Fantastic stuff, Matt! All of that time on feet couldn't have helped your preparation for the marathon, but I'm thinking it might have been worth it. And boy, did Puma pick the right time to go big on their presence at an event. I love how much excitement there was for this race.
I kept thinking about being on my feet but it was 100% worth it! It was a crazy fun week/weekend. The race was SO exciting. Puma has played their cards right! It was exciting to be in the mix.
This was such a blast of a trip! Mike will be in Boston covering the race and going to the events but he’s not running this year. I’ll be there running (if all goes to plan) although probably not at a race-effort.
It was such a fun weekend, Gav! I kept thinking how lucky I was to live so close to it. Now I've got a taste of it and will want to go to the next one in four years, but it won't be quite as convenient!
Great video Matt B. You totally captured the excitement of the day. A great perspective aside from the network broadcast. Those of us that weren't privileged to be in the Puma Penthouse got to see how the other half lives. 😀
Great coverage Matt, honestly made me feel like I was actually there. Hope some male athlete's take note when the Puma comes a knocking. As you were not chasing the PB/PR on Sunday, I hope the Marathon was not to tough on you ... (the drive home eek)
It was so much fun to watch, and I'm happy to hear the vid conveyed some of that excitement. The drive home wasn't too bad, but the race didn't go to plan.....there will be a video. (spoiler: it starts with D and ends with F)
I'm willing to bet that you were looking at the shoes. I was. Curious that the Puma runners wore the Deviate Nitro Elite 3 rather than the Fast R Elite 2. Also noticed quite a few older Alphas. That doesn't bode well for Nike. Just my thoughts. Glad you enjoyed your time there. Looks like you're fairly consistentently this morning. Good predicted finishing time. You should BQ easily.
I didn’t know they were running in the DNE3 until after the race. Up in the Puma lounge they only had the Fast-R 2 out for us to touch. The sample of runners I saw was small, but I didn’t notice a single pair of AF3s. Mostly VF3s. A lot changed between you writing that comment and the end of my race! 🤣
@its_Matt_B_ Hmmm...it said you finished 3:17. I refreshed it & now it shows you DNF mile 12. It's certainly a buggy app. Every time I went it to check your progress, I had to start over.
Not gonna lie, it was nice watching the race on TV and listening to Citius Mag on RUclips but the atmosphere you had was 1000% better than my living room! Where are the Adidas marathon runners from the US???
I get it about it being nice to have commentary and TV. I loved having the TV in Puma to see exactly how far behind people were and to see how the race was unfolding when I couldn’t see it in person.
I would have loved to be there. PUMA is definitely investing a lot. I heard the two PUMA women ran in Deviate Nitro Elite 3. I am curious if the Nitro Elite foam in them is like the one in Fast-R 2 (reportedly Aliphatic TPU instead of PEBA in previous version)
I don't think they do trials like this outside USA. It's very interesting. Great day for PUMA (shoes). Maybe more people will start noticing how good their lineup is.
I realize I have no idea how other countries decide who goes to the Olympics in the marathon. I suppose it’s based on recent PBs in the distance!? It really was an epic day for Puma. I’m excited to see their Deviate Nitro Elite 3, which it looks like their athletes were wearing.
I think there is an A and B norm within the Olympic year (time to achieve) and based on that the atletes are chosen for Olympics in many countries.@@its_Matt_B_
Loved watching this video...I now understand Fear of Missing Out, that looked so so cool and fun!
Thanks, Sara! I will go back and watch this video in 3.5 years to remember how fun it was and to make sure I go to the next marathon trials!
Love the play by play, wish I stayed.
I wish you had stayed too!
Next time we would like to see you participate in the trials.
🤔 Ok, I'll see what I can do! 🤣

Exciting!!!
It really was an exciting day!
That I you for sharing your footage! It was fun to see the race from a VIP spectator perspective. What a race! Glad you got to enjoy it!
It was such a good race, wasn’t it! Fiona’s dad was up in the Puma box, so that was fun to see when we knew she’d win.
That’s so cool!
Awesome to see Ko! Awesome to see you Matt! Can’t wait to see you guys in Boston! I hope!

@@its_Matt_B_ awesome! I got to see him last year. Such a genuine man. So awesome to meet people you look up to!
What an awesome experience. Atmosphere looked electric, and all just a couple hours drive from home👍

Thanks, Greg! The Puma suite was pretty cool, right?!
I was at the ON cafe. What an epic weekend. Electric
Nice! I was hoping to get out to the On Cafe but just ran out of time. What an amazing event!
@@its_Matt_B_ yes for sure with some great views and free shoes!!!
Great video, thanks Matt
Thanks, Mark! This was the most fun running weekend with the least amount of running!
Both races were incredible!
🙌🏽
Almost forgot medal for all the great runners🥇🥇@@its_Matt_B_
Nice meeting u Matt, not to shabby from puma either that was a nice spot
That spot was fantastic! I would have gone in hungry if I’d known what to expect! 🤣

@@its_Matt_B_ not suprising you must have covered at least 10 miles if not more walking on the Saturday, well thanks again and rest up !
really nice video, thanks for sharing
Cheers, Massimo! 🙌🏽
Wonderful report, you made it so exciting to be there.
😁 Ahh, you’re kind to say that! Thank you!

@@its_Matt_B_ Nice consistent run, and a BQ. Very well done, Matt :-)
I'm not sure what you say, but it was a DNF for me today!@@MyFatAdaptedLife

🤣That's an annoying quality in any app!

I haven’t heard anything about the DNE3s. It’s going to be an exciting shoe, for sure!
What brand is your sunglasses? Very good looking
They’re made by Torege.

I'M first?
🥳
I would like to compare the last mile between the men and women. The women look gutted 😂
It’s different when you have a running buddy. I thought Fiona performed like the champ she obviously is!
