@@paulsteinbrunner7197 Hi Paul, there are so many factors contributing to the sounds. The IR in use does make a huge difference. I just spent 2 days doing captures with the AMPERO as they recently released the firmware to allow it to profile. It made SUCH a difference in the “boxy” sound due to the speaker ( IR) that was on my SHAW DGAS amp ( a Dumble style amp). I will be posting a video soon with the results. Thank you!
That’s true….I still have my Kemper as well. I will admit, I have been profiling (capturing ) my amps on the AMPERO, it is getting more and more impressive. Thank you for watching.
Not even close. IMO The Ampero sounds like there's a cocked Wah in the signal. The Kemper latency is 3.1ms with an amp block and cabinet on, the Ampero with an amp block and and cabinet on is 7.8ms...not using IRs. Play live with the Kemper for a few weeks and then play live with the Ampero, you'll feel and hear the difference immediately.
The honky tone of the Ampero is likely due to the characteristics of the cab used. The Kemper seemed slightly louder and had more reverb. I believe Ampero cab models are around 7ms latency but IRs are around 3ms. 7ms is aprox 2.5 meters at the speed of sound. That's less latency than you're getting stood across the room from your tube amp. it's so low it's irrelevant. Not saying that the Kemper isn't superior but it's pretty marginal at this point. They do sound different but I wouldn't say one sounds better than the other.
@@LilOlFunnyBoy As I get more familiar with the AMPERO, I plan to do more on this comparison ( including the “capture” function of the HOTONE …stay tuned!
Thank you Denny for sharing this! I’ve got an ampero stage recently, and your videos about it are very helpful and informative! Keep posting!
You are so welcome! Thank you! There is another video coming tomorrow….many more to come!
Is it me or is the Kemper way less boxy sounding?

I’m gonna admit that there’s a product for every budget and it’s getting cheaper and easier to sound good. I’m sticking to Kemper

Have you done that?
