and the way he says "elvis presley" like he expects everyone to cringe, its a shame he feels that way, he is more of a metal fan then any of us, been playing metal for years now, but feels we'd complain because he likes other music too, im a fan of all, fav band is trivium, love listening to 2pac when i want to relax, music is great, all side's of it, and i can't wait intill matt can really relax with his fan's, and they accept him for who he is, and you saw the claps, they loved it :)

It's funny because you can tell he's nervous in these videos. He forgets lyrics, shakes, his voice cracks, its really cool seeing that he's human xP i guess the crowd makes him forget his performance anxiety when he's watching the pits and people scream at the top of their lungs trying to get his attention hahaha

Well, he's also trying to sing like THE rock legend. Granted he's a metal legend himself these days, but that's still huge. And yeah man, Matt has always said he loves everything. He used a tele on "In Waves," to do the intro to Forsake Not The Dream (my personal favorite song off that record btw)
I like trivium but UB40's remake does Elvis Justice better.

I respect Matt, but I HATE his vocal tone outside of Trivium. A lot of scooping and sounds kinda pitchy and timid. Keep in mind I love and respect him, but it makes me cringe.
Elvis actually didn't write any of his own music. It's my understanding that literally every single song he performed was either written for him or was just a cover.
I feel like he didn't take a big risk raising his voice through the singing parts and it could of had a little more passion in it. Like the parts where Elvis hangs on the notes he kinda stops short. But it def is a ballsy choice for a cover and I give him credit!
