Was this posted to the wrong channel? This isnt jayztwocars 😂 o well, im still warching it!
Nope. Car content is going on the main channel from now on
@@Jayztwocents Sweet! As a car guy, im all for it! This is your 2 cents anyways, not jayztwotech
Awesome! I'm a trained mechanic, and even though I can't work on cars myself because I broke my back, I love seeing how car stuff has changed in the last decade
@@Jayztwocents Keep it comin' :D
Should I unsub from jayztwocars???
Just a tip from working at a VW/Audi tech, just helpful information to you or others. Any connectors, push them together first, press on the release clip, then pull apart. This will help A TON of people who are having problems with getting connectors apart. Your not doing anything wrong, just a tip to share! Great video! Oh, and a good set of short and long picks are some of the most useful tools I had.
This. Fantastic tip! I'm also a certified VW / VAG Service Tech and I had to learn this the hard way ... (looking at you cam angle- & knock sensor)
Thank you Jay for this cool video 👍🏻
btw beautiful R8 and nice working space!
This applies to so many connectors. Push them in to relieve any tension that might be making it difficult to release the clip. It's the first thing I do before going full 200 pound gorilla and breaking something.
The "leather punch" that Jay has is actually called an Awl. A punch usually removes a bit of material rather than just pierce it. This has been your leather working lesson of the day. :)
Always liked awls. It's like stocker or aunt, it doesn't matter how hard you try, you always say owl and anyone who doesn't already know what it is looks at you like you're crazy.
I always remember an awl because that's how braille was invented. Caused him to lose his eye and also used the awl I think to make the bumps
I've watched a lot of Reality videos. If you make one from a long nail wrapped with strips of bed sheet as a handle, then it's called a PigSticker. But if it's made from any flat sharp object, then it's called a shank. Thank you, kiddies. Next time, i will teach you awl how to make wine in the toilet. 🎼It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.🎵
Leave it to Jay to do a job twice just for the sake of teaching people. Literally the best guy ever!
Id do it twice too if I was getting paid the second time lol
As a car guy who has got into both your channel and computers throughout the pandemic, these kinda videos get a big thumbs up from myself. I look forward to seeing some more car content from you
its always a treat when you share your interest in cars Jay, hopefully we can get more of this in the future :)
I have these paddles on my M2. Worth mentioning that you can dampen the sound a bit by opening the housing and adding tape/foam/etc behind the magnet if the sound is too pingy for your liking. I don't mind it but my passengers always ask what that loud clacking sound is when I shift. Also they have aluminum paddle option if you don't want carbon fiber.
The aluminium one is the best for two reasons. CF damages over time: sun, oil from your hands etc. And secondly because the aluminium ones cool down, so on a hot sunny day, you'll have less chance of burnt fingers.
@@aserta You do realize that CF stays waaaay cooler than aluminum, right? If you've ever had a carbon fiber exhaust before on a motorcycle, you know that it's one of the massive benefits of using one: they really don't get that hot.
Aluminum cools off quickly, but so does CF while also just never getting all that hot to begin with.
But, you are correct about damage because of UV.
Well done Jay. It would be nice if more channels posted videos on how to do things with your level of information.
these vids remind me that i'd probably watch videos on just about anything made by you, lol.
you're great at tutorials and in how you speak to your audience. you're a good communicator and you're just likable.
as one of your usual viewers, i have also watched all of your car mod stuff, side project stuff, and vlogs just bc i like how you show us stuff.
thanks, Jay!
Love all you guys!
Great to see you working on your passions Jay.
Great video😊
Never in a million years would I expect you to upload a car mod install video.
Let's go more PC + car content!!
Love the bonus content like this because it shows how much you like to help others.
Glad to see car content here now :) would also love to see more stuff on y'alls 3D printing adventures, your improving guitar skills, etc..
Great video. I did a Golf R wheel on my tdi in the past. Did the R8 today and your detailed video came in handy. I did have an issue w the airbag coming off but finally got it lol! Appreciate it! 🍻
Hell yeah, I always forget Jay is a car guy. Still remember him doing a video on bedding in brakes.
Very detailed explanations. I like it a lot. Great job man.
i got the cheap carbon fiber ones that use set screw (grub screws) to attach over the oem paddles and it was a big improvement, but as you stated it doesn't fix the oem switch. my huracan had massive oem carbon paddles but i don't remember it being any clickier than the r8 ones, but i don't think i've paid enough attention to notice 😂
MORE video's like this please, Superb. Explaining and showing everything that you're doing. Video's like these are what youtube it all about, Keep it up Jay.
Man jay, you are really making me want to get back into car stuff. Glad to see more car content from you. It was really enjoyable watching on the other channel. Can't wait for more.
I love that youre a Gearhead too. I follow your other channel and am stoked to see you do a crossover like this. This was cool as Hell Jay.
This was great. It’s incredible. How quickly you get this done. I re-watched it. Pause. Rewind… like 100 times as I was underway. Super scary process but this video is incredible and everything worked out great. Thanks very much. I was replacing a broken paddle shifter so this had to be done and it’s also a huge upgrade over the stock versions.
Thanks for sharing Jay. Even though I don't drive a car or own one, I found this vid informative!
Very cool. These will fit my 8V S3. Purchased!! I dread the OEM paddle shifters too
never expected this video to leave the hard drive.. honestly loving it 😆!!
Awesome. Thanks. Picking those up.
really well explained thumbs up
From an R8Talk member, thanks for this Jay. Really comprehensive. 👌
Hell yeah, my two biggest passions of PCs and Cars all in one channel. Much respect for doing DIY on your Audi R8! And you're right about the window auto up/down relearn process being the same for all cars, it's the same for both my cars as well.
I suppose it's already watercooled, now it just needs more RGB!
Very useful video for when I win the Lotto and buy an R8!
Jokes aside, nice that Jay points out the common "Now do everything in reverse" issue that seemingly every car mod video does. Jay does it right, show the process!
I went to a lot of training classes in the forty+ years I was a mechanic. Yours was the best I have ever watched. Always disconnect the negative cable when removing or installing an air bag.
I love it! Car content rocks.
Cool Jay! Love the car videos!
I just learned how to set the auto down/up on my windows. Thanks!
Awesome content 🤘🤘
Thank you for more car content!!!
Excellent video, thanks for putting the effort in to make it - appreciated!
Jaay!!! Jaay !!!! thanks for this video !! this is a big surprise!! I own a vag car , and i have seen alot of videos, of how to remove, but I gotta say, I never seen such a detailed video about it, in the last months!!! camera work!!
angles etc spot on !!! it's a joy to see this video !!
some youtubers could take this an example!!! 😅😅
I love the "i hope you know how to count until 10 or you shouldn't be doing this". Love the alternative content.
Great explanation!
More!!!!! Love the content
Cool ro see your other passion! Cool vid Jay!
Love the Jayztwocars content here. Keep it coming
PC and car talk...i am home. Now we just need a Jayztwoguns channel!
Im thankful my 340xi shifters are decent, and only really needed extensions for more spirited driving. But definitely a must have for any car with paddle shifters.
The whole auto window fix thing is going to come in handy some day.. Probably for a friend. Thank you!
Fantastic step by step guide. I really like the emphasis on disconnecting all the various plugs. It’s annoying how virtually every plug is different and it’s never as obvious as it should be for how to take them apart
This was an incredible surprise! Great video!
thank you jay
I loved this. Wish I had known about the window trick a month back.
Love to see the car content again!
Awesome video 🙌
Well never was too much into cars, but Jake can spark my interest in things I never think about so easily
AYE Super hyped for this video. Had to double check to make sure i was on the right channel LOL. Thank you Jay!
I love this kind of content :)
Love the car content! Keep it up :)
Yes thank you i WILL need this in the future when i have an r8
I've actually been wondering how to fix the auto down and auto up feature for the windows in my car, so I appreciate that little tip at the end!
Very cool! Now I just need an R8! Love to see more video of the RS6 Avant and any mods you might have done. That’s my favorite Audi next to the RS7.
I really like watching your videos for tech and cars, as I like doing the same, working/building my own computers and tinkering/moding my c63s
love your car Jay, you have great taste in all your vehicles
I don't own an Audi, my car doesn't have paddle shifters, and I hate tinkering with car electronics because automotive electrical is typically a pain in the arse. Yet I'm still watching Jay doing whatever Jay does. 😂
This is the most engaging video I have watched in a while. I love your videos, but when it comes to cars, it is a breath of fresh air seeing something else new besides PC parts and whatever drama the tech companies are up to. 👍
Nice video and I’m sure someone will find it very helpful.
I love watching install videos knowing I’ll probably never install something this expensive 😭
Lucky for your it also works with a TTRs which is slightly cheaper lol 😂
Well you still need the base game before purchasing any expensive dlc
That will be true if you continue to have that mindset. People who get what they want in life don't tell themselves "I'll never..."
My thought when he mentioned the discount code for the paddles was "How many of Jay's viewers drive an R8?"
@@disco.thequeI'm a gamers nexus type guy myself 😂 this is just to master racey for me
Jay you are amazingyou can fix anything
I love watching you in general i feel like your so cool If it was a normal blog day i would watch it 💯✨
This is a great tutorial, really impressed. I don't own a R8, but it was nice to watch. Jay could be a great teacher
Jay, I had to idea you had a love for cars. It would be really cool to see more car tech on your channel! 😄
I have thought about getting around to this on my TTRS, but just have not done it yet.
Love how you too the extra step with the battery. Thank you for being logical.
Nice build
yay, more car stuff
As someone who found Jay for PCs and someone who loves to modify/work on cars, this was definitely a delight to watch.
Thanks! Will do this in three weeks, and the exact same type of paddles.
That, and a slightly higher rear wing will make this car perfect 😎
Great video Jay I'm a car and computer guy myself I found this interesting.
Yay more car stuff!!! Any updates on the camero or the Jayz2cars channel?
Jay i have an 18 ZL1 M6 and been looking at the prior gen R8 5.2 like a MY 14. I know it's older but what has been your experience with going from ZL1 to the R8.
Yes yes yes, love the car content!
I really appreciate that you showed what depressing the spring did instead of just saying “depress the spring” at 7:35 . The way my brain works, I can create a visual in my head of exactly what I’m doing if I run into an issue. Thanks for the different type of video!
My example of a similar situation is that installing a car stereo once, instructions said to remove a connector for the 4-way flasher switch, but didn’t mention that it had a clip like the orange one you showed on the yellow connector. Did the install on hard mode with the switch flipped back. FF a few years, new stereo, new instructions “pull out the clip”. Fuuuuuu😖
Edit: clarity, autocorrect
I love the R8 looks amazing
Please post more car modifications or R8 content! Very informative!
Haven’t watched in a while. Congrats on the R8. Love this car along with the good old Gallardo.
im like you, PCs and cars are my life. ty.
Casual R8 Flex. Love it!
we need more car content
Jay we need to see more of your cars. I'm a huge fan of your taste in them. Is a twin turbo kit in its future?
Excellent tutorial. It's like you have experience with this or something, lol. These look pretty nice. I have DSG Paddle extensions for my RS5, and while they're okay, they still rely on the stock paddles at the base, and even more annoyingly, they're hit or miss when trying to use the very top or bottom of the paddle. Too much flex allowed since they're just stuck on the stock paddles. Maybe I can check out the paddles this year at Big SoCal Euro to see if I want to get them for the RS5?
I'm not even a car guy but this stuff is so interesting. I like it!
def love car content too, big top gear/the grand tour fan
Badass looking R8!!
Thought this was posted to JayzTwoCars initially when I saw the notification - as a car guy I couldn't care less where it's posted. Glad to see some car stuff coming again
Nice change of pace. 👍
Love that youre showing car repair!! Manufacturers making it hard for us these days
Upgraded my paddles in my RS3. Makes a nice difference.
I enjoyed this video. Thanks dude for some slightly different content.
as a pc and car nerd, I appreciate the variety!
I was in the thread on the r8talk forum. lol, Glad to see you got the real JQs and not the knock offs that almost went around. I just put some JQs in my RS3 too.
Hey jay im not a really auto fan, but u have my like here... Support what u do mate.
Cool stuff. I love the PC/gamer content, it’s why I follow, but this was refreshing.
