This idea came from factory options on other cars. GT500 for example. For those critical of this option. Maybe try zip ties, glue, or hopes and dreams. Probably more your speed anyway…
I broke my bumper connection on the same exact spot as you when taking off my front bumper last year. Thought I just pulled it too hard, but I guess I'm not the only one who had issues! This makes me feel a little better lol.
Great video I messed up on the passenger side drilling off center but was able to use a file on the metal hole to adjust the bolt upwards and it looks perfect. Beware of the step down drilling it goes through very quickly that was my initial mistake
My first thought is . . . Nooooooo. That's going to tear off... But once I watched it all the way to the end . . . That's actually a really nice option. Much better looking than a self tapping modified truss head screw with a fender washer.
this is pretty crazy. This is the exact same bumper design in that area of my procharged cadillac cts. However, the bumper has no issues. It needs to come off enough that im looking into quick disconnects. thx for the video
Or you should've inserted a zip tie inside the bumper. Way better and cheaper than drilling holes in your bumper. I got both ends of the bumper on zip ties for about a year and they still holding up strong
Martin Acosta Me personally I wouldn’t trust a zip tie to keep my bumper on. They use similar quick releases for hoods as well. As long as you take your time no issues drilling. I drilled my own holes for my spoiler too. Beats paying for a new bumper if a tie snaps. Thanks for the comment though 👍
Great video and it's not a hard job at all just be very aware of the drilling on both sides I messed the passenger side up with the step-down drilling but was able to compenrsate on the inside bolt bracket by filing it so I could adjust the bolt. In the end it came out perfect.
Is it possible to just epoxy that big support that broke off the bumper and the little clip seam back to where it was originally attached (on the bumper, not the body) so you could have the bumper attached like it was originally?
I’m sure it is. I removed my front bumper often for work on the procharger. Might not be necessary for most. That being said it was rock solid at speeds well over 140.
Update: I roughed up the edge where it broke, wiped it down with some alcohol, taped it into place and then used JB weld plastic bond epoxy on just the inside of the bumper. It now holds up perfectly as the joint is very strong and rigid.
Hey friend a little tip take a rubber mallet a couple lighter smack on the pin towards top and boom your gap gone. Now I’m gonna go find that piece I decided to not reuse.
This makes sense for a race car or something that gets the bumper taken off a lot. Otherwise it looks like a rig job. I would rather super glue the thing from inside the fender well and look clean.
Hey brother, I can't find the parts online, not sure what to look for, could you shoot me a link to the screw and button? Great fix, tired of having this problem.
WEEEEE. I’m part of this club now!! I get to use this video for my quick latch install. Thanks for leaving all this great content up. Hope you get boosted again in the future. Love to revisit these vids. 🙏🏼 Your videos and car were my biggest inspiration. 🐌 💨 💨
Aw man this happened to me today! My poor car 😭 I backed into a bush thinking it wouldn’t do anything! But that sucker held on and pulled my bumper loose. It broke the clips off or something. I hope the shop can fix it without replacing it.
IamFreeSpirited Typically around 11psi but with good cool air I’ve seen 12psi. No clue on the updated hp/tq since I haven’t been back to the dyno. Getting ready to do a big upgrade though and I’m going to take it to the dyno then. If I had to guess probably 450-470 to the wheels now. Made 409 on 8 psi on the dyno.
I didn’t want a clip on my bumper I simply went to a local body shop and had them do a Mickey Mouse job for 20 bucks which turned out great all they did was apply black glue and let it dry for about an hour and your all set
Held up great. Been down the drag strip and plenty of highway runs and normal driving. 0 issues. Just be sure to use the blue lock tight on the bolt and nuts.
3.7_Phenom No I had just started a new job at the time and didn’t have time. You could definitely do it yourself though. Directions are very detailed with pictures etc. All bolt on except drilling one small hole.
Hey I know this is an old video, but I have this problem with my rear bumper, do you think I could get this kit and kinda do the same concept? Have you ever seen it done for the rear?
Why would you ruin the bumper placing that horrible button that looks aftermarket.. just get a zip tie and there's a hole inside that you can zip tie and looks OEM
So now you got a button on your fender?! All you had to do was reattach the piece that was hanging with JB Kwikweld and recreate another clip piece and snap it on. More work but worth not having that button showing. LOl
Well I guess you’re not much of a wrench turner then 🤷🏻♂️. This is the same thing people use for hood latches. Probably should take yours to a pro if you’re too skittish.
You should tell Ford that. Same thing they use to keep the GT500 hood secure. This isn’t for people that never take the front off. Feel free to try some zip ties… or some glue. ✌️

Glad I came across this video! I was quoted $650 to fix my bumper!!!
Your intro is the biggest motivation man
Chop Stick Appreciate it man. Means a lot!
This dude done tricked me into watching a 5 min commercial.

I got the same problem thanks for the post. I took it to a guy and they say I needed to replace the entire bumper 😤
They can also weld it i hate when these body shop try to get advantage
i just bought some of the same bummer pins so i can fix mine. good video
this is pretty crazy. This is the exact same bumper design in that area of my procharged cadillac cts. However, the bumper has no issues. It needs to come off enough that im looking into quick disconnects. thx for the video
p.s. its a unibit or step bit
My Mom just backed up into my front bumper and it doesnt fit flush exactly where you installed the part. will try this my next day off. Thanks sir
Wow appreciate that bro, that will save me from buying another bumper 🙂
There is no motivation better than someone telling you it cant be done
Great video as always! Simple step by step
JR Rocketboy thanks! 🤘
Wish you was local, great job

Could you explain please bc , I would rather not drill holes either if I can help it. Where exactly did you put the zip tie?
Great video and it's not a hard job at all just be very aware of the drilling on both sides I messed the passenger side up with the step-down drilling but was able to compenrsate on the inside bolt bracket by filing it so I could adjust the bolt. In the end it came out perfect.
Thanks for the video something new to learn I have the same problem with my 2015 mustang
Could you do this to the back bumper as well? The people who wrapped my car broke all four clips.
Is it possible to just epoxy that big support that broke off the bumper and the little clip seam back to where it was originally attached (on the bumper, not the body) so you could have the bumper attached like it was originally?

Clean install 👍🏻
Will Keen Thanks Will!

Do you know what that black little piece is called that you took off in the beginning?
front bumper bracket
I remember I had to do the same thing to my 2005 GTO. Lord knows why they design front fascias like that.
dzgtnbz right? 🤬
Great, thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Did U forget to remove the screw upper side ? or its so weak its gonna broken easy ?
These bumper tabs are so thin on newer cars, ended up going with plastic weld route.
WEEEEE. I’m part of this club now!! I get to use this video for my quick latch install. Thanks for leaving all this great content up. Hope you get boosted again in the future. Love to revisit these vids. 🙏🏼

Thanks man 🙏🏼
Awesome fix job, I’m getting close to having to do the same lol
STang2017 Damn Ford! 😂
Yeah that part is so Flimsy.
Thanks for the video sill definitely order for mine
Mike Ford should hire you! Nice
I have the same problem on my rear bumper as well.
What is the name of the screw u used ?
Stetion button were in India
Did you just do 1 side or both? My mustang did the same thing when I installed the RTR grille. I ordered the same part as u from the same company.
Aw man this happened to me today! My poor car 😭 I backed into a bush thinking it wouldn’t do anything! But that sucker held on and pulled my bumper loose. It broke the clips off or something. I hope the shop can fix it without replacing it.
What did you end up doing??
So did it ever give u problems after u installed the quick latch ?
How many lbs of boost you running now? And hp/tq numbers?
IamFreeSpirited Typically around 11psi but with good cool air I’ve seen 12psi. No clue on the updated hp/tq since I haven’t been back to the dyno. Hey can I get the link to your infotainment upgrade unit
Bilal Hussain I bought it from American Muscle its a Raxiom unit. They don’t make them anymore though.
Good tip
Good video
I didn’t want a clip on my bumper I simply went to a local body shop and had them do a Mickey Mouse job for 20 bucks which turned out great all they did was apply black glue and let it dry for about an hour and your all set
Rene Garcia To each their own. The clip came in handy for quick removal. Had the front bumper off the car a half dozen times at least.
How has this part held up. Gotta do the same
Held up great. Been down the drag strip and plenty of highway runs and normal driving. 0 issues. Just be sure to use the blue lock tight on the bolt and nuts.
Ive had to replace the drivers side but the other is going strong. My drivers side is still acting up and won't stay snapped.
Did your install the pro charger yourself?
3.7_Phenom No I had just started a new job at the time and didn’t have time. You could definitely do it yourself though. Directions are very detailed with pictures etc. All bolt on except drilling one small hole.
Hey I know this is an old video, but I have this problem with my rear bumper, do you think I could get this kit and kinda do the same concept? Have you ever seen it done for the rear?
This just happened to my mustang for the second time
I broke mine too but on my 2014
I will my now what is the name the part you got
I ended up making a hole on the bumper and fender and zip tying it 🥲
How’s that holding up? I just broke those tabs on my bumper today 💀
Somehow I didn't mark it in the right spot, and I ruined my bumper after drilling slightly too low. It's not as easy as they make it look :(
Sweet
I have the exact same thing on mine. But are you only doing it on one side? Lol
ShuffIePath No way man I’m too OCD for that 😂. I only recorded the one side.
Can you make mine too pls🙏
I don't want a button on my car . What the heck. 😮
Why would you ruin the bumper placing that horrible button that looks aftermarket.. just get a zip tie and there's a hole inside that you can zip tie and looks OEM
Not a fan of the quick latch method.
TheEzwider88 Been rock solid. Installed 4 months ago with a dozen or so passes at the strip. Hasn’t moved a bit.
So now you got a button on your fender?! All you had to do was reattach the piece that was hanging with JB Kwikweld and recreate another clip piece and snap it on. More work but worth not having that button showing. LOl
Great idea for people that never take the front end off. I took mine off all the time. Same set up Ford uses on the GT500 hood.
To make it simple, a freakin job you can't do by yourslef.
No way in hell I would drill out my bumper like that.
Well I guess you’re not much of a wrench turner then 🤷🏻♂️. This is the same thing people use for hood latches. Probably should take yours to a pro if you’re too skittish.
@@upsanddowns3844 jb weld
self taping screws alot faster and easier and just as stupid looking
There’s actually a way better method without having a big hole button on outside
What’s the method bro
Dude , you were smoking bath salts yeah ? When you come up with this poop idea
not a good idea
Literally the same style of release they use on the new GT500’s. But ok.
God there has to be a better way, that is so ghetto looking
You should tell Ford that. Same thing they use to keep the GT500 hood secure. This isn’t for people that never take the front off. Feel free to try some zip ties… or some glue. ✌️
No she is not pretty with bumper no noo thanks 🤣
