    I remember seeing you (not sure who you were at the time) last year. I was only running the half but had a PB.

    Excellent video. I ran the HM at this event and feel like it's a better HM course than marathon course, but it's a top tier event either way. The weather usually cooperates, too, provided you can handle some wind.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  10 месяцев назад

      Congrats on your HM, and thanks for watching the vid! Yes, I agree the HM is a better course than the marathon, but I've found that's usually the way because more people (racing and cheering) are involved. The Miami Marathon is the most extreme example of this i've seen; the first half if a party and second half is like a funeral! 🤣

      Hi Allen! Thanks so much for following along on race day! It was a good day for a marathon! The VF3s worked very well for me! I ended up choosing them because I wanted a shoe I knew would treat me right throughout the race! I've worn the original 4%, then the VF2 before these, so I'm very familiar with them. Very well done at Amsterdam and unless hell freezes over and I get accepted to London, I’ll be in Boston for 2025. It has to be very comforting to have a 14:30 buffer!
      The VF felt fantastic, although that could be because they’re so familiar. I’ve run a lot of races in the original and VF2s. The Endo Elites feel a little faster (but I don’t know if that’s actually true), but I do lean towards favoring a softer ride.

    Fantastic job on your race! Curious- why didn't you follow your Stryd power for pacing? I bought a Stryd after watching your Boston vlog a few years ago and really like it. Are you planning to run by power for this year's Boston? I'm going to try pacing by power at Ameris in Dec (although I'm not sure whether it'll make a difference with such a flat course) and then will see if I'll use the Stryd for Boston in the spring.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much Germaine! I did use my Stryd, but rather than rely on it completely, I used it as one of my metrics to ensure I was running at the appropriate pace. For example, sometimes my HR would creep up and I would check my power output and saw I was running a little hot so I had room to slow down. I focused on the power number completely when running uphill (the overpasses) to ensure I didn't go too hard.
