truly her dancing is so mesmerizing, smooth, and eye catching. she stuck out the most to me as someone who doesn't really do professional dance, just dancing in a studio for a couple of years, i think shes my favorite dancer of this gen. Her flexibility is the part that makes her dance the way it is she gives it her all and you can always tell
I think it's easy to mention Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna because they've had standout parts over the years, but let's also give props to Lia! To be able to elevate your dancing skills to a level that matches the rest of this group takes a lot of hours, hard work, and dedication. And her work ethic has really paid off! Aswell with what she has going on with anaemia it can be extremely hard to move around at a fast pace without feeling dizzy/tired (as someone who has anaemia.) When Ryujin was on Mixnine, she was considered one of the strongest, if not the strongest, female dancers in the show, and now she's generally considered third in this group. If that doesn't show how amazing they are, on baseline, then idk what could. It's completely fair to believe pretty much any of the members are the main dancer because they're just all so good.
In fact Ryujin is the second strongest dancer in ITZY. She is third (along with Yuna) in idol dancing, but in open style she is second best, not far behind Yeji, she is just behind Yeji because she has to learn to "use" the space more. Chaeryeong is considered one of the best dancers of the generation because she is very good at idol dancing, without a doubt she is one of the best in kpop at idol dancing.

Yuna's another solid dancer with her own flair & JYP PD-nim even praised her dancing too. I'm really glad you mentioned the whole group being synchronized🥲..Lia doesn't have a dance position as the main vocalist but MIDZYs can see she works very hard to keep up with what basically is the strongest dance line out of 4th gen ggs!

Given the other girls are all extremely good, of course. She has gotten a lot better over time tho, and is very admirable that she keeps up with some of the hardest choreos and next to arguably the best dance squad kpop girl groups have seen. But you can see she still lacks a lot of training in the basics of dancing. Lia is average at best.
Korean likes to divide the positions equally. Ryujin's position as the main rapper is more superior to being the main dancer so JYP omitted it. Sometimes there are people who get angry because she's not main dancer. Jyp couldnt give only one person positions. And this cant be proof of the disparagement of competence. Her dance skill has an appeal beyond that of the main dacer. And I think this is the charm of idol dance.

I've watched Cake so many times and never picked up on all the cake making elements 🤣 I definitely agree with the assessment on Ryujin. She keeps going from strength to strength. Her movements in the Born To Be era are next level (not taking away anything from the others who are also amazing)
....and that is also how Shin Ryujin got me hooked into Itzy. I was amazed by her moves and her facial expressions. She's a real performer. I def agree with these dancers, when its feminine moves, Chaer and Yeji stands out. Yeji is also consistently powerful. However, my dear Ryujin got that pop and dynamics. She knows her strength and really know how to play with it - she can go easy then go hard in a millisec. Soft and then hit hard again. I admire her so much for it. Thats why i never get bored even if i've watched her vids million times. Thank you for featuring itzy! They all have their own unique styles and together, they make the best girl group. Ryujin is one of a few female kpop dancers who actually could pop her body like that Altho in some choreo she didn't pay as much attention to details as Yeji, Chae, Yuna, but she's so good at what others couldn't do
JYP should establish Chaeryoung as the main dancer especially to non-Midzys. Putting her on the sidelines for the most part isn't doing her talent justice. We've established Ryujin and Yeji, a 30-sec dancebreaks for Chaer wouldn't hurt.
I prefer Chaeryeong's style and movements. Like you said, she's rarely in the spotlight. It would be satisfying to see. I think she is more versatile in dance; I can't see Ryujin doing something like Cry For Me choreo. However, she is an amazing performer.
Yeah, I can't blame them for not spotting the true main dancer because ITZY has always been a dance-focused group. I mean, that's the reason they became so famous in the first place. They were (and still are) one of the hardest hitting groups in terms of choreo. So picking out who's supposed to be the main is always going to be difficult unless you're already in the know.
itzy are the best gg dancers and performers by a LOT. their choreography is the most difficult of any gg and they always kill it AND they always sing live, which ggs with waaaay easier choreo don't even do. they're so underrated imo they should be the biggest gg in the world

Itzy always delivers in performance !! There are 4 members who specialized in dance, two main and 2 leads, as well as Lia who blends in and can keep up in a dance centered group, it's so easy to stick out like a sore thumb with their choreo and being alongside some of kpop's top dance lines
Can we just take a moment to praise their dance coach who took the time and effort to break down each movement and make sure they are all doing it exactly the same. Regardless of how good people are at dancing, not just the timing synchronization BUT also the sync of levels and identical body formations and angles takes hourssssssss to train for each song. Also add formations and transitions to that mix and weeks/months later this is the outcome!
reading the comments here gives me a headache. these dancers chose THEIR main dancer. whose opinion? True, she's more a vocalist who can dance than a dancing vocalist. It took her a bit to get there, but she's now able to hold her own. Go Lia!

@@oksanasanaok I mean... she is objectively a very weak dancer technique-wise. IDK about worst dancer in kpop but it is extremely noticeable that she is the worst of this group. Given the other girls are all extremely good, of course. She has gotten a lot better over time tho, and is very admirable that she keeps up with some of the hardest choreos and next to arguably the best dance squad kpop girl groups have seen. But you can see she still lacks a lot of training in the basics of dancing.
Lia is average at best.
Korean likes to divide the positions equally. Ryujin's position as the main rapper is more superior to being the main dancer so JYP omitted it. Sometimes there are people who get angry because she's not main dancer. Jyp couldnt give only one person positions. And this cant be proof of the disparagement of competence. Her dance skill has an appeal beyond that of the main dacer. And I think this is the charm of idol dance.

....and that is also how Shin Ryujin got me hooked into Itzy. I was amazed by her moves and her facial expressions. She's a real performer. I def agree with these dancers, when its feminine moves, Chaer and Yeji stands out. Yeji is also consistently powerful. However, my dear Ryujin got that pop and dynamics. She knows her strength and really know how to play with it - she can go easy then go hard in a millisec. Soft and then hit hard again. I admire her so much for it. Thats why i never get bored even if i've watched her vids million times. Thank you for featuring itzy! They all have their own unique styles and together, they make the best girl group. I'm so proud to be a midzy.

Yeah, I can't blame them for not spotting the true main dancer because ITZY has always been a dance-focused group. I mean, that's the reason they became so famous in the first place. They were (and still are) one of the hardest hitting groups in terms of choreo. So picking out who's supposed to be the main is always going to be difficult unless you're already in the know.
itzy are the best gg dancers and performers by a LOT. their choreography is the most difficult of any gg and they always kill it AND they always sing live, which ggs with waaaay easier choreo don't even do. they're so underrated imo they should be the biggest gg in the world

When I first saw itzy I too thought ryujin was the main dancer and it still puzzles me to this day why ryujin, chaeryoung and yeji all couldn’t be main dancer’s together especially since ryujin has literally been known for her dancing since before debute.

Itzy always delivers in performance !! There are 4 members who specialized in dance, two main and 2 leads, as well as Lia who blends in and can keep up in a dance centered group, it's so easy to stick out like a sore thumb with their choreo and being alongside some of kpop's top dance lines
Can we just take a moment to praise their dance coach who took the time and effort to break down each movement and make sure they are all doing it exactly the same. Regardless of how good people are at dancing, not just the timing synchronization BUT also the sync of levels and identical body formations and angles takes hourssssssss to train for each song. Also add formations and transitions to that mix and weeks/months later this is the outcome!
