually a great dancer and performer, she also effortlessly executes moves so satisfyingly well that it's hard to recreate, it's soft, graceful and sharp at the same time along with her expressions which top it. For reference her DDU DU DDU DU fancam w/ blue corset and Gayodaejun 2018 SOLO fancam which best represent it.
Umm sis. That’s when she was injured
Yeji as the Leader, Main dancer, lead rapper, lead vocal
Hyunbin as Main Dancer, Main Rapper, and Lead Vocal
CL as Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Vocal, Lead Dancer
Yena as the same
Chaeyeon as the same as Yeji - Leader
YG definitely could have put her in dance line.
Afaik the "lazy dance" wasnt a performance, it was a pre-performance practice mostly for blocking and stuff.
beautifully worded, this is exactly how i felt throughout the video
i dont think they did enough research on the controversy and heard "lazy" and thought "oh like she's a bad dancer or smth" because if we talk abt her dance in gen, she's obviously rlly good. but in the context of the controversy, it's just diff. they probably just used the term for clickbait or just didn't want the hate train if they do address the actual controversy. just my opinion 🤷♀️
Jennie is my favorite dancer. Her moves are so fine
Literally this video made me proud of my bias
She is a great dancer and is really flexible
I love Jennie
JENNIE, by her own admission, has weak ankles and is constantly getting injured. Injured ankle means not being able to perform your best, so people began calling her lazy. Check out this clip explaining some of the times she's been injured.
- *The Truth Behind Jennie Kim Lazy Scandal by Jennie Red*
Jennie is an amazing dancer
I personally love Jennie’s dancing style it’s naturally graceful and sexy
she just make the dance look easy like in a smooth way? I hope you understand what I said 😅
I'll say it again and again , Jennie will always be my Favorite dancer in Blackpink. I like the way she moves .
Jennie is so stylish in every way, she has style, she is style!
Jennie is my fave dancer in Blackpink, she has a natural swag that isn't trying hard. She is fluid and has amazing stage presence.
You're really good at noticing things..I've started to understanding Jennie's dance much better, thank you!🥰
-She's been injured (her ankle) since her fall in the Japan concert plus the constant hate during the 2018-19 by kpop fandoms made her mental health deteriorate which she mentioned in the recent Rolling Stone magazine.
Jennie is my best dancer in K-pop I Love her facial expressions that she does while she is dancing
She is so hot , of course lisa is the dancing machine but Jennie dancing style is my favourite forever
Jennie can dance it just happen that when they perform during live shows she can easily lose her stamina. She said her stamina is not strong which is why she always takes good care of herself. She is concerned more about her health. And during the lazy issue, no one knows that she was actually injured.
kpop stans will see an idol marking the dance for a tech practice before a concert and call them lazy 💀
Jennie didn’t lazy. Sometimes she get sick or don’t feel comfortable . I love Jennie ❤
Jennie's ankle injury goes back to when she was a kid.
When she bacame a trainee, and while pre recording for whistle debut, she injured herself again, the same ankle
Years later in a concert, she fell down the staris on stage, same ankle.
Jennie is my bias , ngl but .... I never know that she was such a good dancer
I am proud of her
You guys are really motivational teachers 🫶. I love Jennie’s graceful and powerful dancing. Are there recommendations of other dancers like that?
Tbh I love watching her dance the most in blackpink
Calling her underperforming is really ridiculous. Just because she has different style of performing than others. She tends to focus more on raps and vocal during her parts. That's why she did more free style during her part. That is plausible. She is famous for slaying vocal, rap and facial expression. That didn't mean she's a lazy dancer. I really do appreciate this kind of videos.
Good example: Gof of B2B in SWF Copy Mission
although ur right there's loads of other idols that can multi task and do the same and bp members included. I don't Stan but I like watching jennie the most but I won't lie and say she picks and chooses when to be a performer.
Jennie performs like the rappers of yg they don't give much energy in dancing rather keep energy for their raps and hyping the crowd
Fun fact about last dance video is she make that song famous and people started to cover that
Imagine if she didn't have an ankle injury, definitely she would owned the stage 🔥
Jennie has a style to her…. And maybe that style looks lazy to a lot of people, but to me that’s what makes her stand out in a good way. Her dance moves give off her vibe and not a lazy vibe
always love seeing videos apprecating Jennie, thank you
Jennie dancing is as beautiful as she is.
Thank god!! Someone spokeup for her side
She doesn't deserve people underating her skills like that..
Only because they have some personal issues with her
She deserves to be treated equal as much as fair atleast for her talents....💜💜💜
Thanks for reacting to Jennie.... She is an amazing idol 👏👏👏😍😍😍
the little bit of extra editting effects on this video are just *muah!* chef's kiss. Never have I laughed so hard that watching Jennie bootypop Mario
Having professional reaction to those issues not within a dancer's control would be interesting as well.
this! i feel like the video would have been a lot more effective if they talked about this
Yeah I was thinking this as well.
This would probably lead to more hate to Jennie, this was probably meant to clear up those rumors. I agree w you though 😊
@@mochiyeosang1908 also performances like shut down live. she didn't perform like she normally does so in some way ppl aren't lying? idk
@@nastya1297 you like walking on a broken ankle?

Only thing is that Jennie is a much better dancer than Jessica n has so much more potential. That is if u were referring to Jessica from SNSD.
Jennie had an ankle injury and was actually performing and haters were calling her a lazy dancer
Jennie is all rounders she got it's ✨
Jennie is a powerhouse. She has an ankle injury. Haters are stupid.
Appreciate it bro for doing this video of jennie. I really enjoyed the watching it.
I don't know much about kpop. (Even a Bts song..) But a few years ago youtube recommended me SOLO and I'm in love with that song then I started listening to Blackpink and fell in love with them too. But my eyes are always looking for Jennie, I can watch her all day.She has a star light.
Stop calling Jennie a lazy dancer for clout she broke the same ankle 9 times and it’s her own fandom who made that so called lazy video against her out of jealousy in 2018 but people are still obsessed and can’t let go
Also Jennie is not in the dance line and doesn’t need to dance perfect to satisfy anyone no wonder blackpink is disbanding next year. She will be free from obsessed freaks and batshittt crazy fandom and shittty company
Jennie is the most versatile and
all- round KPOP artist out there.
Other KPOP has 1-2 characteristics/special talent, but Jennie has like 4-5 special talents. And many people cannot accept the fact that she is at the very top.

She is an absolute class act❤❤
thanks for praising jennie and reacting to her❤
facts you might have missed:-
she did have an ankle injury at the start of their debut but it was just a minor injury until in their concert in japan she fell off the stairs in front of the whole audience of fans and since then she couldn’t walk or even dance.
while people were forcing her and bringing scandals out calling her “lazy” jennie did her best to maintain the pain and instead of resting to not make it worse she did actually dance to every song until the end of their tour (let’s not forget she released her SOLO song during this tour and had to promote it so she must have gave her all to perform it).
this scandal followed her until later after their tour yg stated that jennie in fact was suffering from ankle injury and went through several surgeries to get it fixed. she started to use crutches for months, and now she can walk again without it.
but that ‘lazy’ term still follows her to this day as anti-fans and haters of her use it to describe her performance without understanding her style in dancing is different than the rest.
you did point it out she mostly has a resting face until she is in center/focus to let the other members have their shining moments. she has a great stage presence and her facial expressions are always on point. but she did improve a lot since debut, and in their recent interview Lisa (who is main dancer and known to be one of the best dancers in kpop) said that jennie learns new dance steps pretty fast and she is catching up with her quickly which is very fascinating.
Jennie dance 🔥🔥🔥
Jennie has been said to be a lazy dancer before, it was before we knew that she had very fragile ankles (don't have the real name of the "condition"). I didn't see anything talking about it ever since.
when you said that she can blend to give others the focus in their parts, i remembered that in the rookie days, she would get hate for "outshine" the others members
So happy to see Isabel! She was a show stealer in SoNE1. I didn't know she was on Lizzo's show, but I'll be sure to watch it now!
She knows when to blend in and stand out the best in group
WOW
GIRLY'S GONNA GET A LEAD DANCE POSITION
JENNIE IS AN AMAZING DANCER GO GO GO GURL SLAY
I REALLY LIKE JEN'S STYLE
I love Jennie. Thanks for this!
She is really a fierce dancer and has a amazing stage presence 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
SAME SCENARIO WITH LISA WHEN IT COMES TO SINGING. JENNIE IS A PACKAGE DEAL, HATERS DIDN'T SEE REAL TALENT.
JENNIE IS VERY GOOD IN DANCING SINCE THEN BUT THE HATERS SAID SHE'S LAZY LOL. SHE'S REALLY GRACEFUL
LISA IS GOOD IN SINGING BUT THE HATERS SAID SHE CAN'T SING.
It’s like everyone forgets she sings and dances at the same time -
Jennie's not lazy, the problem people have with her is that she marks in some live concerts (which you guys didn't review any footage of) but i think for a giant ass world tour, it's totally understandable for her to not go full out for every single concert & performance. She's already admitted to being weaker & losing breath easier. She knows she's marking. It's a choice to ensure longevity.
I think what this video doesn't consider is the fact that most of the criticism comes from her live performances and stages on tour. Shes is an incredibly talented dancer, you can't deny it, but she picks and chooses which stages to give her energy too and it can be incredibly disappointing for fans to pay money to see her talent just for her not to show it
Thank you for reacting so kindly to Jennie, she is a greatly misunderstood and overly-hated person, neither of which she deserves.
people are so quick to say "no excuses, she is an idol, therefore, she can't be lazy on stage." when the reality is, performing on stage and delivering a great performance require so many factors.
I never understood the Jennie hate. She dances like GD, really good but laid back and I really enjoy that
people called ber lazy cos there was a period of time where she was actually slacking on stage and not even keeping up with her members. It is not because of her usual dancing style. at that time, many things could have happened in her personal life so who knows
