It's amazing how the game has changed so much. They were leaving Rondo open for a 3 but barely any attempts. A lot of the plays were done inside the 3-point line. I miss this style of NBA so much. Curry really changed the game in such a short period.
There's always going to be a lot of ways to be effective in the NBA. There are still killers inside the arc. Rondo was strange even then for his lack of consistent three point shot. It wasn’t an upset. Maimi heat had a weaker bench. Rondo was in his prime, Wade was injured, Celtics had the big 3 still. It was very possible for the bulls, Celtics, pacers to bet the heat.
Man… I remember being in high school watching this man run circles around defense. Making it look easy. Very underrated point god. His iq was mad crazy. Loved the squad and energy

They missed a call near the end of this game, Rondo drove and got hit on the head by Wade but got a no call and got a free fast break at the other end and took the lead that’s why they ended up going down like that and Rondo had to shoot those 2 three’s to keep them in the game
Glad someone mentioned that. That non-call may or may not have changed the outcome but it was such a blatant whack across the face and yup Miami raced right down and scored in the fast break. I’m still salty about it bc the Celtics lost this one in OT but won the next 3 in a row

If Rondo could have developed a consistent jumper like he had in this game, he'd have easily been the best PG in the game. He was already top 3 at this point even without a consistent jumper.
