Was 17 in 77 when i bought the red card Album and also the live album Thought i would never see this band from my eyes ! Thanks youtube ! thanks +++ Delius98 for posting these great songs !!
I never thought I would see Streetwalkers playing live. I have Viscous But fair and Red Card on vinyl, loved this band since the 70's. Thanks for posting this. Without you tube I never would have seen this footage. Fucking Awesome!
Shocked the living daylights out of us, January 2020 when this was played live saw all three gigs, so privileged, Red Card my favourite album, then Kiss my Soul, wow you have missed some treats all these years.
Powerful??? That's exactly what it is NOT...well, compared to the original line-up with Nicko. This drummer sounds castrated...there's NO power, it sounds like a toy kit, or something...but Chapman sounds exactly like he does on "Red Card" here...I can't stand that awful, pathetic drumming, though.
I had Red Card when I was 16 or 17 and right from the start I loved. I met one of his band at a jubilee gig on Telegraph Hill near Gravesend. It was a bit chilly and I struggled to play my guitar parts. First and last time I ever performed outdoors, Where is Roger now and what is he doing? I would love Streetwalkers to reform. Without a shadow of a doubt one of the greatest band of the late seventies.
I saw them in 1977 at the Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes! Small gig, packed in and heaving! Great gig....maybe one of my favourite gigs, pity I didn't realise it at the time!
I saw them in St Albans in 77 (I think) i remember Chappo taking a blokes trilby off in the front, tipped a pint in it and put it back on the geezers head!! Amazing powerful gig.
I saw Roger this month on his "Family and Friends" tour. He played this, which was a thrill, but I had to come here to see how it SHOULD be sung - blowing the roof off the joint. It's not Roger's fault he's not a young man any more, and I realise he has to conserve his voice, but he more or less rapped the whole song, smoothing off all the rough edges. The bellowing and fury in this performance are a thing to behold - sad to hear a neutered version of it.
I had one friend in high school who "got" streetwalkers. Still trying to turn my younger buddies on to them. Some of the ones who like Humble Pie get it. Oh. for context, I'm 57.
