I lost 150 pounds in my 20's from divorce and i use to portion if i ate but eventually i gained it all back after years after being remarried to my second husband i am 51 young grandma and I want to lose this weight and be able to enjoy time with my family and grandbabies i ran across you and enjoy your videos but i can't afford no body to help me but to learn to do this by myself it was so much easier when I was younger. Thank you 😊💕 for this

I agree that some things are easier to do when you’re younger. However habit change can be done at any age! The way you eat is a habit that can be relearned. It’s challenging to do it alone without any accountability. The women I work with are a community and together they’ve achieved great results in weight loss and getting better blood work as a result of changing their eating habits. Just think, if you did it before you can do it again! You have the muscle you just need to cultivate an environment of support and practice habits that are sustainable.

I'm glad you find it helpful! It's definitely helped ground me in the present moment instead of running to food to eat my emotions. I pray it serves many folks in their journey to eat well!

I am an emotional overeater, thank you for this. It's so hard because I want to stop and become a vegan. They put all this addictive stuff in the food and trying to get off this stuff is a process but I want to change for the better

Hey Kia thank for sharing! I know what you mean, the addictive ingredients in food can make it challenging! I want to caution you that becoming Vegan isn’t necessarily the answer because Oreos are vegan and so are Beyond and Impossible burgers and French fries lol! Those are all vegan foods that emotional eaters can overeat. I think the best way to address emotional eating is to DEAL with the emotions before you eat. One of the reasons I moved away from “vegan” and became whole foods plant-based was because it lessened the amount of chemicals and addictive ingredients and gave me more nutrients. I noticed that my cravings reduced drastically with this way of eating. Kia, I assure you that trying to make the change alone is really hard! I encourage you to sign up for the Mindful Nutrition School and get support along the way. The link is in the description of the video. Be well!

Eat 3 meals portioned and no snack food junk food that is what im going to do

    • @TheMindfulPlate

I hear you, that is a meal plan that you can follow. However I have a question for you. Is that sustainable for you? What would it look like to allow yourself to enjoy snacks and Trust that you won’t overdo it. In my Mindful Nutrition School I teach women how to eat what they love, mindfully. How to learn to trust their body and listen in to their hunger and full signals. And ultimately how to eat for how they live, instead of trying to fit into regimented meal plans. It’s absolutely possible! Do you think you’d like to try this way of eating?
