Thank you for the comparison! I really appreciate it. I find the ampero sounding thin or muddy at times. The kemper on the other hand, sounds more balanced to my ears. Has the right amount of mids and clarity (esp when A/B-ing the Dumble Clean tones).
Thanks for your comment. After having the AMPERO much longer now, I do love it. I don’t dislike the KEMPER at all. I should do another video now that I am much more familiar with the AMPERO. It’s all a bit subjective as to what we hear and what we all like, as well as MANY other factors, but both are excellent choices.
Why are guitarists obsessed with "bang for buck"? We waste thousands of Dollars buying/selling/trading/swapping/, for years and years, and then don't buy one unit because it's $150 more than another unit and we earn that $150 in the first hour of a gig...and the extra $150 unit sounds way better, way more tube like in feel with way less latency than the bang for buck unit. 🤔
If you still have DSP left on the channel of the ampero make sure to switch the cab or ir to high resolution. that will make it a little better as well.
I am sold. I have watched all of your Ampero RUclips reviews and I am putting the Helix back in it's backpack and, thanks to Amazon, my Stage II will be here tomorrow.
HEY ALL, I plan to redo this video and give you the exact signal flow and no FX. Both sound great and now that I am more familiar with the STAGE, I will do this again and we can discuss. I sure appreciate everyones comments and observations and I will be back with updated video! Thanks!
I’ve played my entire Life and the day i plugged into my church system through the Kemper, i was completely blown away. I just wished they had better design. The green look on their products irk me. Are there worship presets for the ampero?
I will agree with you on the KEMPER....I don't like the look of it but it sounds awesome. I used my HOTONE at church after years of using the KEMPER and the worship leader liked the STAGE better! There are worship presets for the STAGE but I write my own. The CLOUD reverb is absolutely perfect for it. It is VERY user friendly. ruclips.net/video/S27LiE4kZVE/видео.htmlsi=dQSG8VCpHTue9JaL
Ampero Stage was close but Kemper sounded better to my ears on every example. That being said, I would still chose the Ampero Stage because it's so close!
Note to myself. Next time I compare two units on similar tones: pay some attention to factory EQ differences and for goodness' sake, turn off delay and reverb :)
gee, thanks for the advice ...I should have contacted and expert like you to tell me! There are always a lot of factors that go into comparing anything , and all are subjective. You just CAN'T please everyone.
@@DennyJiosaGuitar Sorry, did not mean to sound too harsh. I just watched a couple of these comparisons, and the most salient difference is always brightness and highs bias most of us this way or the other, while it has not much to do with neither the tone, nor the faithfulness of the modeling. And as much as I love reverb and delay, it makes it difficult to form an idea of the tone. For me, modeling or not, it all boils down to responsiveness. And that is something you can't have any other way but playing the unit yourself, IMHO.
@@zsoltpalatinus1117 No worries...I understand ,but I will tell you, as soon as I would have turned those off, someone else would have had a comment about that ....I will be doing more and will show with and without FX. I appreciate your opinion. Have a great day.
kemper all the way on the dumble with od same with marshall od but on the low /no gain tones it desnt matter The differences are greater with mid to high gain
I think that so called high class modelers (Kemper, FX, etc) are good but the prices in the West are ridiculous in every field you look. Greedy societies, greedy governmental politics and firm etc
Yes, you're absolutely right! I am deaf like you and I have to admit the Kemper sounds much better! If you waste so much money for a museum object it has to sound better! You nailed it! 😂
i was thinking the same thing. hotone was good. but everyrhing he was saying about the hotone applied to the kemper and.viseversa. kemper hands down in this had the better tone. hotone sounded muffled, or on a leash, where the kemper every note was clear and came thru.

It's crazy how much better the Ampero sounds to me! Awesome video and commentary, thank you.
Thank you! There is a big update coming for the STAGE soon...I will be doing nore videos on this.
Enough of a difference to make a difference? Eq is a magical thing and helps level the playing field. Nice work and thank you.
Thank you....nice update coming soon on the AMPERO! Play on!
New video coming this week for a follow up to these two units. THANK YOU!
I had the kemper and it was great but this little unit is amazing especially for the price. Very hard to beat. The touch screen is as good as it gets.
Both great sounding. I do agree with Denny’s conclusions.
It’s getting to the point that only our dogs can hear the difference.
Love it...and the Ampero.
Man, such great Wes Montgomery thumb vibe/technique on the dumble demo. Both modelers sound good, but you make em sound great!
Many thanks for your kind words!! All the best.
New video coming this week for a follow up to these two units. THANK YOU!
Bang for bucks hands down the Ampero is head and shoulders above the competition atm

Great - Many thanks. (Where is the hum coming from @ 5.55 ?)
Sorry about that….it was a ground issue . Not sure how that got past us both during the filming.

Both sound so different. But for me the Kemper is fuller not the ampero.
All good....thank you for your comment!

One thing I always miss in this type of videos is the actual signal chain (which makes a big difference ...)

I much preferred the Kemper, personally. However ; a thousand dollars better? There's always EQ.

Ampero all the way.
That's a Heritage? Nice.
YES...I love HERITAGE guitars.
im by far an expert, go by the ears. the only differences -for me- are EQ.
I have an ampero...Kemper sounded better on the Marshall...Ampero was good too though
Hi Christopher, thank you for your comment. The Marshall is a profile of my son'2 early JCM800 I did. I agree....it's sounds killer.
The very first sample: the Ampero does not sound well at all. Muffled, no treble, Later samples are better in ur video.

@DennyJiosa I wrote emails to hotone to insert a one button looper among the blocks. It would be a must for one man band scenarios

@DennyJiosa I would be greatful to you. I sent them 3 emails about it getting an answer only once which was a kinda neutral polite nothing.
